Chapter 464 The Skill of Deceiving People Hasn't Changed

Han Xi helped the old lady into the car. As soon as she sat down, she received a message on her phone. She glanced at it and said calmly, "Wait for me a moment. I just remembered that I forgot to take something."

Shen Jiheng nodded: "Go ahead, I'll stay with Grandma."

Han Xi smiled at the old lady, got out of the car, and hurriedly ran back to the old man's ward.

The message that the old man just sent her told her that something important had happened and that she absolutely had to come back.

Han Xi knocked on the door and saw the old man standing by the window, looking up at the sun outside.

"Grandpa Bo, what do you need me for?"

The old man turned to look at her and said, "Han Xi, I know that you are the only one who is wholeheartedly on Ji Heng's side right now, which is why I asked you to come."

Han Xi thought he was worried about Shen Jiheng's situation, so she reassured him, "You don't need to worry at all. Now your aunt and grandmother are on his side and won't let Bo Siye hurt him."

Unexpectedly, the old man shook his head and said sternly, "No, I don't know what Yiyun is thinking, but the old lady isn't. If they fight, she will definitely side with Bo Siye."

Han Xi looked puzzled, so the old man told her about their conversation.

Han Xi never expected the old lady to say such extreme things. Was all the kindness she showed by staying by their side just a facade?

“She hates me for causing this situation, and she will definitely find a way to protect Si Ye.”

"So you sent me here to teach me to be wary of her."

"Yes, you must be careful. At such an important moment, don't trust anyone. Only you are truly thinking of Ji Heng's best interests, and I only trust you."

These words made Han Xi a little nervous. If the old lady was pretending, then what about Madam Shen?

Could it be that they knew about Shen Jiheng's scheme against Shen Mingzhu and were just deliberately cooperating?

If that's the case, then the situation is terrible.

"I understand. Although Grandma gave you a deadline, I don't want anything to happen to you. After all, you are Ji Heng's grandfather, and he cares about you a lot."

The old man nodded vigorously: "Okay, I promise you, I will live."

Although Shen Jiheng did not show his feelings for him, Han Xi could sense that he cared about him too.

"I can't stay here for too long. Contact me if you need anything."

"Thank you for your hard work, child. I'm entrusting Ji Heng to you now."

Han Xi nodded and left, but felt uneasy.

When she got back to the car, Shen Jiheng was chatting and laughing with his grandmother, their relationship seemingly back to what it used to be.

If all of this is true, Han Xi will be very pleased; if it's just an illusion, then it's a bit scary.

Han Xi's biggest fear is that Shen Jiheng and the Shen family will fall out, as this would be detrimental to both sides.

"You're back. Did you get your things?"

Han Xi smiled and said, "Got it, let's go."

This is just the old man's guess. Han Xi doesn't know whether he should tell Shen Jiheng or observe secretly before deciding.

Upon arriving at Han Yue's villa, the three children rushed over in a swarm.

"Grandma, you've finally come to see us! I've missed you so much."

Han Yuxuan hugged her and put his hand on her face. The young child was unaware that her identity had changed.

Han Yumo greeted them sweetly, "Hello, Grandma Great-Grandpa, when can you tell us a story?"

Han Chuang thoughtfully poured her some water, saying, "Grandma, have some tea."

The old lady watched the children beam with joy and opened her arms to hug them.

Han Xi noticed a faint sadness in the old lady's eyes. The loss of her great-grandson, whom she had longed for, was a significant blow to her.

"I miss you all too. How about we go back with Great-Grandma?"

Han Xi frowned slightly. The situation was still uncertain, and it was not suitable for the children to stay in the old house.

She turned to give Shen Jiheng a meaningful look, but he said, "Grandma is bored at home, it would be good for you to go back and keep her company."

What good is that? The situation isn't stable yet, Han Xi can't let them go back.

The children, unaware of the situation, naturally wanted to go back and jumped for joy.

However, Han Xi was uneasy, but her current situation was not suitable for her to voice her objections. She could only cast a glance at Han Yue, hoping he would find a way to keep the children.

Han Yue nodded knowingly and hurriedly said, "Grandma, you are welcome to visit my home. If you like, you can stay for a few more days, but it is not convenient for the children to go back with you for the time being."

The old lady cast a curious glance at her and asked, puzzled, "Why is that?"

Han Yue laughed and said, "Our Chuang Chuang likes to play football, and Yu Xuan is learning too. I specially invited a coach to come and teach her. Yu Mo is the same. I also found her a vocal teacher. Classes will start tomorrow."

The old lady said with emotion, "I never expected you to care so much about the children now. It's good that they can learn something. I prefer peace and quiet, so I won't disturb them."

"It's alright, it won't disturb you. I can keep you company inside, have tea and play chess, so you won't be bored." Han Yue's arrangement was quite thoughtful.

This enthusiasm caught the old lady off guard, and she quickly waved her hand.

"Never mind, I was just discharged from the hospital not long ago, I should rest at home more."

Han Yue said politely, "Since you are not feeling well, I will not force you. I will send the children back after you feel better, so as not to disturb your recuperation."

The old lady could only nod: "Then I'll trouble you to take care of them."

"As the children's grandfather, this is what I should do. I've prepared some good tea; please come and have a taste." Han Yue warmly welcomed them, and had someone bring up the prepared tea and snacks.

Han Xi secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Putting everything else aside, Han Yue's ability to deceive people hadn't diminished at all. Fortunately, he understood her intentions and kept the child; otherwise, she wouldn't know what to do.

Watching the two chat, Han Xi took the children to play in the yard and also pulled Shen Jiheng out with her.

Before she could speak, Shen Jiheng said instead, "You don't need to be in such a hurry, it's okay."

Han Xi turned to look at him, puzzled, and asked, "So you understood what I meant just now, then why did you still let the child go back with her?"

Shen Jiheng retorted, "Why not? Do you think Grandma would hurt them?"

Han Xi was speechless. It wasn't that the injury was that serious, but it wasn't impossible that they might be kept as hostages.

Besides, it's unclear whether they actually know anything about Shen Mingzhu's situation, and Han Xi doesn't want to take any risks.

“Grandma just misses them,” Shen Jiheng said with certainty.

Han Xi sighed and said, "I believe that, but don't forget, they are not descendants of the Shen family. If something really happens, it will be too late for you to stop them."

Shen Jiheng looked at her confidently and said, "The people at the old house are all my people."

"What are you trying to do? Control them this way?" Han Xi really couldn't understand him anymore.

Shen Jiheng smiled and said, "What are you thinking? Of course, I'm doing this to protect them, and of course, I also need to protect ourselves so that no one gets hurt."

Han Xi shook her head. She felt that the current situation was somewhat chaotic and she was unsure of what everyone was thinking.
