Chapter 74 Yan Bao is right

Concubine Shu soon learned that the third prince had been punished.

After asking the whole story, Concubine Shu was so angry that she threw the teacup, and a fierce look flashed in her beautiful eyes.

"A mute and a fool, they are so shameless that they caused the third prince to be confined to his house and made the emperor angry. Ever since Concubine Li became a concubine, she has taken herself more seriously." Concubine Shu hooked her finger.

The trusted maid came forward.

Concubine Shu whispered a few words into the maid's ear.

The maid nodded with a wicked smile on her face.

Concubine Li knew about the Taohuaxi incident. When she heard that it was because of the Thirteenth Prince and Yan Bao, Concubine Li frowned and complained to her maid in private: "It seems that a mute can also cause trouble."

"It's nothing that she provoked the Third Prince outside the palace. It's a pity that we, mother and son, are stuck in the palace. The Emperor doesn't care about us, and Concubine Shu is in charge of the six palaces. I'm afraid we, mother and son, won't have a good life."

Concubine Li's guess was correct. For the next period of time, Concubine Li's treatment in the palace was not very good.

When paying respects, she was also targeted by Concubine Shu.

Occasionally, when she appeared in the Imperial Garden, she would be caught by Concubine Shu and made some sarcastic remarks.

Concubine Li suffered a lot at the hands of Concubine Shu, being ridiculed and bullied. After she came back, she couldn't help but complain to the Thirteenth Prince, saying that if Yan Bao didn't restrain himself and remained so ignorant in the future, it would not be good for him.

The Thirteenth Prince couldn't help but say, "It's none of her business. It's the Third Prince who's bullying."

"Shut up, do you have the right to speak? If you keep protecting her like this, she will kill you sooner or later." Concubine Li glared.

The Thirteenth Prince was not convinced: "It was originally my Third Brother's fault."

"Thirteen, are you talking back to Mother?" Concubine Li looked hurt. "You don't listen to Mother either?"

The Thirteenth Prince frowned and looked at Concubine Li, who was about to cry. His stubborn eyes insisted, "It wasn't Yan Bao's fault in the first place."

This sentence completely angered Concubine Li. She picked up the feather duster and said, "Lift up your robe."

The Thirteenth Prince was not afraid at all. He lifted up his robe swiftly, revealing his thin calves. The feather duster fell on his calves again and again, leaving scars on his thin legs.

"How old are you to talk back?"

"You don't listen to your mother's teachings. You are unfilial."

"Do you know that because of Yan Bao, my mother was bullied by Concubine Shu?"

The Thirteenth Prince lowered his head and said, "I'm sorry, mother, for causing you trouble. This is my son's fault, and it has nothing to do with Yan Bao."

Seeing her son admit his mistake, Concubine Li felt a little better. But when she heard him say that it had nothing to do with Yan Bao, she immediately became furious.

"How can it have nothing to do with her? If she hadn't provoked the Third Prince, Concubine Shu would have implicated us. If that damned girl Yan Bao hadn't been your future prince consort, how could she have blamed us?"

The Thirteenth Prince frowned: "Yan Bao is very good. If it weren't for Yan Bao, my mother wouldn't be Concubine Li."

Concubine Li was stunned for a moment, then she understood what the Thirteenth Prince meant and became angry: "What do you mean? Do you think my mother doesn't know what's good for her?"

The Thirteenth Prince bit his lip and endured Concubine Li's increasingly severe punishment.

Seeing his young master's legs swollen, Xiao Anzi felt extremely distressed, but he dared not say anything. He could only rush over to protect the Thirteenth Prince: "Your Majesty, please spare the Thirteenth Prince. The young master is still young and ignorant. Your Majesty, teach him well and don't hurt him."

When Concubine Li saw the Thirteenth Prince's injuries, she realized how badly she had hit him. She cried and hugged the Thirteenth Prince to apologize, saying that she was so angry that she lost her mind. It was all Yan Bao's fault for being ignorant and causing trouble for them and their son.

The Thirteenth Prince said stubbornly, "Yan Bao is right."

Concubine Li stopped crying and couldn't help but slap the Thirteenth Prince in the face: "Get out."

The Thirteenth Prince limped out of Concubine Li's sight, and behind him was Concubine Li's broken and hypocritical crying: "I have such a miserable life. I gave birth to a son with a crooked elbow. What should I do in the future?"

"I carried him for ten months, endured countless plots, endured ten months of fear and terror, and finally gave birth to him after ten hours of pain. And yet he says this to a mother like me. What's the point of living?"

The Thirteenth Prince paused, took a deep breath, and stood at the door for a while with an expressionless face before leaving.

He knew that these words were spoken to him by his mother.

Ever since he was very young, his mother had always been like this, telling him how hard she worked, how much she tried for him, and how much she suffered.

The Thirteenth Prince sometimes wondered, if it was so hard, why did he give birth to himself?

Since you feel so wronged, why don't you send yourself away to be raised by another queen?

Since you have worked so hard to get what you want, why not be nicer to yourself?

Thinking of how Chief Minister Shen and Madam Shen doted on Yan Bao, even if Yan Bao was bullied by the Third Prince, the couple was not afraid. They would support Yan Bao in front of their father and risk being punished by his father.

Then look at your own mother.

The Thirteenth Prince took a pine nut candy and put it in his mouth.

He sometimes wondered if he would feel better if he were really a fool.

Then he changed his mind and shook his head.

If he was really a fool, he wouldn't know how good Yan Bao was. He couldn't do anything when Yan Bao was bullied.

For example, it is right to insist on Yan Bao in front of the mother.

She was right.

The Thirteenth Prince also had a hard time in the palace.

The third prince was under house arrest. He had a younger brother in the palace. The eighth prince was ten years old, a head taller than the thirteenth prince and four or five years older. He knew that his third brother was punished because of the thirteenth prince.

The eighth prince deliberately picked a fight and bullied the thirteenth prince.

The Thirteenth Prince is stupid and small.

Concubine Li was out of favor and had no one to support her in the palace. Her body was either covered with bruises or bleeding from her head.
