Chapter 90 The Two Wise Elders

Chapter 90 The Two Wise Elders

Under the excited gaze of the Gu family, Han Xi received the test results, which clearly stated in black and white that they were related by blood.

But how could this be...?

In her memory, her mother claimed to be an orphan and never mentioned her family; otherwise, they would have started searching for their relatives long ago.

Grandma Gu stepped forward, took her hand, and hugged her tightly, tears streaming down her face.

"I knew this time there wouldn't be any mistakes, Han Xi. You are my granddaughter, you are my family!"

Han Xi was completely bewildered; the change was so drastic that she found it hard to accept.

Since her mother passed away three years ago, she has subconsciously felt that she no longer has any family.

A man like Han Yue is utterly unfit to be a father, and Han Xiao is even less so.

Now, this sudden appearance of a bunch of relatives, the Gu family whom she had once rejected, has left her at a loss.

The old man wiped away his tears and stepped forward, saying with a heavy heart, "Heaven rewards those who persevere, and we have found you. Han Xi, don't worry, from now on the Gu family will be your support, and I will not let anyone bully you."

Gu Hongyi leaned closer and said, "Han Xi, I am your uncle. I never expected that we would have this connection."

Han Xi really didn't expect that she and her enemy Gu Hanxi would actually be cousins.

Aunt Ding Shan seized the opportunity to say, "Han Xi, we are really destined to meet. You and our Han Xi are sisters, and even your names sound the same. We know that she did something to wrong you in the past. For the sake of our family, can you forgive her?"

“That’s what I mean too. We’re all family, so let’s not cause any trouble. Try to find a way to reduce her sentence and release her as soon as possible,” Gu Hongyi echoed.

Han Xi was amused and annoyed. Ding Shan had already started trying to establish a connection before they had even officially recognized each other. It turned out that she was just trying to save Gu Hanxi. She really went to great lengths.

When Gu Hongyi and his wife learned that Han Xi was the daughter of their lost sister, they finally saw hope.

These past few days they've tried every possible way to find Han Xi but have been blocked. Now, it's like fate has brought her home.

Han Xi looked at everyone and asked coldly, "Did you come here specifically to claim kinship so that I would let Gu Hanxi go? If so, then you can leave. I've been alone for so many years and don't need hypocritical relatives."

The old man didn't ask too much about his granddaughter's matter. Seeing Han Xi's angry expression, he asked curiously, "Han Xi, tell your grandfather what exactly happened."

Han Xi didn't want to bring up that painful past again; such matters should be resolved by their own people.

Zhuo Qingqian stepped forward and stormed up to Ding Shan.

"I'm here to speak on Han Xi's behalf. Your good daughter, Gu Hanxi, in order to fight for Han Xi's husband, had someone push her down the stairs, breaking two ribs and causing multiple serious abrasions."

Upon hearing this, Ding Shan's face turned pale instantly, and she silently took two steps back.

Zhuo Qingqian continued, "Not only that, your daughter has been finding all sorts of ways to cause trouble for Han Xi. In the end, she was so shameless as to kidnap herself and have a miscarriage in order to frame Han Xi and try to kill her. It's already a mercy that such a person is sentenced to five years. How dare you come here to plead for her?"

The elderly couple's eyes widened as they listened, and the old man pounded his chest in anger.

Grandma Gu asked with concern, "Han Xi, is what your friend said true?"

Han Xi nodded: "It's true, so what are your plans?"

Just when Han Xi thought they would also protect Gu Hanxi, the old man gritted his teeth and made a statement.

"The punishment is too lenient. Such a wicked and evil creature should be kept in prison forever."

Han Xi looked at her in astonishment, and Old Madam Gu nodded: "The old man is right. If anyone dares to plead for her, don't blame me for turning against them."

Zhuo Qingqian smiled and said, "It seems that there are still reasonable people in the Gu family."

After saying that, he gestured to Han Xi, expressing his joy that she had found her family.

Han Xi cast a grateful glance at her; in this world, only Zhuo Qingqian truly understood her.

Gu Hongyi and his wife dared not utter another word and had no choice but to slink away.

Looking into the tearful eyes of the two elderly people, Han Xi opened her arms and hugged them, hoping that her mother in heaven could see that she had been reunited with her parents.

"What? Han Xi is the Gu family's granddaughter!"

When Shen Jiheng heard Qin Chuan's report, he was filled with disbelief. How could these people who were completely unrelated be from the same family?

Qin Chuan nodded: "At noon, Grandpa Gu took the paternity test to his wife. I also inquired with the testing agency, and it is indeed real."

Qin Chuan was also surprised when he heard the news, so to avoid any problems, he verified it before reporting it.

Shen Jiheng frowned; this was troublesome.

The Gu family elders and his grandfather were close friends. If they stepped in to help Han Xi, then he would have no chance of winning the divorce.

He had already received the court summons, but he didn't take it seriously at all.

And then, this happens at this crucial juncture.

Where is Han Xi?

"She has already returned to the old man's home."

Shen Jiheng clenched her fist. Based on her understanding of Han Xi, this person was very aloof. Even if he knew they were family, he wouldn't easily go back with them.

This must be because she has powerful backers to oppose me. Does she think she can escape my grasp this way?

He will absolutely not let go.

"Have your lawyers ready; no matter what connections you use, you can't get a divorce."

“I know that, I will take care of it again.”

Shen Jiheng felt a vague unease, as if something bad was about to happen.

When he returned home in the evening, Aunt Wang kept giving him meaningful glances from the yard.

Shen Jiheng was confused. "Aunt Wang, what are you doing?"

Before Aunt Wang could answer, a deep, hoarse, and authoritative voice came from inside the house: "She probably wanted to let you know that I've arrived."

Upon hearing this voice, Shen Jiheng frowned deeply. Han Xi was moving too fast. On the same day, he not only recognized his relatives, but he also managed to bring back his grandfather who was recuperating in Wutai Mountain.

"What are you still doing outside? Get in here!"

Shen Jiheng sighed. It seemed there was no escaping it this time.

He entered the living room and saw Han Xi sitting on the sofa, but she didn't even glance at him.

His gaze fell on the table, where various pieces of evidence were laid out, along with a conspicuous divorce agreement.

All of this happened so fast that he had no time to prepare.

Old Master Shen stared at him with a serious expression and sharp eyes.

"Shen Jiheng, you have truly disappointed me to the extreme. I never imagined that in the few years I was gone, you would turn into such a despicable person. Take a good look at yourself and see what good things you have done."

Shen Jiheng said with a headache, "Grandpa, you didn't even tell me you were coming back so I could have picked you up."

"Don't change the subject. I told you to keep an eye on what's on the table." Old Master Shen has been recuperating peacefully on Mount Wutai for years, completely oblivious to the outside world.

He believed his grandson could handle things well, but today, when the Gu family elders contacted him personally, he learned what kind of good deeds his scoundrel grandson had done.

Shen Jiheng looked at Han Xi with displeasure and said coldly, "Han Xi, you've gone too far. We can handle our own affairs. Why did you have to bother Grandpa?"
