Chapter 14 Fighting with Cousins
Seeing their attitudes, Ding Xiaodie raised her pointed chin and said, "Cousin, what's the matter?"
Unexpectedly, she was no longer as timid as before, like a skinny little cat that wanted to hide in a corner.
Ding Xue immediately pointed in front of her angrily and said, "I told you to come here, did you hear me? If you don't obey, I'll beat you every time I see you."
Yeah?
Ding Xiaodie's big watery eyes turned around, and she walked up to them with her short legs. Her calm look made Ding Xue and Ding Jie, the brother and sister, stunned for a moment.
Even ten-year-old Ding Jie felt a little timid.
He didn't know why, but he felt that his cousin seemed different from before. Now she seemed a little fierce and aggressive.
Ding Xue was different. She was not afraid of a dwarf who was not even as tall as her shoulders. When Ding Xiaodie approached and just stopped, she grabbed her collar and lifted her up on tiptoes.
Then he gritted his teeth and asked, "I heard that your third branch wants us to support that old woman?"
With her hand tightly gripping her collar, Ding Xiaodie found it difficult to breathe. Her small face, half the size of a palm, turned red instantly. Just when she was about to do something.
Two more half-grown children came running over.
They are the eldest daughter of my second uncle Dingde, Dingmei, thirteen years old; and the second youngest daughter, Dingxiang, nine years old.
When the two of them got closer, Ding Mei said, "Sister, please let go."
After she finished speaking, she walked forward and pried Ding Xue's hands apart, causing Ding Xiaodie to fall to the ground with a plop. While she was rubbing her butt, the two cousins started arguing.
Fourteen-year-old Ding Xue scolded, "What are you doing? How can you be so nosy?"
Thirteen-year-old Ding Mei said, "If you keep pulling her, she'll die. Don't think the child won't be arrested by the government. What will you do then?"
"How could she die? I just mentioned it for a moment."
"Oh, cousin, you should be thanking me instead of blaming me."
Ding Xiaodie thought to herself, wow, this second cousin is pretty good, she can actually help her.
But Ding Mei's next words made her extremely disappointed: "What if you kill Xiaodie? Then Third Uncle and Third Aunt will have an excuse not to support that old woman. Think about it, won't it be the responsibility of our two families then?"
Ding Xue then looked at the other person without saying anything.
Ding Xiaodie suddenly felt like ten thousand alpacas were galloping past.
No wonder girls of this era get married early. They are so meticulous and sophisticated, aren’t they?
At this moment, a pair of small hands as thin as chicken feet reached out to support her. In front of her was a little guy with a round face, round eyes, and a mouth as small as a flower, who was smiling at her with his head tilted.
Nine-year-old Lilac!!
He is much more sensible than the two older ones.
"Thank you, cousin."
Ding Xiaodie stood up and touched the little girl's head affectionately. Although she was not much taller than her, she looked very friendly.
Ding Xiang smiled with her eyes curved: "You're welcome, cousin."
The conversation between the two of them made the person who was arguing stop. They all glared at Dingxiang with dissatisfaction, saying that she was a traitor.
But the little guy didn't seem afraid, he just stuck out his tongue.
Afterwards, Ding Xue once again pointed the finger at Ding Xiaodie: "Go back and tell that old woman that she never took care of us when we were little. Now she wants us to raise her. Don't dream. Whether she lives or dies has nothing to do with our eldest wife. Besides, she's so old, it's a waste of food for her to live. And she still wants to implicate others, humph!"
Ding Xiaodie looked at her without blinking.
Good job!
He is so cruel at such a young age that he can say such things.
But she wasn't anxious or annoyed. Instead, she looked at Ding Jie innocently: "Cousin, have you remembered everything your sister said? When you grow up, remember to treat your parents the same way. Do you understand?"
Ding Jie was a little confused.
What does this have to do with anything? His mind is so confused. Why would he treat his parents like this?
Maybe it was because her little cousin suddenly became fierce and frightening, but for some unknown reason, ten-year-old Ding Jie actually nodded.
How can this be?
Mr. and Mrs. Ding Rong, who were listening to the children talking in the main room, were almost so angry that they vomited blood.
Originally, these words were passed on to the third room by their daughter, which would have saved them the trouble and saved them from having to show up. But who would have thought that this damn girl Ding Xiaodie would teach Ding Jie like this.
What is this called?
The stick I threw to beat the dog hit me directly. It hurt.
At that moment, Zhu came to the door angrily and shouted, "Ding Xue, Ding Jie, go back to the house."
Seeing that their mother looked like she wanted to eat someone, the two siblings had no choice but to go into the house obediently.
But Ding Mei was very happy. She didn't expect Ding Jie to be so stupid that she didn't even realize she was being fooled.
However, she soon received an unfriendly look from her aunt, so she quickly turned around and took her sister Dingxiang back to find her mother.
For a moment, there were only two people left at the door of this family. One was Zhu, whose eyes were wide open and she looked like she wanted to eat the other person alive. The other was Ding Xiaodie, who was pitifully thin but looked calm.
After a while of confrontation, Zhu was furious and said, "Ding Xiaodie, you..."
"Wow!"
Before Zhu could finish her words, Ding Xiaodie suddenly fell back onto the ground, rubbing her eyes and bursting into tears, crying, "Auntie hit me, Auntie hit me!"
What?
Zhu was stunned. She didn't even touch her. This damn girl was really good at lying.
As Ding Xiaodie continued to cry, people gradually came out to see what was going on. In a hurry, Zhu had to try to help Ding Xiaodie get up, but she had just stretched out her hand.
Ding Xiaodie immediately hugged her hands and cried loudly: "Aunt, I was wrong, please don't hit me. We all know that you don't want to support grandma, so don't raise her. You even cursed her to die early. Woo woo, grandma, poor grandma."
"..." Zhu was completely confused. She had never said these words, at least not in public.
More and more villagers gathered around, pointing and talking.
“How heartless!”
"That's right, how can a child say such things? Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning?"
"Although Wang has a strong personality, her crime doesn't deserve the death penalty!"
Hearing the villagers' curses, Zhu immediately retorted: "I didn't say that. Besides, I didn't hit her..."
Someone asked, "Why did Xiaodie fall to the ground if she wasn't hit?"
"Oh my god, she sat down on her own." Zhu was going crazy. Why didn't these people listen to her explanation?
Unexpectedly, at this moment, a black shadow suddenly rushed towards her. The other party bent over and exerted all his strength, bumping into Zhu's stomach without anyone being able to defend himself.
"I'm calling you a shameless slut for bullying my Xiaodie."
With a loud bang, Zhu was knocked to the ground.
Wang Dafeng, who bumped into her, brushed the dust off her hands and spat at her: "Bah!"
