Lin Qingwan was even more frightened than she had expected. Zhao Yan's fingers were more terrifying than the dagger from that day. She bit her lip hard to keep from screaming.
The next second, Zhao Yan hugged her from behind. "I'm sorry, don't be afraid of me."
"I will never hurt you again."
As if he had finally found hope to keep living, he buried his face in the back of Lin Qingwan's neck and pleaded tremblingly.
But Lin Qingwan only wanted to escape.
"I will marry you, and I will treat you well."
Zhao Yan was completely broken, saying things that Lin Qingwan couldn't understand but was terrified of.
She swallowed hard. "Let go."
Zhao Yan, her eyes red, said, "Don't leave me again."
"I don't know what Your Highness is talking about." Lin Qingwan took a deep breath of fresh air, her heart pounding. "This is the palace, Your Highness, please show some respect."
Zhao Yan couldn't accept her rejection and had a terrible headache. "Don't talk to me like that."
At the same time, he hugged her even tighter, making it hard for Lin Qingwan to breathe.
"Jianqing, I miss you so much," Zhao Yan said, his voice trembling with tears.
Lin Qingwan was terrified. Her nails dug tightly into Zhao Yan's hand as she desperately tried to escape.
But the more she did this, the more she provoked Zhao Yan.
"Jianqing, no one can hurt you. I will take you back to the palace."
Lin Qingwan was so shocked that she could not speak. He grabbed her hands and dragged her in another direction.
"Let go, I... I won't go."
"Let me go!"
The palace maids and eunuchs who passed by would hide as soon as they saw Zhao Yan from afar, let alone save Lin Qingwan.
Lin Qingwan didn't want to experience the pain of bloodletting again, so she subconsciously pulled out her hairpin and was about to stab Zhao Yan's arm, but the Crown Prince's voice brought her back to her senses.
"Seventh Brother." Zhao Cong sneered, his voice carrying the imposing aura of a thousand troops on the narrow palace corridor.
Zhao Yan was in excruciating pain and was startled by what he heard. Lin Qingwan seized the opportunity to escape and ran to the Crown Prince's side without hesitation.
Zhao Cong was about to say something, but when he saw her running over with all her might, her eyes filled with fear turned into hope, and she grabbed his forearm which was in front of her, her knuckles turning white from the force.
Lin Qingwan's breathing was disordered, her lips were pale, and her eyes reflected Zhao Cong's calm and refined face.
"Your Highness, save me!"
She was trembling violently, and her hands felt icy cold even through her sleeves.
For a moment, Zhao Cong's mind went blank. He instinctively shielded the person behind him and ordered the guards, "Stop Prince Jing!"
