Even though Yan Bao had menstrual pain, he didn't take a single day off.
After dealing with the matter of the black shop, he immediately headed towards Yumen Pass.
Yan Bao saw Tao Yuanyuan's moving route and found that she was still quite some distance away.
When we arrived at Yumen Pass, we could smell the scent of yellow sand. The buildings here are different from those inside the pass. It is obviously much drier and more windy here.
Yan Bao prepared a silk scarf for Mrs. Shen to protect her from the wind and sand, as well as sunglasses to block out the sun. The desert sun is very dazzling and can easily make people dizzy, so sunglasses will make things much better.
Everyone in the group changed into their equipment.
When they arrived at Yumen Pass, they stayed at the post station.
The carriage was not convenient to use in the desert, so Yan Bao temporarily left the carriage at the post station and rented a camel. After leaving the customs, he would use the camel for transportation.
Mrs. Shen saw the camel with two humps and was surprised that it could walk in the desert.
If he hadn’t had to bring Madam Shen with him, Yan Bao really wanted to leave her at the Yumen Pass Post Station.
But the mission does not allow it.
Yan Bao had no choice but to leave the nanny behind.
The nanny was unwilling: "Even if I die, I will follow you, Madam and Miss. I will never be left alone. I am not afraid of hardship. I beg you to let me stay with you and take care of you."
Mrs. Shen looked at Yan Bao with pleading eyes, and Yan Bao had no choice but to agree.
Madam Shen secretly breathed a sigh of relief. She was used to being taken care of by Madam Shen. If she was not around, Madam Shen would not be used to it.
Yan Bao thought about it and it made sense. She wasn't as considerate as the nanny, and she didn't know how to take care of others. Having the nanny take care of her mother would make things a lot easier.
On the second day, she prepared some dry food and water, just for show. Yan Bao's space had everything to eat, drink and use. Others didn't know that she had supplies, so she still had to bring some with her.
Mrs. Shen knew that she was playing dumb.
So, when Yan Bao took out fruits such as peaches, watermelons, and grapes, Mrs. Shen just had to eat them and didn't ask any extra questions, so that Yan Bao wouldn't have to find excuses to be perfunctory.
The people at the post station knew that Yan Bao was going to leave the border, and they were extremely anxious, fearing that something might happen to Yan Bao. Persuasion was useless, so they recommended a guide who was familiar with this route to lead Yan Bao and his friends, and also said that there were many wolves in the desert.
There are also sandstorms, and it's easy to lose yourself.
Yan Bao knew it, but didn't take it to heart and insisted on taking the three people out.
He also left the coachman at the post station and asked him to watch over the carriage.
The driver knelt down and begged Yan Bao to take him away, but Yan Bao refused.
Too many people are a burden, and she believes she can return safely.
The people at the post station were so anxious that they stamped their feet when they saw Yan Bao and his friends seeking their own death.
The nanny was infected by this suffocating emotion and wanted to persuade her, but was stopped by Mrs. Shen: "Don't worry, Yan Bao knows what's going on. We have to believe her. If she says it's okay, then it's okay!"
The nanny looked at the lady with a determined face and stopped talking nonsense.
Yan Bao was indeed trustworthy. After they rode camels out of the customs, they kept walking according to the spatial map. This road was the Silk Road, and there were caravans traveling back and forth every year.
It happened that the season when they left the border was also the time for caravans to leave the border. Many caravans saw them and asked if they were going to Dayuezhi. It turned out to be on their way. They thought Yan Bao and the others would follow them.
Who knew that they were driving their camels faster and were ahead of them.
Some kind-hearted people advised: "You'd better follow behind. It's not safe in the front. If you encounter wolves or something, you won't be able to escape."
"Thank you for your kindness, but we are in a hurry!" Yan Bao didn't have much time left, she had to find Tao Yuanyuan as soon as possible.
Facing the kindness of others, Yan Bao was not the kind of person who would repay kindness with enmity. She said to the old businessman, "Let's light a bigger fire when we camp out tonight."
The old businessman raised his eyebrows, not quite understanding what Yan Bao meant.
When they were camping outdoors, they saw that the fire was not big, and they remembered what Yan Bao said, that is, to ask people to add more firewood and make the fire bigger so that they would not freeze to death when it was cold at night.
On Yan Bao's side, he and Mrs. Shen found a place sheltered from the wind, set up a tent, and wrapped themselves in thermal bags. Suddenly, a snowstorm came at night, the temperature dropped, the wind blew, and they shivered with cold.
Yan Bao prepared in advance, so they were all fine.
As for other caravans, many people froze to death.
They also didn't expect that the temperature would suddenly drop after they fell asleep at night, and many people died in their sleep.
The team whose fire was burning the brightest slept next to the fire, warmed by it. When they woke up and felt cold, they warmed themselves by the fire to ward off the cold and save their lives.
It was only when Mrs. Shen arrived in the desert that she realized how changeable the weather was. People could be frozen to death at night and burned to death during the day. She wished she could take off all her clothes and sit on a camel so hot that she couldn't even open her eyes.
Mrs. Shen almost had heatstroke during the day and almost got frostbite at night.
When Yan Bao was sleeping outdoors with Madam Shen in her arms, she asked Madam Shen, "Do you regret it, mother?"
Madam Shen shook her head: “If you don’t come out, you won’t be able to see such a beautiful night sky!”
Yan Bao followed Madam Shen’s gaze and saw the starry sky, which was indeed something that could not be seen in the capital.
"I'm glad Mom doesn't regret it. Just bear with it a little longer, we'll soon reach our destination!" Yan Bao was about to go to sleep when he suddenly sensed danger and immediately got up: "Ziyun, there's a wolf!"
The four camels also sensed the danger and cried out in anxiety.
Yan Bao asked the nanny to protect Madam Shen. She and Ziyun walked out of the tent and looked at the green eyes not far away. They smelled the scent of prey. The leader wolf led the pack and wanted to bite them to death one by one and empty their stomachs.
Yan Bao drew his bow and shot an arrow.
Ziyun flexed her fists and took out her meteor hammer.
Wolves: "Woo!"
Yan Bao knew that today either they would die or the wolves would die, so she attacked ruthlessly. Arrows flew out, and the wolves howled and pounced on them.
Ziyun’s meteor hammer is not vegetarian, one hammer can kill a wolf.
There was also a cunning wolf that came around from behind and wanted to attack from behind, but Yan Bao noticed it in advance and shot an arrow at the wolf that was rushing from behind.
