Chapter 29 Jiang Yanwan Falls into the Trap

Jiang Zhenlin made a startling statement.

The most surprised person was not Lin Qingwan, but Jiang Yanwan.

She wanted to stop her but it was too late. Xia Yan was also focused on helping her follow the plan. She angrily pointed at Granny Lai, "You, you even took the fox fur coat!"

Granny Lai was in pain and scared, and she couldn't cry out. When she met Xia Yan's gaze, she immediately understood what was going on.

No wonder Miss Yanwan didn't want that fox fur coat that day, and no wonder Xia Yan didn't stop him from taking it!

turn out to be···

Granny Lai thought there was room for maneuver, but she still felt that something was not quite right. However, the current situation did not allow her to think too much about it.

She gritted her teeth and got up, half of her body prostrate on the ground, wriggling towards Lin Qingwan like a worm, "Miss Qingwan, save me!"

"I did everything according to your instructions."

"You said that Madam is biased towards Miss Qingwan. Not only does she always blame you, but she also gave your marriage to Miss Yanwan and found a cripple to send you away."

"You said you went through so much trouble to come back and reunite with your family, but the entire Prime Minister's mansion treated you so cruelly."

"Miss Yan Wan has usurped the position of Miss Jiang and wants to make you suffer for the rest of your life."

"You say it's unfair."

“Miss Qingwan, you forced me to do this. You even said that if anything happened, I should shift the blame onto you, and that you would never let anything happen to me.”

Granny Lai's words were heart-wrenching and devastating; her tears nearly soaked the floor in front of her.

Jiang Zhenlin's fists clenched so tightly they cracked. "Lin Qingwan, you're crying wolf! I knew you had ulterior motives! You actually dared to poison Mother!"

Lai Pozi stood between him and Lin Qingwan. Jiang Zhenlin, enraged, kicked Lai Pozi again. "You wretched thing! You're a servant of the Prime Minister's mansion. Why are you listening to her? You dared to poison my mother! I'll skin you alive!"

Granny Lai was terrified and begged tremblingly, "Young master, spare my life! It was all Miss Qingwan who told me to do it."

“She said you would definitely suspect her, and then everyone in the Prime Minister’s mansion would bully her. She would then try to clear her name and let everyone know how you treated her.”

Granny Lai was also amazed at her own eloquence, clearly her words had truly struck a chord with Jiang Zhenlin.

Jiang Zhenlin stepped on Granny Lai's back and pressed himself against Lin Qingwan. She hurriedly dodged, but the punch landed squarely on her chest, as if her bones had been shattered.

Lin Qingwan's already spasmodic breath suddenly escaped from here, rushing into her trachea, and she almost coughed her lungs out.

"Stop!" Jiang Su rushed over and pulled Jiang Zhenlin away.

Lin Qingwan's pale face was flushed red from bloodshot veins, and a trace of scarlet tinge appeared on her dry lips. More importantly, she was slumped in the chair, her upper body aching so much that she couldn't move. Her forehead was covered in beads of sweat, and her stubborn gaze was infuriating.

Jiang Zhenlin was still not satisfied. "Father, let me go! I'll beat this heartless woman to death. She poisoned Mother."

"She's trying to kill my mother!"

Jiang Zhenlin's roar made people's eardrums hurt. Jiang Su's hand pressing on his shoulder bulged with veins. He frowned and said, "This damned old woman's words are contradictory. You actually believe her!"

"Have you forgotten how she instigated you to curse Qingwan at the gate last time?"

Jiang Su's calmness was reassuring in the face of his son's outburst. Lin Qingwan breathed heavily, her gaze towards her father as bright as frozen snowflakes.

Jiang Zhenlin never learns from mistakes, and he saw and heard what Granny Lai and her nephew said with his own eyes and ears, so what could be false!

"Father, she has upset Mother and bullied Sister more than once!"

Lin Qingwan swallowed the blood that welled up in her throat and said hoarsely, "I didn't reward her with the fox fur coat."

"The fox fur coats given by Prince Jing are all in Ningsi Garden. The key is with Muxue. You can go and see them."

Qiu Hong's heart skipped a beat. Her mistress had clearly...

She looked over and met Lin Qingwan's trembling eyes, which were filled with pain. Qiu Hong bit her lip and said nothing.

Jiang Su's expression changed slightly, and he gestured for the steward to go and check Ningsi Garden.

Jiang Yanwan never expected that Jiang Zhenlin would witness Granny Lai giving the fox fur coat to her nephew. This was originally a blessing in disguise, but why did her unease grow stronger and stronger?

How dare Lin Qingwan let someone investigate?

No, this was a trap she had carefully laid out. No matter how clever Lin Qingwan was, she couldn't possibly have been prepared in advance.

Yes! She must be trying to stall for time.

Jiang Yanwan doesn't like gambling; she wants to be certain of victory!

Lin Qingwan was still coughing, and no one suggested that the royal physician examine her first. Jiang Yanwan gritted her teeth. If Ah Lin were to punch her again at this moment... only a dead man could prevent the situation from changing.

But with Jiang Su right under her nose, she couldn't be too obvious, so she quickly gave Xia Yan a wink.

Xia Yan planned to go around to the back to get more tea. With the Prime Minister and the young master locked in a standoff, no one would notice her. But just as she stepped over the threshold, Qiu Hong chased after her.

"Miss Xia Yan, thank you for helping Miss Qing Wan get a cup of hot tea as well."

Xia Yan hesitated for a moment before reaching out to take the teacup, but Qiu Hong withdrew her hand instead. "I'll go with you and bring in a hot water bottle too."

Xia Yan didn't even have a chance to speak before Qiu Hong grabbed her wrist and dragged her out.

Jiang Yanwan gritted her teeth, turned her head to meet Lin Qingwan's cold gaze, and felt helpless.

Jiang Su pushed Jiang Zhenlin away, "If she really wanted to harm your mother, the authorities would have taken care of it. There's no need for you to beat her to death in front of me."

Jiang Zhenlin frowned. "Father, you're still siding with her even now! What kind of spell did she cast on you? My sister and I are the ones you watched grow up!"

"Insolence!" Jiang Su's narrowed eyes revealed a dangerous aura, and even Jiang Zhenlin, who was crazy, instantly restrained himself.

Jiang Su paused for a moment, refraining from uttering any harsh words, and simply said, "I only look at the evidence."
