Chapter 46 The Crown Prince Delivers Medicine

If Lin Qingwan really helped Prince Jing change his clothes, Jiang Yanwan would definitely be so angry she'd vomit blood.

Just thinking about it makes me feel good.

However, what made her hesitate was not Lin's dissatisfaction, but Zhao Yan's purpose in asking her to do this. Every time he got close, it was hard for her not to overthink it.

Even though she felt that Zhao Yan was indifferent to Jiang Yanwan, Zhao Yan could not be innocent if he could make everyone believe that Jiang Yanwan would definitely become the Princess Consort of Jing.

Then why does he care about her and protect her in public? It can't be so despicable as to use her to make Jiang Yanwan jealous. There's no need for that.

Furthermore, the previous two rewards gave Jiang Yanwan the opportunity to cause trouble, which ultimately led to the continuous deterioration of her relationship with her mother.

She spent five days and four nights with Lin when she had a rash, which earned her a few days of peace. But today's outburst has made all her efforts futile.

She knew in her heart that although her father protected her, he would not hold a grudge against her mother for her sake.

Lin Qingwan slowly unfurled her outer garment from Qin Ma's hands; this action nearly cost her her life.

Unexpectedly, Zhao Yan turned around upon hearing the noise, her smile vanishing completely. "You said it was alright? You can't even lift a piece of clothing."

He took the outer garment from Lin Qingwan's hand and consciously bent down to accommodate her.

Seeing this, Jiang Yanwan was convinced that Lin Qingwan was deliberately trying to embarrass her. She dared to use tricks to seduce the prince in front of her parents, which was a disgrace to the Jiang family.

Zhao Yan roared at the guards outside, "Tell the military doctor to hurry up, or I'll break his legs."

Jiang Yanwan could no longer bear it. "Qingwan is in a lot of pain. Let her rest. I will help the prince change his clothes."

Her brow bone was covered with bandages, her eyes looked pitiful, and she wanted to reach out her hands but dared not.

Following Jiang Yanwan's suggestion, Madam Lin said, "Qingwan isn't feeling well, so why don't we let her go to the inner room to lie down first?"

"Have Yanwan help the prince put on his outer robe so he doesn't catch a cold."

After Lin finished speaking, she glanced at Jiang Su, who immediately said, "Yes. Qingwan is frail and stoic. If Your Highness doesn't speak up, she probably won't rest."

Jiang Su's words were subtle. Lin frowned. It sounded like he was helping her, but upon closer inspection, something felt off.

Zhao Yan said to Lin Qingwan, "Go inside and wait for the army doctor to come."

Lin Qingwan was about to bow in thanks when Zhao Yan's dry, warm palm took her wrist. "Didn't I reward you with a dragon-scale cloak? Wear it when you go out from now on."

"No one dares to bully you."

Lin Qingwan's pupils trembled, a glint of light flashing in her eyes as she stared blankly at Zhao Yan.

Jiang Yanwan couldn't bear to watch any longer. "Your Highness, let me help you change your clothes."

However, the moment her hand touched his clothes, Zhao Yan coldly refused, "No need."

"It's not like I don't have hands; I don't need someone to serve me to change my clothes."

Jiang Yanwan's heart, which had not yet been mended, shattered again upon hearing this. She blinked in disbelief. Why did the prince treat her like an enemy?

What's so good about Lin Qingwan? She's thin and pale, stubborn and unruly, though she's pretty. She can't compare to me at all.

Why won't the prince look at her more?

"Your Highness, the military doctor has arrived."

A guard outside the door reported, "When the Crown Prince learned that the Prime Minister's estate was on fire, he specially sent Deputy General Tan to check on it and asked if the Prince was injured."

"If not, please return to the palace as soon as possible, so as not to worry His Majesty and the Imperial Concubine."

Zhao Yan's lips twitched. The Crown Prince wasn't inquiring; he was clearly sending him back to the capital.

The inner room.

Lin Qingwan took off her clothes, revealing large bruises on her back, with several areas swollen so badly that they would bleed if touched even slightly.

Qin Ma was shocked. It turned out that she wasn't faking it; anyone else would have fainted from the pain.

Lin Qingwan was forced onto a stool, and her cane was taken away and the servants were kicked away... Was she made of iron? She didn't utter a sound.

The military doctor left behind a prescription for dispersing blood stasis and relieving pain, as well as two bottles of swelling-reducing ointment, instructing Qin's mother to take them on time every day to prevent her heart qi from becoming stagnant, as it would cause trouble if the internal blood stasis did not dissipate.

Aunt Qin's face turned grave again. "Is it that serious?"

The military doctor nodded, "The main problem is that the young lady is unwilling to have her pulse taken."

Aunt Qin didn't understand why Lin Qingwan was resistant to having her pulse taken. After a moment's thought, she said, "Miss Qingwan, it's fine for you to let the military doctor check your pulse. Only by understanding the situation can we prescribe the right medicine. Otherwise, you will be the one who suffers."

Lin Qingwan's tone was firm: "I know what I'm doing."

Qin's mother knew that she knew a little about pharmacology, but her adoptive father was just a pharmaceutical merchant and not a proper doctor at all. He refused to be diagnosed by a doctor because he only knew a little bit about it, which was really arrogant and conceited.

"Miss, this is no joke."

"With your stubbornness, the military doctor will have a hard time explaining it to the prince."

Lin Qingwan sneered, not concerned about her life or death, but about how to explain things to the prince.

"I will explain to the Prince myself, and it will not implicate you."

Hearing her so direct, Qin's mother felt embarrassed and hesitated to speak.

At this moment, the servant who had come with the army doctor said in a muffled voice, "Granny Qin, Master is outside pounding medicine. Please go and check on him so you can help Miss settle in when you get back."

Then Qin Ma went out.

The servant didn't make a sound, but Lin Qingwan was alert. As soon as he entered the tent, he was locked in by her wary and cold gaze.

But it was only for a moment.

"Grandpa Cang?"

This person was none other than Cang Ying, a eunuch serving the Crown Prince.

Cang Ying had a kind face and dimples when he smiled. He took out two packets of medicine from his pocket and said, "The Crown Prince asked me to bring them to you."

When Lin Qingwan received it, a strong medicinal fragrance wafted out, just like the smell of the medicinal bath she had taken that day!

This medicine can alleviate the chronic toxins in her body without harming her health.

She couldn't have asked for it!

"Thank you, Your Highness." She was very excited and couldn't help but think of Zhao Cong's deep eyes under his long eyelashes, which exuded an inviolable noble and cold aura.
