In the grove of trees outside the apple orchard.
A tabby cat stealthily hid in the bushes, and soon the bushes rustled.
The tabby cat transformed into a small, thin female.
Cat Nine parted the grass, revealing a pair of brownish-yellow eyes, and looked in the direction of the apple orchard.
The apple orchard is right next to the woods.
The apple trees inside have grown to half a meter tall, with a few tender green leaves hanging on the branches. At a glance, there are rows and rows of apple saplings.
It didn't feel spectacular.
Cat Nine heard that Atang has been growing some kind of fruit lately.
She found it strange.
Cat-like beastmen are carnivorous and do not like to eat fruit. When A-Tang was in the tribe, she never ate fruit.
Moreover, the tribe had never heard of growing such a fruit before.
Dig a hole, put the fruit in the soil and bury it, and after a while, the fruit will grow.
How could that be!
If that's the case, then if they dig pits to bury their prey, wouldn't they be able to harvest a lot of prey next year?
Nobody needs to hunt anymore?
Ah Tang is simply dreaming!
"I want to see what Ah Tang is up to."
Cat Nine crept stealthily toward the apple orchard.
I wanted to sneak in and find out what was going on, but as soon as I took a step...
"hiss!"
A sharp pain shot through the sole of his foot. Cat Nine lifted his foot and looked down. Several bloody holes had appeared on the dark yellow sole of his foot.
There were thorns on the ground!
“Ah Tang is definitely up to something. There’s some soil and grass, and it’s surrounded by thorns. It must be hiding something good.”
Cat Nine gritted his teeth and painfully pulled out the thorn from the sole of his foot.
I went back to the grove and found a branch, intending to pull the thorns away.
The fence around the apple orchard wasn't high, just over a meter high; you could easily climb over it by pushing aside the thorns.
On the other side.
Hu Shen and Da Qing were moving stones to repair the irrigation canal.
Two large bamboo baskets were joined together and placed on the tiger's back, like carrying a shoulder pole.
Daqing used its two claws to grab the frame and airlift it.
Suddenly, Hu Shen saw a figure outside the apple orchard.
He had excellent eyesight and could tell at a glance that it was a female.
He was dark-skinned and thin, and seemed to be a member of Atang's clan.
What is she doing outside the orchard?
Could it be that he's going to find Ah Tang?
Hu Shen remembered that the talkative Da Qing had told him that there were thorns outside, so he stopped.
After thinking about it, I decided to remind Atang's people!
Ah Tang is so kind; she would be very worried if her people were injured.
"Roar!!"
Because he was carrying a stone, Hu Shen could only let out a friendly roar as a warning.
In an instant, a powerful, deafening whistling sound pierced through the entire forest.
Just as Mao Jiu was holding up a branch, ready to clear away the thorns, he suddenly heard this fierce howl, which startled him so much that he dropped the branch.
"Where...where did that sound come from?"
Cat Nine trembled as he looked around. There was nothing there, yet he had a feeling of impending doom and the earth shaking.
She suddenly remembered hearing from the gray wolf orcs that there had been cannibalistic orcs near their tribe, who were extremely ferocious and terrifying.
Cat Nine's face turned pale, and not daring to stay any longer, he took off running.
Su Tang, who was walking her cat, also heard the sound.
The tiger's roar was powerful and resonant, shaking the heavens. For some reason, Su Tang thought of the beast form of Hu Shen that she had seen in the forest that day—a large, majestic tiger with a golden body.
I was wondering why there was a tiger's roar.
The five kittens at my feet suddenly became excited.
It gripped the ground with all four paws, held its head high, and imitated the pose quite well.
"Roar~"
"Ha~"
It made a series of cute, baby-like sounds.
Although the kitten is quite big, it still has a babyish voice because of its age.
Su Tang was both amused and exasperated. She poked Da Bao's forehead and said:
"That's the roar of a big tiger. You're just little kittens. Little kittens don't roar like that."
Da Bao tilted his head, his big eyes full of confusion, "Huh?"
"Roar~"
"Awoo~"
Several kittens were jumping around, meowing happily.
Su Tang finally realized something was wrong.
She doesn't recall ever hearing the kitten meow before!
"Could it be that I never taught them? Don't the kittens know how to meow?" Su Tang began to reflect on herself.
That seems to be the case!
The cubs have a strong learning ability, but no beastmen in the family have ever taught them how to make noise. Now, after hearing the tiger's roar once, they have learned it!
She seems to be a rather incompetent mother.
Su Tang felt somewhat guilty.
So I pulled the kitten over.
“Come here, little ones, let Mommy teach you. Kittens meow, meow... Learn from Mommy, meow..."
Su Tang squatted down, cupped the kittens' faces in her hands, looked into their eyes, and earnestly taught them to meow.
The five kittens seemed to sense Su Tang's seriousness, lined up in a row, blinked their big, innocent eyes, and stared blankly at their mother.
Su Tang: "Meow~"
Kitten: "Awooo!"
Su Tang: "Meow~"
Kitten: "Meow?"
Su Tang: "Meow~"
Kitten: "Meow!"
Hearing the cat's meows gradually correct themselves, Su Tang showed a satisfied expression.
"You're so great, little one!"
Her child is indeed smart; he learns it in no time.
It was a little strange, though, because it sounded different from the cat meows she had heard before.
Oh well, maybe they just learned it and the kids aren't used to it yet. They'll get used to it eventually!
Su Tang continued to stroll around with the baby.
The five kittens, excitedly praised, ran ahead, chasing each other and occasionally letting out excited meows.
