Chapter 48: Fighting with Lin's Mother

Chu Huaiyu sat down happily and started eating before his elders even started eating.

Father Lin glanced at Chu Huaiyu and said nothing. Instead, he picked up the wine glass and said some polite words to Chu Rong.

"Huaian, give Uncle Lin a toast. He came here specifically to see you."

Chu Rong spoke, and Chu Huaian immediately raised his glass.

"Dad, don't let Huaian toast you. I have things to deal with at the company tonight. How can I drink too much?"

Lin Moyi stopped Lin's father from drinking the wine glass, and Chu Rong and Lin's father smiled knowingly.

"Mo Yi, you never defended me like this at home, so why are you defending this kid now that you're at the Chu family?" Father Lin said deliberately.

Chu Zhaozhao realized something was wrong and took the initiative to say, "Sister Mo Yi is just concerned about Big Brother. It shows that we young people get along well with each other. There's nothing wrong with that, right?"

"Yes, Sister Mo Yi has always treated us like this." Chu Tianyi also echoed Chu Zhaozhao's words.

Although Chu Zhaozhao didn't know why Chu Tianyi agreed with her, she didn't think there was anything wrong with it and let Chu Tianyi go.

Chu Tianyi looked at Lin's mother and said, "Auntie, when you came last time, you said you would teach me embroidery. I wonder if you have time today. I happen to have a pair of embroidery in my room."

"Look at Tianyi, and look at yourself. I wanted to teach you my skills, but you were unwilling. Now someone is willing to learn." Lin's mother smiled happily.

Cheng Feifei smiled with satisfaction and poured wine for everyone at the table.

"Uncle Lin, I want to toast you with this glass of wine..."

"You guys take your time eating, I'm done, Mom and Dad, I'm leaving."

Before Chu Huaian could finish his words, Chu Huaiyu finished his meal and stood up without even bothering to wipe his mouth.

Chu Rong got angry and said angrily, "Stop, what are you doing?"

"Dad, I have something urgent to do. I'm leaving now. Please take your time eating. Sorry everyone."

Chu Huaiyu ran out after he finished speaking. Chu Zhaozhao looked at Chu Rong's face. Perhaps he was concerned about the guests, so he didn't dare to say anything more.

"By the way, Brother Chu, where is your third son? His name is Chu Huaiyang, right? Why haven't I seen him?" Father Lin asked curiously.

Cheng Feifei smiled awkwardly and said, "I don't know what this kid is doing today. I guess he'll be back for dinner later. You don't have to worry about him. Just eat first. As long as you're happy, that's all."

"Really? I recently heard from Mr. Gao's son that your third son is starting a business. I don't know what it is specifically, but it doesn't seem very reliable?" Lin's mother said in a speculative tone.

Chu Zhaozhao's heart ached when she saw Chu Rong's face becoming increasingly ugly. Cheng Feifei also noticed the change in Chu Rong's expression.

"Mom and Dad, please eat. And Uncle Lin, you and Auntie should eat more. The dishes cooked by Aunt Huang are delicious." Chu Tianyi said immediately.

The atmosphere became a little awkward. Father Lin glanced at Mother Lin, not knowing whether he was blaming her for saying something she shouldn't have said.

"Mom, look at you, you're watching TV again. I told you not to mess around, but now you've confused it all. How could it be Brother Huaiyang? Your uncle and aunt will be worried later."

Lin Mo was afraid of angering Chu Rong and Cheng Feifei, so he explained for his mother.

Cheng Feifei stopped talking, and everyone at the table lost interest in eating.

"Mom, Dad, Uncle, and Auntie, something happened at the company. I have to go to a meeting. You guys take your time eating." Chu Huaian stood up and left after saying that.

The dinner was going well, but Lin's mother's words disrupted everyone's appetite, and Chu Rong put down his chopsticks.

"Sister Mo Yi, what are your recent scenes? Can you tell me about them? Or are there any interesting things on the set?"

Chu Tianyi took the initiative to talk to Lin Moyi, and both of them looked very calm on the surface.

"There's actually nothing interesting happening on the set recently. Why don't you let Zhao Zhao tell you? I think she knows more than me." Lin Moyi smiled faintly.

Seeing that Lin Moyi had drawn the anger towards herself, everyone at the table turned their eyes to Chu Zhaozhao, and she could no longer sit still.

"What can happen to me? I don't have the authority to walk around anywhere on the set. Of course, Sister Mo Yi knows more, but Sister Mo Yi has been in the spotlight very often recently." Chu Zhaozhao said with a hint of meaning.

Lin Moyi bit her lower lip, fearing that Chu Zhaozhao would say something nonsense, because the truth of what she explained to Lin's father and mother was not like that.

Lin Moyi and Chu Zhaozhao looked at each other, their eyes locked, but they didn't say anything.

Chu Tianyi didn’t know who to help or what to say at this time, because she didn’t like Lin Moyi that much, but she hated Chu Zhaozhao even more.

"Sister, you and Sister Mo Yi should chat more often. You both work in the same job, and our two families have such a good relationship. If you chat more, we can visit our hometown more often when we have time." Chu Tianyi smiled foolishly.

Chu Zhaozhao secretly disliked Chu Tianyi's thoughtless words.

Fortunately, the meal was finally over, and Chu Zhaozhao was already planning to slip away.

Lin's mother asked Chu Zhaozhao and Chu Tianyi to learn embroidery together. Seeing Cheng Feifei's suggestive look, Chu Zhaozhao compromised.

"Tianyi, your hands are thinner. Let me teach you first. Zhaozhao's hands are not bad, but they are not as pretty as Tianyi's. I have watched Tianyi grow up since she was a child, and I know her best."

Lin's mother suddenly said something without any reason. After Chu Zhaozhao understood what was going on, he smiled and watched the interaction between Lin's mother and Chu Tianyi with his hands crossed.

Chu Tianyi's voice became coquettish at this time, and those who didn't know would think she was Lin's mother↑Cheng Feifei.

"Zhao Zhao, where did you live as a child?" Lin's mother asked deliberately.

"I can't remember clearly, but I didn't have a very good life, otherwise I wouldn't be an artist. After all, being an artist isn't that glamorous. If I had a choice, I really wouldn't be an artist."

Chu Zhaozhao emphasized what she was going to say. Lin's mother's pupils tightened, as if she realized that Chu Zhaozhao's words were mocking Lin Moyi.

"Tianyi, come and teach Zhaozhao. You are so smart. Auntie believes you can do it."

Lin's mother made way for her, and Chu Tianyi taught Chu Zhaozhao embroidery. Chu Zhaozhao looked at Chu Tianyi, who chattered a lot, and smiled to herself.

"What are you laughing at?" Lin's mother asked Chu Zhaozhao in a questioning tone.

Chu Zhaozhao was in no hurry to explain. Instead, she said, "Auntie, Sister Mo Yi hasn't learned this embroidery yet, right? Why don't you teach her first and then teach us?"

"What do you mean?" Lin's mother's eyes were full of confusion.

Chu Tianyi was also confused by Chu Zhaozhao. In fact, Chu Zhaozhao didn't mean anything else. She just didn't want to get along with Lin's mother anymore.

[I heard Mo Yi say before that Chu Zhaozhao was very difficult to deal with and had caused her a lot of trouble. Now it seems that she is indeed uneducated. I don't know how she was raised.]

Chu Zhaozhao found Lin's mother's inner narration very interesting, and she couldn't help but wonder what role she played in Lin Moyi's mouth.
