Chapter 44: Unexpected Visitors on the Set

"You performed well today. If nothing unexpected happens, there should be some roles for you to choose from in the next two days, but they are not important roles." Sister Wei said objectively.

Chu Zhaozhao didn't mind and said frankly: "It's better to have a role than no role. Even if it's a small role, I will play it well and let others see my ability."

"It's good that you have this awareness. I'm just afraid that you're too proud and unwilling to take on certain roles." Sister Wei expressed her concerns.

Chu Zhaozhao didn't know why Sister Wei had such an idea, so she asked curiously, "Sister Wei, have any of the artists you've managed in the past been particularly mischievous?"

"Why do you ask?"

Seeing that Sister Wei didn't deny it, Chu Zhaozhao felt that it was most likely true.

"I have indeed managed such artists. If you were such a person, I would have given up on you long ago." Sister Wei said truthfully.

Chu Zhaozhao promised Sister Wei, "Sister Wei, I assure you, I'm definitely not that kind of person. I really love acting. No matter what role it is, I will do my best to play it to the best of my ability, so Sister Wei, don't worry."

"Okay." Sister Wei replied with a smile.

As soon as she finished speaking, Sister Wei received a notice saying that the variety show Chu Zhaozhao participated in last time would be broadcast a week earlier because there was a problem with the artist behind the show.

Sister Wei thought this was a good thing and accepted it with pleasure. After all, maintaining exposure is the most important thing for an artist.

"Your video should attract a lot of fans. You should improve your social media marketing. Stop being so down-to-earth and acting like a bunch of random people."

"Sister Wei, isn't my social media pretty good..." Chu Zhaozhao didn't dare to refute Sister Wei.

Since meeting Xu Yu, Chu Zhaozhao realized that celebrities’ social media accounts are actually managed by dedicated people, and their styles and words are all carefully considered by their teams.

Unlike Chu Zhaozhao’s social media, it is probably not even as exquisite as some fans’ club members. It can be said that it has nothing to do with being a female star.

"Sister Wei is right."

Chu Zhaozhao convinced herself, so there was no need for Sister Wei to say more.

"I'll ask my assistant to pick you up to take you to the set tomorrow. Don't oversleep." Sister Wei said and left.

Chu Zhaozhao was notified to join the crew before she even knew what role she would play. She stayed there confused for a while before going upstairs.

After Chu Zhaozhao returned home and sat for a while, Sister Wei sent her the script. Chu Zhaozhao couldn't help but sigh that Sister Wei was indeed an impetuous woman.

"Zhao Zhao, have you eaten?"

Chu Huaiyang came back from outside with food in his hands.

"Third brother, have you gone out to buy food? Why don't you order takeout, which would be more convenient." Chu Zhaozhao stood up and took the things from Chu Huaiyang's hand.

Chu Huaiyang explained: "I went out to take care of some things today and just came back. I haven't eaten yet. I don't know if you have eaten yet, so I bought a bowl of wontons. If you're not hungry..."

"Third brother, I haven't had dinner yet, let's eat together." Chu Zhaozhao interrupted Chu Huaiyang.

Chu Huaiyang opened the wontons with a smile, and considerately put the spoon into the bowl.

"Third brother, what did you do today?" Chu Zhaozhao asked while eating wontons.

"My friend has a project, and I'm going to take a look. If it works, I can prove to my dad that I can do it and that I'm not a complete failure."

Chu Zhaozhao’s first reaction was that Chu Huaiyang had been deceived, and her eyes widened.

"Third brother, you haven't been scammed, have you? Don't believe those claims of earning tens of thousands of yuan a month, they're all fake. You're too impatient now, and others have just spotted you..."

"Zhao Zhao, don't you also believe that third brother can achieve great things?" Chu Huaiyang was obviously a little lonely.

Chu Zhaozhao hurriedly explained: "No, Third Brother, of course I believe you can do it, but..."

"Zhao Zhao, stop talking. You just don't believe me." Chu Huaiyang said angrily.

Seeing Chu Huaiyang suddenly stand up, Chu Zhaozhao didn't know what to say.

Chu Huaiyang didn't wait for a suitable answer, picked up the towel and walked towards the bathroom.

Chu Zhaozhao sighed, packed up the things in the living room and returned to her room.

Considering that she would be joining the crew tomorrow, Chu Zhaozhao practiced her lines over and over again in front of the mirror.

Chu Huaiyang turned on the shower in the bathroom and let the cold water pour down on his body. The moment the cold water touched his skin, he suddenly realized that he shouldn't have treated Chu Zhaozhao in that way.

But after so many years, he had long been accustomed to this attitude, and Chu Huaiyang fell into regret.

"Zhao Zhao?" Chu Huaiyang went to knock on Chu Zhaozhao's door.

But Chu Zhaozhao was wearing headphones and listening to her lines, and didn't notice Chu Huaiyang outside at all. Chu Huaiyang thought that Chu Zhaozhao didn't want to pay attention to him.

Chu Huaiyang lay on the sofa, his eyes fixed on Chu Zhaozhao's door, and fell asleep unknowingly.

The next day, Chu Zhaozhao went out very early, while Chu Huaiyang was still sleeping soundly on the sofa. When passing by the living room, Chu Zhaozhao deliberately left quietly.

"Sister Zhaozhao, I brought you breakfast. Would you like to have something to eat on your way?" the assistant said as he handed over the breakfast enthusiastically.

Chu Zhaozhao took a look and saw that it was still a basket of dumplings, and smiled happily.

"I haven't eaten Xiaolongbao for a long time. I want to praise you today." Chu Zhaozhao said after getting in the car and fastening his seat belt.

The assistant drove the car and reminded Chu Zhaozhao what to do and what arrangements to make after entering the set, but Chu Zhaozhao was just busy eating.

"Sister Zhaozhao, did you hear what I just said to you?" the assistant asked worriedly.

"I heard you. I'll go in and put on makeup first, and then wait for the director to call me." Chu Zhaozhao replied.

The assistant was relieved when he saw that Chu Zhaozhao had heard it.

In fact, the truth is that the assistant always says the same thing, and Chu Zhaozhao had memorized it long ago.

"Here, here, Sister Zhaozhao, your dressing room is here."

After finally entering the set, the assistant looked at the time and became anxious, and pulled Chu Zhaozhao away.

"Don't be so anxious. It will take a long time before it's my turn." Chu Zhaozhao lay on the ground in a Buddhist manner.

The assistant urged Chu Zhaozhao to hurry up, pushed Chu Zhaozhao onto the chair, and told Chu Zhaozhao to sit quietly.

"Sister Wei told me that you can't walk around randomly this time, for fear that you might take pictures of something again." The assistant whispered.

Chu Zhaozhao suddenly realized, and then asked, "Then it's okay for me to go to the bathroom, right?"

"Okay, but there's a time limit. You have to come back quickly, otherwise I'll come looking for you," the assistant said seriously.

Chu Zhaozhao immediately got up and went to find the toilet. This was her first time on this crew, and even though she saw the sign, she couldn't find where the toilet was.

"Brother Huai'an, long time no see. I didn't go to your birthday party last time because I was too busy..."

"It's okay, I know you're busy."

[Oh my god, isn't this my eldest brother? Why is he here on the set? And was the person who just spoke so softly Lin Moyi? How can she be so gentle with that shrill voice?]

Chu Zhaozhao hid immediately. This time, Chu Zhaozhao learned his lesson and didn't plan to get close to listen.
