Chapter 499 Delivering the Message
Bo Siye's words froze the atmosphere. When Han Xi agreed to marry him, she asked him to choose an auspicious day, just to delay the process.
Now that Bo Siye has said this, it means he's preparing to get married.
Han Xi asked curiously, "So when will you finish choosing?"
Bo Siye lifted her chin and said, "There's no time like the present. Today is the auspicious day we've chosen."
Han Xi's face darkened; he was clearly being deliberately made difficult.
She pretended to be serious and said, "I really want to marry you, but you're just trying to brush me off with these kinds of words. You said we should find an auspicious day to register our marriage so that we won't be separated in the future."
These words made Bo Siye frown. Han Xi continued, "You said you would give me a wedding of the century, but you haven't done any of that. Now you come to me saying this. Do you think I'm stupid?"
“I’m worried that things might change if we delay. If we get married today, we can release your aunt. Isn’t that what you want?” Bo Siye threw the question back at him.
Han Xi replied, "If I'm going to get married, it will definitely be a grand and spectacular event. It won't be just a casual marriage certificate where I quietly become yours. My aunt is being well taken care of by me now, so I'll give you time to prepare for the wedding."
Now that Shen Jiheng and the others have arrived nearby, Han Xi feels even more confident and is determined not to compromise.
This stumped Bo Siye, who suggested, "We can get our marriage certificate first, and then have the wedding."
Han Xi firmly stated, "I have made myself very clear; I must do it together."
Bo Ya also stood up and said, "Marriage is a big deal. Since you sincerely want to marry her and you made that promise, you should keep it."
Bo Siye looked at the two of them, then at the Kongming lanterns outside, a subtle smile on his face.
Han Xi noticed his uneasy expression; could it be that he had sensed something was wrong?
"Alright, since you all say so, then I will respect Han Xi's opinion and get the wedding planned as soon as possible so that you can be the most beautiful bride in the world."
A sense of unease crept over Han Xi; he had a feeling that something bad was about to happen.
We must make sure to take Bo Ya away safely; if something really happens, Han Xi won't be able to handle it.
"Enjoy your viewing, I'll go take care of my own business."
Bo Siye left with a single sentence, and Han Xi took a step back, leaning against the wall and taking a deep breath.
Bo Ya quickly helped her up: "Are you alright?"
Han Xi shook his head: "I'm fine. His expression was terrifying just now. I was worried that he found out something."
Bo Ya didn't quite understand, so Han Xi leaned close to her ear and whispered, "The patterns on those Kongming lanterns in the sky were drawn by the children before. I also noticed some special patterns, which must be Ji Heng sending me a message."
Upon hearing what she said, Bo Ya quickly looked over, but found nothing unusual.
"I can't see it."
“If you can see it all, then Bo Siyue and the others must have figured it out too. I just want to figure out what Shen Jiheng is trying to convey to me.”
Bo Ya sighed: "No wonder you looked so nervous, so that's what you were worried about."
Han Xi nodded: "I'm worried that Bo Siye will notice something is wrong, and I also need to find a way to get our message out. What I'm sure of right now is that they've surrounded this place."
Worried about being overheard, Han Xi grabbed Bo Ya's hand and gestured in her palm.
Bo Ya nodded knowingly, but she also knew how difficult this task was.
Han Xi continued examining the Kongming lanterns, and a pattern caught her eye, making her expression turn serious.
Although the pattern was somewhat abstract, she clearly understood what it meant.
Han Xi held her hand and whispered, "Auntie, from now on, just pretend you're having trouble eating because of the change in environment. Don't eat anything that anyone gives you except what I give you."
Bo Ya understood from her expression and said worriedly, "You have to be careful."
Han Xi nodded: "I will. It's windy on the balcony. You go back to your room first, and I'll go downstairs and make you something to eat."
Bo Ya understood her intention and nodded, obediently returning to her room.
Han Xi must respond as soon as possible to let Shen Jiheng know that she has seen this information.
Han Xi went to the kitchen, heated the wok, poured in the oil, threw in the ingredients, and then turned the heat up to the maximum. The contents of the wok quickly burned and emitted thick smoke, and the alarm went off immediately.
Smoke filled the living room, and the bodyguard rushed in to check the situation.
"What happened? How did it start to burn?"
Han Xi said in a panic, "I don't know either. It just happened by accident. Please put out the fire quickly."
The piercing alarm blared out, and Bo Ya, upstairs, smiled with relief. Han Xi had done it.
This commotion naturally reached Shen Jiheng's ears, and he knew that this was Han Xi's response to him, meaning his plan could be implemented.
When Bo Siye rushed back after hearing the news, the kitchen was already a mess. He saw Han Xi's face was red and he walked over with concern.
"What happened to you? Are you burned?"
Han Xi shook his head and said to himself, "It's all my fault for being absent-minded and not seeing the fire, which resulted in the kitchen being in such a mess."
Bo Siye comforted her, supporting her shoulder, "It's alright, it's good that you're safe. What would you like to eat tonight? I'll arrange for someone to deliver the food."
Han Xi frowned and said, "My aunt didn't eat any of the food I made for her at noon. She said she was having some trouble adjusting to the environment after returning to China, and she was also feeling down so she couldn't eat."
"She'll find something to eat when she's hungry, so you should take care of yourself first." Bo Siyue said with concern, gently wiping the dirt off her face with a tissue.
If we disregard Bo Siyue's actions, he is actually a very gentle and considerate person.
Seeing that Han Xi's gaze was much gentler, Bo Siye felt a little happy.
Why are you looking at me like that?
Han Xi smiled and said, "It feels like going back to the past. Back then, you always took care of me like this."
Bo Siye said gently, "We will be very happy in the future, and I will give you the best of everything."
Han Xi smiled and nodded, then checked the time and said, "It's time to order. I wonder if they have sweet and sour pork ribs? I'd like some."
Bo Siye smiled indulgently and said, "Anything you want to eat, we have."
Han Xi ordered several dishes and handed them to him, and Bo Siye immediately instructed people to prepare them.
He hoped that Han Xi could treat him with the same attitude in the future, and he believed that the two of them would be happy together.
An hour later, a food truck stopped at the door. Bo Siye told Li Yuan to take people to pick up the food and not to let outsiders into the villa.
Seeing that the lunch boxes had been distributed to everyone, Bo Siye led her to the dining room and said regretfully, "I originally wanted you to cook for me tonight, but unfortunately I won't have the chance."
Han Xi opened the food box in front of her and smiled, "There will be other opportunities in the future, so there's no need to rush. This sweet and sour pork rib looks delicious, let me try it."
Han Xi picked up a piece of pork rib and put it in her mouth, gesturing for Bo Siye to eat quickly.
"Eat with me."
Bo Siye was in a great mood. Since it was a rare opportunity for Han Xi to invite him, he certainly couldn't miss it.
Han Xi chewed slowly, watching Bo Siye finish all the food on the table, but she felt very flustered.
