Su Yun wore a kingfisher feather headdress paired with a royal blue dress embroidered with yellow flowers, her slender figure exuding elegance and nobility. Although it was somewhat inappropriate for her age, she had been the only mistress of the Eastern Palace for many years, and her refined demeanor made her a suitable match.
She knelt down, her figure delicate and graceful, and said, "This concubine greets the Crown Princess."
Tang Yun's hair and makeup were unkempt, and she hadn't even changed out of her bright red inner garment. The hem of her skirt was a little wrinkled. Compared to Su Yun... no, she didn't even have the right to be compared.
Lin Qingwan was at least dressed simply, but her exquisite face still made Tang Yun look somewhat inferior. Now, even a concubine was coming to see her in such a grand manner…
Tang Yun's eyes blazed with anger. He said he didn't like Lin Qingwan, but he liked Su Yun even more.
Tang Yun gestured to the nanny to pour tea for Su Yun in a jade cup as a test, "Get up. Dressed so elegantly and solemnly, didn't you even ask if I was in a good mood today?"
Su Yun lowered her head, "A formal audience with the Crown Princess is appropriate to avoid appearing impolite."
If it weren't for what happened last night, her words would have suited Tang Yun's taste. Unfortunately, Tang Yun now finds her exceptionally hypocritical and annoying.
"Knowing that I had a falling out with the Crown Prince and was not only placed in a side hall, but I was also denied a wedding night, you still dressed up so ostentatiously. Did you come to see me make a fool of myself?"
Su Yun feigned unease, "This concubine dares not."
"You are the Crown Princess, it is only right that I respect you, it has nothing to do with anything else."
Tang Yun, holding the cat, sneered, "You certainly know how to talk."
Su Yun breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that the woman was no longer pursuing her. This Miss Tang really had a very strange temper.
The nanny served tea, saying, "Please have some tea, Consort."
The celadon jade cup is translucent, reflecting the slightly yellow tea water, which is very clear and beautiful.
"Thank you, Crown Princess." Su Yun covered her face and took a sip, then suddenly noticed another pair of celadon jade cups on the table.
The fingers holding the teacup tightened instantly, and her eyes began to tremble involuntarily.
Why does the Crown Princess have two rooms? Wasn't that the case yesterday...?
She hid her emotions very well, but the old woman still noticed that her expression was off.
The old woman nodded to Tang Yun, whose face darkened considerably. "The celadon jade cup you had sent over is quite beautiful."
Su Yun forced a smile, "This is for the nuptial wine, Your Highness is too kind to me."
A flicker of panic crossed Su Yun's eyes; she couldn't tell which set was for Lin Qingwan. What if...?
She forced herself to remain calm and not give herself away!
Tang Yun said, "Aren't you going to ask me why I didn't send another set to the main house?"
Su Yun's heart skipped a beat. "Although the madam is the crown prince's beloved, there can only be one crown princess. As for matters within the Eastern Palace, whatever you say goes."
"Whether to send a gift or not is entirely up to the Crown Princess."
Tang Yun snorted coldly, "Your people didn't say that yesterday."
Su Yun: "Yesterday, Minister Tang knelt outside for a long time. After all, it was the Crown Prince's big day. I didn't want you and the Crown Prince to have any misunderstandings, so I took it upon myself to do so. Please forgive me, Your Highness."
She kowtowed again respectfully, and there was truly not a single fault to be found in her.
The old woman sighed inwardly; this Consort Su was far more troublesome than Madam Wan. How could her young mistress possibly be a match for either of them!
Tang Yun has the least patience. If it were up to her, Su Yun would be slapped as soon as she walked in. She wouldn't be afraid that Su Yun would deny it; she would just slap her until Su Yun admitted it.
But Lin Qingwan's words reminded her that Consort Su's move was dangerous; if it succeeded, neither she nor Lin Qingwan would survive!
She wasn't afraid, but she knew she had no evidence. If she lost her temper, no one in the Eastern Palace would be there to protect her.
Tang Yun was naturally in a bad mood after suffering a loss in silence, and said coldly, "Since you are so sensible, it's not for nothing that I let you use her tea set."
Su Yun's hands trembled, and the teacup fell, spilling tea all over the floor.
"I have acted improperly; I deserve to die."
Tang Yun stared at her. "What are you afraid of? Is there poison in this celadon jade cup?"
Su Yun stiffened. "Please don't frighten me."
Tang Yun narrowed his eyes slightly. Although he had heavy dark circles under his eyes, he still exuded a sense of pressure. "It's good that you know how to be afraid."
"To be honest, I don't have any deep-seated hatred for Lady Wan. In the future, I will inevitably have to confront her in the Eastern Palace. But if anyone tries to use me to satisfy their own insidious desires and treats me like a fool, don't blame me for slitting her throat with one knife."
"You say that I have the final say in everything in the Eastern Palace, so let me remind you again that I also have the final say in your lives."
Su Yun came out of the side hall, her pale face taking a long time to recover.
Cui'er helped her back. The imperial physician was already waiting inside. After taking her pulse, he said, "There is nothing wrong with you. Consort, you can rest assured."
Su Yun couldn't help but feel nauseous. "Are you sure?"
The imperial physician replied firmly, "Absolutely true."
Cui'er breathed a sigh of relief, "That's great."
Su Yun couldn't laugh; instead, she felt a chill run down her spine.
"I used to think Tang Yun was a brainless idiot, but I underestimated her."
Cui'er said, "I've inquired. Before you arrived at the side hall, Madam Wan went to pay her respects. I heard that they even had a big argument."
"Unfortunately, there were only Granny Tang and Madam Wan's maids inside at the time, so we couldn't find out what they were saying."
Su Yun closed her eyes, remembering Tang Yun's warning, and slammed her fist on the bed. "There's plenty of time."
"Go and tell Madam Wan that I am not feeling well and cannot pay my respects to her today."
"good."
In the following days, the Eastern Palace was unexpectedly quiet.
Everyone was waiting for Tang Yun and Lin Qingwan to make a scene, but unexpectedly, the two sides really didn't bother each other.
With Feng'er by her side, Lin Qingwan didn't feel bored at all. She even made new shoes and clothes for him, which made Feng'er very happy.
"Now let's see who dares to say I don't have a mother to take care of me!"
