Chapter 52
After Xingnuo turned into a rag doll, his ugly little face was full of confusion.
He listened to the green-headed doll talking about how to turn back into a human, and his little head felt dizzy.
"Xiaolu, I don't quite understand."
Xiaolu talked for quite some time, but was speechless when she saw Xingnuo still had a silly look on his face, with a little red heart drawn with colored thread on his ugly face.
"Hey, you're really ugly. Never mind. I'll tell you in simple terms."
"We are now a wish doll. As long as someone buys us and fulfills the owner's wish and gets the owner's sincere gratitude, we will naturally change back to normal!"
"This is the only way for us to become human! Compared to the humans who failed in other copies and were directly swallowed by monsters, we at least still have hope!"
The green-headed doll was quite good at comforting himself, with an expectant smile on his face.
Xingnuo seemed to understand, touched his little face made of rough cloth with his little round hands, and nodded.
"Okay, but, but what if I can't fulfill other people's wishes?"
He is just a small rag doll now, and it is difficult for him to move. How can he fulfill other people's wishes?
The green-headed doll's optimistic attitude was immediately discouraged by Xingnuo.
"Can't you think of something better?! What if we succeed?"
The little green doll was so angry that he put his little round hands on his waist, which made him look even funnier than before.
Xingnuo hummed twice in a very good-natured manner, stretched out his little round hand, and patted the green-headed doll's belly.
"Little Green, don't be angry."
The green-headed doll whose belly was patted was speechless and waved away Xingnuo's short hands. Another doll squatted in the corner of the window, shut up and was too lazy to communicate with him anymore.
Xingnuo moved his small body and came close to the green-headed doll. His face was a little wrinkled, and he put the little love heart on his face in front of the green doll.
"Xiaolu, don't be unhappy. I'll give you a little heart."
The green-headed doll looked up and saw the little heart drawn with colored thread on Xingnuo's face. It was so ugly that it was speechless.
"Go away! I don't want to look at your clown face!"
He watched it for so long that he almost vomited!
Xingnuo was scolded by the green-headed doll. He made a slow "oh" sound and curled up in the corner of the window, not moving.
When the green-headed doll saw that the clown doll didn't move, he thought that what he said was too much and couldn't help but feel a little regretful.
"Um, Xingnuo, right? What did you do before?"
The green-headed doll, who was trying to make conversation, twisted his little face to look at the window, acting awkwardly and just wouldn't look in Xingnuo's direction.
Xingnuo, who was dozing off, woke up dazedly, groaned, and saw that he was still the ugly doll, still staying in the glass window, and sighed.
The kid is not dreaming.
Xingnuo spoke with a rough voice:
"I used to go to kindergarten and I got up very early every day to go to school."
The green-headed doll listened and couldn't help feeling a little confused.
"Kindergarten? What's that?"
It has been too long since the green-headed doll became a rag doll, and its memory has become vague little by little, and it has almost forgotten its memories as a human.
When I heard Xingnuo mention kindergarten, the green-headed doll always felt like a very unfamiliar word.
Seeing this, Xingnuo did not laugh at the green-headed kid for not having attended kindergarten, but patiently explained to him:
"It's a place where you can learn a lot of things. There are teachers, a lot of little friends, slides, swings..."
As Xingnuo said this, her nose felt sore and she wanted to go back to kindergarten.
Seeing that Xingnuo was getting more and more upset, the green-headed doll sighed and interrupted:
"Okay, okay, I don't want to know anymore."
Xingnuo had no choice but to stop, leaning his clown face against the glass window, staring at the golden sky outside.
"Xiaolu, why is there no one outside?"
The display window is similar to a glass cabinet for claw machine dolls, and is located at the corner of an alley.
Behind the window, there is a dilapidated and old store without a sign.
According to Xiaolu, this shop is opened by the uncle who owns the shop. He has collected various dolls and placed them in the window for customers to choose from.
Almost all the dolls in the window had been picked up, and in the end only the green-headed dolls and clown dolls were left, which were so ugly that they were unbearable to look at.
The little green doll is always impatient and looks at Xingnuo speechlessly.
"Are you stupid? It's the middle of the day, there must be no one here!"
Xingnuo continued to make a slow "oh" sound. After the sleepiness went away, he felt a little better and laid his whole body on the window glass.
Accompanied by the snoring of the green-headed doll in its sleep, Xingnuo sat motionless in the corner of the window, staring outside.
The dazzling golden sunlight in the sky gradually dimmed, and the inside of the small window was no longer blinded by the light.
Xingnuo looked at the sky outside, the dilapidated streets, and the occasional pedestrians passing by in a hurry, and his little head was constantly thinking.
Xiaolu woke up halfway and yawned. Seeing Xingnuo's serious expression and Xiaobu's thoughtful look, he couldn't help but sneer.
"What are you thinking? What's wrong? No one is coming to buy it. Can you run away by yourself?"
Xingnuo turned his little head and tilted it. His hairy head seemed extremely sloppy, like a defective doll in a factory.
What he said surprised the green-headed doll.
"Why not? Xiaolu, if we run away, we can go out and look for our brother and father."
Staying in the window, they might have to wait a day, a week, or a month?
If the tone is nice, perhaps a passerby in a hurry will stop and buy them.
But if they're unlucky, they might have to wait forever.
Although Xingnuo is young, he never likes to wait passively. He is born with an adventurous spirit and always wants to take the initiative to control his destiny.
Facing the ridicule of the green-headed doll, Xingnuo snorted and raised his ugly little face.
"Although we are rag dolls, we can still move. As long as we keep moving forward, we will find our daddy!"
The green-headed doll's mouth twitched when he heard Xingnuo's firm tone.
"What if you find it? I have forgotten who I am or what my name is, and I don't remember if I have any relatives at home. Even if you still remember, can you be sure that when you return home, your father and brother will recognize you?"
The green-headed doll's voice was cold and mocking:
"You are now just an unlovable clown doll!"
No one will recognize you!
Xingnuo was hit hard for a while, but he was not discouraged.
He nodded his head confidently:
"Dad and my brother will recognize me. Dad said that the cub is unique!"
Even if it becomes ugly or weird, it's still a baby!
Dad will definitely like it!
Hearing Xingnuo's confidence, the green-headed doll was too lazy to argue with him.
Crossing his legs and leaning against the window, the green-headed doll spoke lazily:
"Well, since you are so powerful, you should first think of a way to get out of this window."
He remembered something, and said "oh" again, reminding:
"By the way, the shop owner will come to check before going to bed at night. If he finds that you are trying to escape, you will die!"
Xingnuo nodded.
"Okay, then I'll wait until the evening, until the shop owner has finished checking, and then I'll leave."
The green-headed doll was sleepy again. After becoming a rag doll, he always wanted to sleep, and sometimes he could sleep for two or three days.
"Okay, I'm going to sleep, don't wake me when you leave."
The green-headed doll yawned, lay down in the glass window, and fell into a deep sleep without moving.
Xingnuo sat with his doll beside the window glass, staring at the fiery red sunset and counting the clouds slowly dispersing in the sky.
Finally, the sky was gradually covered by the black night.
The shop owner arrived late. His fat body made it very difficult for him to walk. He was carrying an old glass-covered lamp and walked to the glass cabinet.
He leaned inside and took a look, and saw the last two ugly dolls staying quietly in the window, and he snorted coldly.
"What a useless thing! You stay here all day and don't attract many customers!"
Looking down, he saw the clown doll's dark little eyes staring at him without blinking, and the shop owner let out a light click of his tongue in impatience.
"So ugly, no wonder he was left behind!"
Xingnuo shook his head and retorted:
"I'm not ugly. Besides, it doesn't matter if I'm ugly. There will always be people who like me."
The shop owner laughed and said in a sarcastic tone:
"Like? With your clown-like appearance, no one will like you!"
Xingnuo snorted softly, raised her little face, and showed her little round fingers to the shop owner.
"Susu, look, there is a little red heart on the baby's face. It's very beautiful!"
Other dolls may not have this!
The cub is indeed unique!
The shop owner looked at the little red heart drawn with cheap colored thread, his mouth twitched and he remained speechless for a long time.
"Okay, clown doll, be quiet. Stay in the window tomorrow and attract more customers. It would be best if they can buy both you and the green-headed doll!"
“That way I won’t lose money.”
The shop owner grumbled, turned around, dragged his bloated body back, and complained in a low voice:
"I don't know what I was thinking at the time. Why did I blindly pick up these two ugly dolls? Even when they were put in the window, no one bought them."
After being belittled for a while, Xingnuo was not angry. He leaned against the window, poked the little red heart on his face at the glass that reflected his shadow.
It looks good, Xingnuo nodded confidently.
Although the doll's round face is weird, with loose threads in several places, its eyes are like small black ink dots, and its clothes are still a deathly fluorescent orange.
But at first glance, it's also quite unique.
Xingnuo has been through a lot in recent times and is no longer the little kid who cries at every turn.
He is young, but his faith is stronger than most.
Xingnuo must escape to find his father and brother!
Sitting obediently in the window, Xingnuo waited for the night to fall completely dark.
The inky night sky seemed to flow on the ground. The streets were empty and silent except for a few old street lamps.
Xingnuo tilted his head to look into the store, made sure the owner would not come, turned around, and began to prepare to escape.
There is a small glass window on the front of the glass case that can be opened, and another exit is at the bottom.
If someone takes a fancy to a certain rag doll, they can select it after inserting a coin, and the iron claws above will pick up the rag doll and throw it into the passage below.
The rag doll will slide along the passage and directly fall to the ground outside.
Xingnuo had been to the mall with his father before and had seen many children catching dolls. He knew that this passage could lead to the exit.
He stepped on his calves and climbed up to the entrance of the passage with great difficulty. He stood on the edge of the passage and jumped down with all his strength.
