Restaurant.
The person who returned to report was not Tong Di.
"Your Highness, Jiang Mingting and the other two accomplices have all been captured. The farmer was not seriously injured and can file a lawsuit against the Gao family once he regains consciousness."
Zhao Cong nodded, "Tell Physician Zhu to put in extra effort. Time waits for no one. The sooner the farmers wake up, the better their chances of winning."
"yes."
"Where's Tong Di?" Zhao Cong asked.
The guard said, "When we were arresting Jiang Mingting, a man ran out of the flower garden. He said that His Highness killed someone in the flower garden and begged Guard Tong to save Miss Qingwan."
Zhao Cong clenched his fist. "Make sure he's settled in properly; he's the only eyewitness."
The guard accepted the order.
Cang Ying noticed that Zhao Cong kept stroking the edge of the teacup without making a move to drink the tea, and knew that he was in a bad mood.
“Your Highness, it would be difficult for Guard Tong to save Miss Qingwan by himself. There are many guards in the flower garden, and besides, Guard Tong would not dare to actually lay a hand on Your Highness.”
Zhao Cong raised an eyebrow. "Without my orders, who allowed him to go there on his own?"
That being said, the tone wasn't cold.
Cang Ying smiled and said, "You have been very concerned about Miss Qingwan's injury during this time. Guard Tong is unaware of the deeper meaning behind it, so his actions are understandable."
As soon as he finished speaking, Feng'er ran in, "Father, has Seventh Uncle brought the beauty back?"
"There are so many flowers, we can't possibly admire them all."
"Feng'er is so hungry."
Seeing him repeatedly mention Lin Qingwan, Cang Ying silently glanced at the Crown Prince's expression and stepped forward, saying, "Your Highness, this servant will play with you."
"don't want!"
"Feng'er wants a beauty." He looked up at Zhao Cong pitifully, and when his father did not respond, his eyes immediately reddened. "I don't care, Father promised to let her have dinner with me today."
Seeing Zhao Cong's face grow increasingly cold, Cang Ying felt a chill run down her spine. "My little prince, be good, this servant will be your horse..."
Feng'er truly cried sadly, "I want Lin Qingwan."
"Father, I want to see Lin Qingwan."
Zhao Cong's taut facial features were broken by his glistening tears. "Let's go."
Feng'er hiccuped, thinking they were going back to the palace, and shook his head repeatedly, pretending to burst into tears. Unexpectedly, Zhao Cong bent down and hugged him, wiping away his tears and snot with his sleeve with disgust, "She hasn't come back, I'll take you to find her."
Feng'er paused for a moment, then burst into laughter through her tears and gave Zhao Cong a quick kiss.
Zhao Cong's icy expression softened slightly. "Stop drooling."
Cang Ying followed behind, ordering people to accompany her, and even after leaving the restaurant, she still found it unbelievable.
Flower bed.
When Jiang Zhenlin arrived, he immediately noticed a trail of blood spreading from the flowerbed. It was actually the blood from Ruan Tinghuai's ankle, which had been scraped after he ran out in handcuffs and shackles.
But this made Jiang Zhenlin's heart tighten.
Gao Peng caught up, panting, "Ah Lin, let's think of a way to get the prince back to the palace, don't be impulsive."
Jiang Zhenlin brushed him aside. "In the past, when the prince brought people back to the flower garden, they would disappear without a trace for two or three days. Do you have any way to get him to come out?"
"If what you say is true, by the time he comes out, Lin Qingwan will be buried in the yellow earth."
Gao Peng was speechless. "Then... what should we do?"
Jiang Zhenlin's face turned cold. "Force your way in."
"What?" Gao Peng didn't have his guts. To be precise, none of the scions of aristocratic families were as daring as Jiang Zhenlin.
"But···"
Before he could finish speaking, Jiang Zhenlin had already stepped forward and said, "Let Lin Qingwan come out!"
When the guard Changfeng came out, he saw that Jiang Shao looked menacing. "Young Master Jiang, the Prince sent a letter to the Prime Minister's residence, and the Prime Minister himself escorted Miss Qingwan out of the city. What do you want to do by coming to the flower garden with your sword?"
Jiang Zhenlin faintly smelled blood, his heart tightened, and his brows furrowed deeply. "She is not worthy to serve the Prince. I will take her back."
Changfeng frowned. "If Young Master Jiang takes another step forward, I won't stand on ceremony."
Jiang Zhenlin didn't want to stand on ceremony and shouted into the room, "Lin Qingwan, come out!"
Chang Feng coldly sneered, "Guards, stop Young Master Jiang!"
Seven or eight guards appeared in a flash. Jiang Zhenlin hadn't expected them to release her. He immediately drew his sword and attacked, saying, "What kind of clean woman doesn't Your Highness want? Let me take Lin Qingwan back. I can find someone better!"
"What are you saying, Young Master Jiang? What kind of person do you think the Prince is?" Changfeng said, dissatisfied.
Jiang Zhenlin was from a prominent family, but his martial arts skills were no match for the bodyguards who were protecting Zhao Yan. They held him tightly, and he couldn't get any closer.
He was both angry and anxious. "She is from the Prime Minister's residence. It is only right for me to take her back. If you don't let her go, don't blame me for being ruthless."
No one spoke to him; only increasingly urgent threats flashed before his eyes, forcing Jiang Zhenlin to raise his mental guard to the maximum.
The guards were also secretly surprised. They hadn't expected Jiang Zhenlin to be able to hold them off for so long. He only had so little skill, yet he managed to drag them out for so long with just his drive.
Suddenly, a furious roar from King Jing echoed from the flowerbed.
In a moment of panic, Gao Peng rushed forward without regard for the consequences to help Jiang Zhenlin, shouting, "Ah Lin, I'll hold them off, you go and save people!"
A slight smile appeared in Jiang Zhenlin's cold eyes as he panted heavily, "You overestimate me. I wish I could, but I can't get rid of these bastards!"
Gao Peng was also struggling to cope. He was afraid of pain, falls, and punches, and said in a trembling voice, "I told you we had to outsmart them."
"If you had reminded me earlier, I wouldn't have let her come to the flowerbed!"
Gao Peng didn't have time to talk to him. Before he knew it, he got kicked in the buttocks and screamed in pain.
As soon as Tong Di arrived, he saw them fighting amongst themselves. With a quick glance, he took advantage of Jiang Zhenlin and Gao Peng keeping the others occupied, and he flashed to the door with ease. Chang Feng was a beat too slow to react and was acupunctured by him.
