Chapter 257 Staying with You

Chapter 257 Staying with You

Han Xi saw everything that happened inside the house from the doorway. She never imagined that Shen Qingzhou would be so ruthless as to target the old house in order to save his overseas company.

She didn't speak because she didn't want to interfere in the Shen family's internal affairs.

This time, Shen Qingzhou has completely broken ties with his family and made such harsh remarks. Han Xi is really worried that he might do something drastic.

"Grandma, how are you? Should we take you to the hospital?"

If the old lady hadn't told Shen Qingzhou to leave, Shen Jiheng would never have let him go so easily.

The old lady waved her hand, looking exhausted, and said, "I'm fine, I'm just too tired and want to rest. Don't bother me."

As the old lady was about to go upstairs by herself, Madam Shen hurriedly stepped forward to help her when she saw that she was unsteady on her feet.

Seeing this, Han Xi also jogged forward and considerately supported the old lady's arm.

"Auntie, let me help Grandma upstairs. You were also frightened, so please go and rest."

Madam Shen then noticed that Han Xi was also there, and took a deep breath and nodded.

"Alright then, thank you for your help."

Han Xi nodded gently, exchanged a glance with Shen Jiheng, and helped the old lady upstairs.

"Grandma, don't be sad for this kind of person. You need to take care of your health."

"You must be laughing at me. I've done so many good deeds, how come I have such a wicked son? If you hadn't come, he would have mortgaged all my land deeds."

Han Xi could understand Shen Qingzhou's predicament; he was truly driven to desperation and resorted to desperate measures.

However, this is not a reason for him to hurt his family.

"He won't bother you anymore. I believe that after this, Ji Heng will have new plans."

The old lady held her hand and said with relief, "Han Xi, seeing you two together makes me feel comforted. I know you still have reservations, but I can feel that you are slowly accepting him."

Han Xi did not deny this point; perhaps it really is like what others have had—it is destiny.

“Grandma, I brought Yuxuan and his sister over this weekend. They’ve been learning to sing and dance at kindergarten and they come back every day to perform for us.”

The old lady's previously dim eyes immediately lit up.

"My great-grandson can dance now. His little arms and legs are so cute."

"You danced quite well. I'll bring you over to visit you the day after tomorrow. Take care of yourself."

The old lady looked at her with tearful eyes. The Shen family had always been a dark place, but Han Xi was like a ray of sunshine shining in, warming her heart.

Recent events have left the old lady exhausted, but it is her children's presence that gives her the courage to persevere.

Seeing Han Xi's concerned gaze, she nodded, touched.

"Okay, I promise you, I will greet them in my best condition."

"That's right. It's very late now, you should get some rest."

Han Xi helped her to bed and then carefully covered her with a blanket, making the old lady feel comfortable with every action.

Just as Han Xi was about to leave, she called out to him again.

"Han Xi, I'm so glad you're still here. Please believe in us, and believe in Ji Heng one more time. He will treat you well."

Han Xi smiled and nodded; this time she believed her.

This was a great comfort to the old lady. Although she loved her great-grandchildren, what she was most worried about was Shen Jiheng, who didn't understand social etiquette.

Rather than saying he doesn't understand, it's more accurate to say that he never cared about other people's feelings in the past, which led to him being separated from Han Xi for so long.

The old lady is very pleased to see the two of them together now.

Han Xi walked out of the room. She understood what the old lady meant. She admitted that Shen Jiheng had regained a place in her heart. As for when the two could get back together, she was still considering it.

Han Xi went downstairs and saw the servants cleaning up the messy room. Madam Shen had already gone back to her room to rest, but Shen Jiheng was nowhere to be seen.

She walked out of the courtyard and saw Shen Jiheng making a phone call outside.

Hearing footsteps, Chen Jiheng turned around, put down his phone, and sighed heavily.

Shen Jiheng took the initiative to say, "I've arranged for several bodyguards to come over, and from now on, that person will not be allowed to set foot in the old house again."

Han Xi had anticipated that he would do this; otherwise, when forced into a corner, Shen Qingzhou would still come to the old lady for help.

“He left with a lot of resentment, so you should be careful. Do you have any other plans?”

“I’ve decided to send him out of the country and never let him come back.”

Han Xi agreed with the decision; as long as Shen Qingzhou remained in Yucheng, trouble would continue.

She cautioned, "We need to do this sooner rather than later. If his company goes bankrupt tomorrow, he might blame you for everything."

Han Xi's idea was to strike first and drive him out of the country before he had a chance to retaliate.

Shen Jiheng said confidently, "You don't need to worry. I have people following him and monitoring his movements. If anything happens, we will immediately take action to arrest him."

"Since you've made all the arrangements, I'm relieved."

Han Xi was just offering a suggestion; he didn't want to interfere too much with how Han Xi planned to do it.

Shen Jiheng took two steps forward and took her hand, but Han Xi gently pulled it away and said, "It's getting late, I should go back."

Shen Jiheng looked at his empty hands and felt a little disappointed.

He knew that Han Xi had feelings for him, but why wouldn't she accept him?

Shen Jiheng could wait, but he didn't know how long that wait would actually last.

Perhaps my mood was extremely low today, and even my mood was severely affected.

"Grandma and the others were frightened, so I plan to stay at the old house tonight. That way, they'll feel more at ease. Will you stay with me?"

Shen Jiheng still extended an invitation to her, hoping that she could stay with him.

Han Xi shook her head: "I've been too busy these past few days and haven't been home much. I want to go back and spend some time with them."

It still doesn't work!

Shen Jiheng smiled slightly; he would no longer force Han Xi to do anything.

"Alright then, I'll have the driver take you."

Han Xi noticed a layer of frost on his handsome face, guessing that tonight's events must have had a significant impact on him.

She nodded and turned away, but felt increasingly uneasy.

Han Xi took two steps, feeling as if a rope was pulling her heart. Every step she took tightened her nostrils, and the further she went, the more painful it became.

Han Xi was almost completely baffled as to why she had such a strange mindset and what she really wanted to do.

She slowed her pace, her mind in turmoil.

Finally, Han Xi stopped and turned around abruptly. She was already ten steps away from Shen Jiheng. Although she couldn't see his expression clearly, she could feel the desolation in his eyes.

Han Xi clenched her fists and suddenly ran over. Shen Jiheng was taken aback at first, but after recovering, he quickly stepped forward and opened his arms to guide her.

Han Xi threw herself into his arms, and an unprecedented feeling enveloped the two of them.

Shen Jiheng even began to doubt whether it was his imagination that Han Xi had returned.

"Han Xi?"

"I'll stay here with you."

A few simple words captured Shen Jiheng's mind, making him forget all his thoughts for a moment.

He lifted Han Xi's chin and kissed her passionately. After waiting for more than four years, he finally welcomed her back.

This woman finally belonged to him again.

Shen Jiheng clenched his hands, wishing he could merge her into his blood.
