Chapter 99: Visit

Chu Huaian didn't mean to blame Chu Zhaozhao, it was just that they seemed to be talking on different channels, or they didn't seem like a family, even though they were siblings.

"He came to see me?" Chu Zhaozhao asked.

Chu Huaiyang nodded and explained: "Actually, Dad didn't want you to leave home at first. It was just because there would be trouble if you were with Chu Tianyi, or maybe Dad was in a bad mood during that time, so they might have had a bad impression of you, but..."

Chu Huaiyang wanted to explain, but he found that he could not find an excuse because Chu Huaiyang himself had broken up with Chu Rong and Cheng Feifei.

"No more, no more..."

Chu Huaiyang quickly waved his hand and gave up. He thought about it and felt that his words sounded unconvincing.

"If you're here, then you're here. Cheng Feifei isn't here, right?" Chu Zhaozhao asked calmly.

Chu Huaian replied: "Of course Mom didn't come. Only Dad came. He just glanced at you from a distance and left. You were still sleeping at that time."

"Really? Then I have to thank Dad for coming to see me."

Chu Zhaozhao said this deliberately. In fact, Chu Huaiyang and Chu Huaian both knew that Chu Zhaozhao would not really thank Chu Rong for coming to see her.

Chu Zhaozhao was not recognized into the Chu family until she was in her twenties, and was kicked out of the house in less than half a year. Chu Zhaozhao naturally had no feelings for the Chu family, and Chu Huaian and Chu Huaiyang would not morally blackmail Chu Zhaozhao.

If Chu Zhaozhao had any feelings for the Chu family, it was not because of Cheng Feifei and Chu Rong, but because the system once told her what the fate of the Chu family would be.

Once upon a time, in Chu Zhaozhao's opinion, no one in the Chu family should have such an ending.

Time passed quickly and it was time for Chu Zhaozhao to be discharged from the hospital. Chu Zhaozhao's mood had improved a lot. It was much better than staying in bed with an IV drip every day.

Only Chu Huaiyang and Chu Huaian knew that Chu Zhaozhao was in the hospital, so naturally only Chu Huaiyang and Chu Huaian came when she was discharged.

"Brother Eldest and Third Brother, you guys go back first. I have to go out for a while." Chu Zhaozhao said to the two men.

I have to attend the award ceremony tomorrow. This kind of event usually lasts a whole day, so Chu Zhaozhao naturally has no time to visit Xu Yu's father.

Chu Zhaozhao also has other activities the day after tomorrow. Although she doesn’t know how long it will take, she still hopes to have time today to go to Xu’s house and see Xu Shan.

Chu Huaiyang originally wanted to send Chu Zhaozhao away, but was rejected by Chu Zhaozhao. Chu Huaian saw it but didn't say anything.

Chu Zhaozhao took a taxi and left, leaving only Chu Huaiyang and Chu Huaian watching Chu Zhaozhao's car slowly leave.

"Brother, do you know that Xu Yu confessed to Zhao Zhao?" Chu Huaiyang said with his hands in his pockets.

Chu Huaian glanced sideways at Chu Huaiyang and asked, "Did Zhao Zhao agree?"

"No."

Chu Huaian nodded in approval and said with satisfaction, "Then I'm relieved."

"Brother, are you relieved now? Aren't you afraid that Zhao Zhao might like Xu Yu?"

Before Chu Zhaozhao was hospitalized, Chu Huaiyang's dissatisfaction with Xu Yu had almost disappeared.

However, because Chu Zhaozhao was in the hospital, Chu Huaiyang sent so many messages to Xu Yu but he did not reply, and he did not even come to see Chu Zhaozhao. This caused a new grudge between Chu Huaiyang and Xu Yu.

However, Xu Yu may not know when this grudge started, and I'm afraid only Chu Huaiyang knows it.

"It's okay even if Zhao Zhao likes him. Isn't messing things up what men are best at?"

Chu Huaian's tone was very relaxed, which made Chu Huaiyang think seriously, as if it was indeed the case.

"Brother, you drove over here. I'll put these things home first, and then I plan to go to the studio."

"I'm driving, you go ahead and be careful." Chu Huaiyang replied.

The two separated in the hospital and went in different directions.

Chu Zhaozhao arrived at Xu Shan's house and rang the doorbell politely. The person who opened the door was Xu's driver.

"Oh, it's Miss Chu. Come in quickly. Xiaoyu went to work in another place. Didn't he tell you?" the driver asked kindly.

Chu Zhaozhao shook his head and quickly explained: "Uncle, I came to see Uncle Xu. I know Xu Yu went to work in another place. He told me so."

"That's all I've said. Sir, you just took some medicine and you should be awake now. I'll go check on you to see if you're asleep."

The driver walked into Xu Shan's room happily, then came out to tell Chu Zhaozhao that she could go in.

Chu Zhaozhao adjusted her appearance before walking in and greeted Xu Shan politely.

"Uncle, you look much better now. You should feel less uncomfortable now, right?" Chu Zhaozhao asked softly.

When Xu Shan saw Chu Zhaozhao coming, a smile gradually appeared on his face.

"Zhao Zhao, it's you. I'm much better now. I don't feel any discomfort anymore. I just can't do one thing for a long time. But now it's nice to have some free time to read books and newspapers."

Chu Zhaozhao sat at the head of the bed. The driver brought a glass of water. Chu Zhaozhao held the glass and drank it slowly, sip by sip. Suddenly, she felt a little embarrassed.

"Xu Yu went to work in another place. He said he should be back in three days at the earliest." Chu Zhaozhao added.

Xu Shan nodded, as if he didn't care when Xu Yu would come back. He always had a smile on his face when facing Chu Zhaozhao.

"When Xu Yu was on a business trip before, he never told me when he would leave or come back. Sometimes I only found out he was on a business trip when he came back. I didn't expect him to tell you these things."

Xu Shan’s words made Chu Zhaozhao feel a little guilty. That kiss and Xu Yu’s confession kept popping up in Chu Zhaozhao’s mind.

"Uncle, Xu Yu and I are from the same company and have collaborated so many times. Maybe he felt it was necessary to tell me."

Chu Zhaozhao turned a blind eye, and Xu Shan had a feeling that he saw through it but didn't say anything.

"Come, I'll give you Xu Yu's childhood photo album."

Xu Shan sat up from the bed and took out a thick photo album from the bedside table.

Chu Zhaozhao felt that looking at the photo album was a bit private, but Xu Shan kept inviting Chu Zhaozhao to look at it.

"Xu Yu may not even know the existence of this photo album." Xu Shan said while looking at the album.

The cover of the album already shows some signs of aging. Xu Shan may have secretly looked at this album many times.

"Look, this is Xu Yu when he was one month old. The person holding him is his grandfather. People say Xu Yu looks like his grandfather..."

One-month-old Xu Yu was held in his grandfather's arms with his eyes closed. His face was chubby and it seemed that Xu Yu was a big fat boy when he was a child.

"Look at this picture. This is Xu Yu's mother. Xu Yu was two years old at the time, but he couldn't walk steadily yet. We often put gloves and knee pads on him and let him run around."

A happy smile unconsciously appeared on Xu Shan's face. He himself didn't realize it, but Chu Zhaozhao caught the change in Xu Shan's expression.

"What about this one? How old was Xu Yu at that time?"
