Chapter 284 Shut up if you don't understand anything
Shen Jiheng returned to the old house with mixed feelings. Upon entering, he saw many elders in the living room, and the atmosphere was very solemn.
The last poisoning incident revealed numerous internal problems within the Shen family, which he suppressed in secret to prevent them from erupting.
This incident involving Shen Qingzhou was originally none of the elders' business, and they didn't know why they had come as a team.
Before the elders could speak, Shen Mingzhu was the first to step forward, angrily questioning them.
"Brother, is the rumor true? How could you do this to Dad? You kept preventing me from seeing him after he returned to China, and now you're trying to kill him yourself."
Shen Jiheng was truly disappointed in her. He was worried that Shen Mingzhu would also fall victim to such a terrible act, so he forbade her from meeting her father, all for her own good. But now she was blaming him.
"Shen Mingzhu, can you use your brain for once? Haven't you seen what he's been doing?!"
“No matter what he did, he is still our biological father. How could you do something so outrageous?”
Madam Shen, unable to bear it any longer, rushed forward, pulled her in front of her, and slapped her.
“Shut up if you don’t understand anything. If your brother hadn’t been protecting you, how could you be standing here unharmed criticizing him?”
The old lady also spoke up: "Yiyun is right. He has only himself to blame. I just mentioned this issue. Anyone who dares to blame Ji Heng for this is going against this old woman."
The old lady fully understood his actions; she would never have harmed her own father unless she was driven to the brink.
Thinking back on what Shen Qingzhou did after returning to China, it was utterly heinous. Even in death, she deserved to die.
"Grandma, don't get angry. Everyone can ask if they have any opinions. I came back to explain this matter."
Shen Mu coughed and stood up, saying bluntly, "There are rumors circulating outside that there is internal strife in our Shen family, causing many shareholders to feel uneasy."
Shen Jiheng said, "I will hold a meeting tomorrow to clarify this point; it has nothing to do with the company."
"That may be true, but how could you, as a junior, lay a hand on your own father?"
Shen Mu had been harboring resentment, and now that he had the chance, he had to say something.
Shen Jiheng calmly replied, "I think if this kind of thing happened to my uncle, you certainly wouldn't be indifferent either, and you might even do something worse than me."
"You don't understand me. I would never harm a family member. I would always use love to influence him." Shen Mu was deliberately arguing with him.
The old lady understood his intention and stood up to speak in his defense: "Shen Mu, don't make sarcastic remarks. You're still holding onto the poisoning incident from last time. If someone kidnaps your child and tries to kill you, do you dare say you can forgive them!"
These words left Shen Mu speechless for a moment. If someone really did that, he would definitely tear that person to pieces.
The old lady took a deep breath and said, "We all know what happened this time, and we don't need you to interfere."
Madam Shen also stated: "I am very grateful for everyone's concern, but Ji Heng did nothing wrong this time, and I will not accept anyone blaming him."
Shen Jiheng smiled knowingly. In the past, his parents had never sided with him when it came to issues between him and Han Xi, but this time they were united in protecting him, which he was very grateful for.
With the old lady in charge and Madam Shen in charge, the Shen family members looked at each other and didn't know what to say, so they left one after another.
Now only this family remained in the living room. The old lady asked with concern, "How is my great-grandson doing now? Has his mood improved? Your mother and I wanted to visit her, but we were worried that she would be stressed, so we held back."
Shen Jiheng stepped forward to help her sit down and replied, "She's still recovering. Han Xi said she'll invite you over once her condition improves. She doesn't plan to send her to kindergarten this year, so you'll have more time to spend together."
The old lady nodded: "That's good. I want to strangle that bastard Shen Qingzhou for all the terrible things he's done."
"Ji Heng, don't feel pressured. Grandma and I will take care of this for you."
Madam Shen was even glad that he hadn't been lenient; that's how you deal with bad people.
Feeling this warmth, Shen Jiheng smiled and said, "I finally feel favored by you all. Thank you."
Madam Shen smiled and said, "When we helped Han Xi before, it was also equivalent to helping you. You should understand that."
If they had treated Han Xi badly before, how could she possibly have any feelings for the Shen family?
Shen Jiheng understood this sentiment, and with the changes in his relationship with Han Xi, remarriage was just around the corner.
Shen Mingzhu stomped her feet behind her back, not giving her a chance to speak.
Madam Shen looked at her, shook her head helplessly at her sullen expression, and spoke to her earnestly and patiently.
“Mingzhu, you should learn to distinguish right from wrong. Your father did something inhumane. Your brother was just doing what he should do. He has always been protecting you.”
"Okay, whatever you say is right, I'll just listen to it."
Madam Shen shook her head. This daughter was just like her father in temperament, and she was hard to reason with. She didn't want to explain any further.
In the inner courtyard of the Gu family, Han Xi looked at her daughter who was in a daze in the yard, and gave Han Yuxuan a look, signaling him to go up and talk to her.
After returning home, Han Yumo's mood stabilized, but she started spacing out more often, and sometimes she would suddenly freeze up while having a pleasant conversation.
"Han Xi, I think you should take her to see a child psychologist and give her some guidance."
Grandma Gu saw this and was worried. After thinking it over, she suggested taking the child to see a doctor.
Han Xi nodded: "I was thinking the same thing. I'll look up some specialized hospitals first and take her to see a doctor tomorrow."
Grandma Gu patted her shoulder, "Don't worry, the child will be fine."
Han Xi nodded with relief. What she feared most now was that she wouldn't be able to overcome the psychological trauma she had suffered.
The next day.
Han Xi made an appointment with a child specialist for psychological counseling for her child, and dressed Han Yumo in her favorite princess dress in the morning.
Even though she used to be bad at expressing herself, she would smile when she wore a dress she liked, but now she doesn't react at all.
"Yumo, don't you like this dress anymore?"
Han Yumo stared at her with wide eyes, her gaze empty, as if her soul had left her body.
After a moment, she replied, "I like it."
"Then why aren't you smiling anymore!"
Han Xi spoke gently, wanting to listen to what she had to say.
Han Yumo looked away, showing no interest in the topic.
Han Xi breathed a sigh of relief. She couldn't rush things. She carried the child into the car and prepared a Rubik's Cube toy to keep her from getting bored.
Han Yumo, who usually enjoys hands-on activities, didn't react when she saw these things.
Han Xi took the item from her hand, but Han Yumo just held it without moving, making her realize that the situation might be very serious.
Han Xi held her in his arms, hoping that his lively daughter would return soon.
Upon arriving at the expert's office, Han Xi heard a commotion inside. He turned to look at the female bodyguard behind him, who nodded knowingly and went to check the situation.
Ever since the incident, Shen Jiheng has been worried about them traveling alone, so he arranged for female bodyguards to be in charge of their safety.
To avoid frightening the child again, Han Xi first took her daughter to another side to wait for news.
