Chapter 180
Inside the train carriage.
Xingnuo was sitting in the middle back seat. He didn't quite understand the situation when he first got on, so he could only look around the carriage silently.
The carriage is no different from ordinary train carriages, with two seats on the left and three seats on the right.
The space is narrow, there is no small table, and there are no station instructions on the carriage. All information has to rely on that strange broadcast.
There were a few people sitting sporadically in the front row of the carriage, and very few in the back row, but the number of people sitting in the middle was relatively dense.
This is also the reason why Xingnuo didn't bother to do anything else as soon as he got in the car and took An Zimo to sit down first.
The two office workers who sat down a step later had no choice but to sit in the front row because the middle seats were already full.
Xingnuo guessed that it was probably because the front and back seats were relatively close to the door of the carriage, and everyone was on guard against unknown dangers.
After all, no one knows whether the person on the bus is a human or a monster.
While Xingnuo was observing secretly, the rest of the people in the carriage were also observing him silently.
Seeing that Xingnuo had a childish face, clear eyes, and that he and An Zimo were both carrying schoolbags, they made a rough judgment.
These should be two high school students.
Across the aisle, the kind-looking sister turned her head and asked:
"Little brother, are you students? Did you get on the bus accidentally?"
An Zimo was a chatterbox. The depressing and quiet atmosphere in the carriage was driving him crazy. Finally, an older sister came to talk to him, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he was silenced by Xingnuo.
"Accident? It's not really an accident. I just didn't expect this place to be so weird."
I originally wanted to test whether these two people were players or ordinary people who had mistakenly entered the dungeon, but I didn't expect that the fair and tender little curly-haired boy would not respond and spoke ambiguously.
The players, who were originally certain that the two were just ordinary people, pursed their lips and their eyes inadvertently glanced at Xingnuo.
Players will have various props in their hands and look calm and indifferent, making them easy to distinguish from ordinary people who become panicked and confused as soon as they get on the bus.
But when Xingnuo and An Zimo arrived, they quickly grabbed the middle seat and remained quiet, which made them a little unsure.
Could it be that he is a powerful player?
Unable to find out anything, the female player gave up asking questions and stood up to go to the front row to talk to two office workers.
The two office workers were not so vigilant and blurted out all their information when asked.
"No, what on earth is this place? Why are you guys so silent in the car?"
"A horror movie? I've been working overtime and ended up in this damn place. What a shitty company. I'll quit as soon as I get out!"
"Brother, are you also from our company? Which department? I haven't seen you before!"
Hearing this, Xingnuo raised his head and looked at the two office workers who were talking. His gaze rested on one of them, and the beeping sound in his mind suddenly sounded again.
He had a bad feeling, and before he could shout out, he saw the situation in front of him suddenly change.
The female player had obviously tricked the two men into talking, and just as she was about to leave, she was suddenly stabbed in the chest by a claw.
The office worker who had just spoken had a crazy look in his eyes, drooling from the corners of his mouth, and spider-web-like marks began to appear on his cheeks.
He laughed and bit off the female player's head. Seeing the incredulous looks from the others and the horrified look from another office worker next to him, the smile on his face grew even bigger.
He devoured the female player quickly, turned around, and looked at the office worker who was crawling into the aisle, his voice filled with satisfaction.
"It's delicious. I tricked another one into giving me a try."
"Can I eat you next?"
The office worker rolled in the aisle, his body pressed against the seat, the panic and fear in his eyes real, his legs even so weak that he couldn't stand up at all.
"You, you're a monster!"
The corners of the monster's mouth were pulled up to his ears, and he had a weird smile on his face. It was as if he had just eaten human blood. Blood was constantly flowing down his jaw, making him look eerie and terrifying.
"Of course I am. It's a shame that I can only eat one now that the car is gone. You'll be next. Don't worry."
The office worker was almost scared to death. He climbed up using his hands and feet, rushed to the back seat of the car screaming, and huddled in the corner, trembling.
All this happened so quickly that not only Xingnuo and An Zimo were stunned, but also some other people who had been on the bus not long ago had even deeper dejection in their eyes.
They smiled bitterly, as if they could not see the future at all.
An Zimo's original desire to talk to others completely faded away. He sat down in a daze, his brain shut down, and it took him a long time to react.
"This, this is the copy?"
Xingnuo sighed and nodded, not looking at the blood in front of him. He lowered his eyes and thought quietly.
The two of them were silent for a few minutes. This suffocating feeling made An Zimo feel like the game was over in the next second. He leaned over and asked in a low voice:
"Xingnuo, why are you so calm? Aren't you panicking at all?"
Xingnuo raised his head, his dark obsidian eyes flashing with a little light, nodded, and whispered to him:
"Panic, but we can't be exposed now."
An Zimo was simply a curious baby and asked, "Why?"
Xingnuo looked around, making sure everyone's attention was focused on the monster in front, and continued in a low voice:
"There are a total of forty-eight people in this carriage, but there are differences between them."
"If you look closely, some people are dressed neatly and have nothing in their hands but look calm. Some people are just pretending to be calm, with fear and numbness in their eyes from time to time."
"Did you find anything?"
An Zimo thought of his cousin and this terrifying copy. After a while, he suddenly said:
"Could it be that the previous group of people are the players my cousin mentioned earlier?"
Xingnuo nodded and looked at An Zimo with appreciation, his eyes narrowed.
"Do you think that if danger occurs, will these players push ordinary people out to save their lives?"
When An Zimo heard Xing Nuo's words, his scalp went numb and he almost exploded.
"But, but, aren't we all human? Just because they are players, they can push ordinary people out?"
Xingnuo didn't want to see these things happen, but his mind was very flexible. Looking at the scene in front of him, he automatically analyzed a series of things as if by instinct.
"Although I didn't want it to happen, the fact is that it is so bloody. The boy who was two rows away from us had a broken arm and was bleeding all the time."
"In addition to numbness, there was also anger and resentment in his eyes. The look he gave a certain player was as if he wished he could die with them."
"What does this mean? This boy was most likely pushed out by these players before, and only survived by breaking his arm."
The more Xingnuo analyzed, the colder An Zimo felt.
His lips had turned completely pale and he was unable to speak for a long time.
"The number of ordinary people is far less than that of players. It is estimated that there are only a dozen or so. Moreover, after we came in, some people came to test us. This shows that in this dungeon, unfamiliar players cannot confirm each other's identities."
Xingnuo was very rational. He started thinking and quickly analyzed the current situation.
"We can't reveal that we are ordinary people, at least not now. We have to make others wary and make them think that we have means to save our lives or attack. Only in this way can we survive."
An Zimo was dumbfounded. He could only look at Xingnuo's face and sighed:
"You are the oldest one!"
Xingnuo accepted the compliment. He was naturally optimistic and his smile could easily infect others.
"Let's survive the first wave and see what happens in this carriage."
An Zimo nodded, and followed Xingnuo's example, silently observing the situation in the carriage.
Perhaps because a monster in the front row had already revealed its identity, everyone was on high alert at this moment.
Xingnuo observed that there seemed to be different camps among the players. One team of players was quite arrogant, and one of them was holding a toy gun and playing with it.
The other team was very quiet. A girl kept looking at the boy with a broken arm. After thinking for a long time, she secretly went over and handed him a spray.
Ordinary people who got on board earlier have experienced more. Although they are still not quite clear about what players are, they can already see that these people are capable and have means.
Some of the monsters are extremely brutal, and if they cannot be defeated, they will simply use human lives to finish them off.
Anyway, the amount of food the monsters can eat is limited, so it will never be their turn.
The boy was startled for a moment when he saw the girl coming, but after the girl pressed the spray button, the bleeding arm actually stopped.
The girl covered it with her body, quickly stuffed the spray into the boy's pocket, and turned away.
The boy understood something, but the doubts in his heart did not diminish at all. His lips trembled twice, and he really wanted to ask him if he could still go home alive?
But in the end he just put away the spray, lowered his head and remained silent.
Xingnuo was sitting in the back, and was able to see the whole scene from this angle. He sighed softly, feeling that there was still hope.
At least the other team of players seemed to have some kindness.
As soon as Xingnuo withdrew his gaze, he realized that someone was observing him in secret.
This look seemed to be unconcealed at all, just staring straight at Xingnuo without blinking.
Xingnuo's scalp numbed for a moment, then he calmed down and looked back.
The one looking at him was the man holding a toy gun.
He was also the one the boy with the broken arm looked at with hatred.
The man didn't seem to think Xingnuo would look back at him. He grinned and made a shooting gesture at him.
Xingnuo was not afraid, so I can't be afraid now.
He and An Zimo's calmness and composure were all fake. In fact, they had no means to save their lives and would be easily exposed if there was any danger.
The people on the other side are very smart. Once they show their weakness in this kind of eye testing, it will be easy to see that they are not players at all.
The man tried it out, then withdrew his gaze with a sneer, and crossed his arms, as if he didn't believe Xingnuo's disguise at all.
"What's wrong, Brother Feng? Do you suspect this boy is a monster?"
The teammates next to him also looked over there, but didn't notice anything strange, so they could only look away.
"Of course not. How can a monster be so cunning? How dare you lie to me as soon as you get on the bus?"
The monster they encountered was just like the one who had disguised himself as an office worker before. It had no patience at all and would reveal itself and devour flesh and blood as soon as it found an opportunity.
"I just think that this person looks a bit like the one that President Sang asked me to kill in the dungeon before."
The teammate was puzzled for a moment, then touched his chin and said:
"Then he must be a player?"
Brother Feng sneered, his eyes sinister: "No, on the contrary, he is definitely not a player!"
