Lin Qingwan doesn't need to commit suicide for now.
The four guards skillfully controlled Zhao Yan's hands and feet, and one of them even put his forearm in his mouth, the muffled groans making Lin Qingwan's throat tighten.
Zhao Yan's bloodshot eyes were fixed on her, like a mad beast about to devour her.
"Take the prince out first!" the guard shouted.
Zhao Yan roared, "I will never abandon her again!"
"No one can make me leave her!"
The guards dared not hurt him, and were dragged a few steps by him. Lin Qingwan shrank back and hid in the corner, wishing she could dig a hole and escape.
"Has the Taoist priest arrived yet?"
Someone shouted again, and a young Taoist priest in a dark blue robe rushed in.
Upon seeing Zhao Yan's bloodshot eyes, he shuddered and shakily pulled out several silver needles. "Hold the prince down!"
Lin Qingwan frowned as she watched his stiff movements as he inserted the needles.
One, two... As expected, by the third time, Zhao Yan broke free from the guards' restraints and slapped away the Taoist's outstretched hand.
"Your Highness!"
The Taoist priest was terrified. "First, give me the medicine."
As he backed away, he pulled a medicine bottle from his pocket, but his hands were shaking so badly he couldn't open the stopper.
Zhao Yan glared at him coldly, "Didn't you say that Jian Qing forgave me?"
"It's not that she'll forgive me just because I've taken good care of those hibiscus flowers!"
"Why won't she let me near her? Why would she rather kill herself than let me touch her!"
"Why!"
Zhao Yan had a splitting headache, and his chest was filled with a huge surge of anger that made him feel extremely uncomfortable. He roared until his voice became hoarse.
The Taoist priest's eardrums were about to burst. Forcing himself to calm down, he glanced at Lin Qingwan from afar, "Um..."
"Why don't you let the prince touch it?"
"It's not too much to ask, even just holding hands is fine."
"The prince's relapse is terrifying, but the key issue is that the Imperial Concubine and His Majesty will not let us off the hook."
The Taoist priest noticed Lin Qingwan as soon as he entered. The girl's eyes were too cold, and her emotions were suppressed very tightly. She was almost the opposite of Prince Jing.
Even if King Jing went mad, he would first burn down half the sky before perishing with everyone else.
But she's different. She looks calm, but if you say even half a word more, she'll strike you down.
The Taoist priest was at his wit's end. "You don't want to be locked up here forever, you don't want to die, do you?"
Lin Qingwan slightly raised her eyelids and asked a question that made the Taoist priest want to vomit blood, "He trusts you so much, yet you don't even have the ability to cure his illness?"
The Taoist priest choked for a moment, "Young lady, this is not the time to talk about this, you..."
Lin Qingwan looked at him with suspicion, "Are you a charlatan?"
The Taoist priest closed his eyes briefly. "This humble Taoist priest can only read fortunes, not treat illnesses."
"Just tell me, can you let the prince touch your hand?"
Lin Qingwan remained silent.
Half an hour later, Zhao Yan finally lay down on the soft couch where Lin Qingwan had been lying, holding her left hand tightly with one hand, her little finger tucked into her ring finger, and the back of her hand was red.
She wrote down a list of medicinal ingredients and tossed it to the Taoist priest, saying, "Prepare the medicine according to the dosage listed."
The Taoist priest glanced at her sideways and coughed lightly, "That...it won't kill anyone, will it?"
Lin Qingwan remained calm. "A calming prescription. Right now, just using silver needles to stimulate the sleep acupoint won't last long; he'll go crazy again when he wakes up."
The Taoist priest felt helpless at the thought of that situation. "Then I'll go and prepare."
He took two steps and then turned back. "He treated you like that, and you still gave him medicine? I'll ask you one more time, it really isn't poison, is it?"
"If I really wanted to kill him, I would have only punctured his sleep acupoint just now."
"Besides, even if I could lie to you, I couldn't lie to the clerk at the herbal medicine shop."
The Taoist priest suddenly realized his foolishness and quickly walked out.
Lin Qingwan's voice rang out from behind, "Some of these herbs are only available at Anning Medical Clinic."
The Taoist priest understood and smiled slightly, "I know."
Zhao Yan slept restlessly, muttering, "Jianqing, don't leave me."
If he hadn't nearly killed Lin Qingwan in the flowerbed, she might have been willing to sympathize with him. But now, it's good that she didn't take the opportunity to poison him.
The main problem is that he is Prince Jing; if he is poisoned, Lin Qingwan won't escape either.
There were only her and Zhao Yan in the room at the moment; the Taoist priest had just forgotten to take away the paper and pen.
Lin Qingwan's heart raced, and a thought quickly surfaced in her mind.
She wrote a note, then grabbed Zhao Yan's thumb and pressed it to make a fingerprint.
"Consider it your way of thanking me for saving your life despite past grievances."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhao Yan's eyelids twitched twice, scaring Lin Qingwan half to death.
Soon, the Taoist priest returned with the medicine, and the guards brewed it and brought it in. Several people tried to get Zhao Yan to open his mouth, but they couldn't.
Finally, everyone looked at the Taoist priest, and the Taoist priest looked at Lin Qingwan.
"Please, be a good Samaritan to the end."
"The medicine is getting cold."
Lin Qingwan glanced helplessly at her left hand, which was almost turning purple from being gripped so tightly. "Can you make him let go?"
Without the slightest hesitation, the Taoist priest exclaimed, "Deal!"
Zhao Yan held on tightly, and the more external forces pulled, the less she let go.
Helpless, the Taoist priest made a hand seal towards Zhao Yan, chanted for a while, and said "break," and Zhao Yan really let go.
Lin Qingwan was dumbfounded.
The Taoist priest was pleased with the surprise in her eyes and proudly raised an eyebrow. "I'm not a charlatan."
"Hey."
Unfortunately, before Lin Qingwan could pick up the medicine bowl, the sound of fighting broke out outside.
"Lin Qingwan, are you inside?"
It's Jiang Zhenlin!
She jumped up abruptly, "Yes!"
"Tong Di, you go in and save them, I'll hold them off!"
And there's also Child Guard!
Lin Qingwan's eyes lit up, but the Taoist priest blocked her way, saying, "Save the prince first."
