Cat Nine and Lion Feather diligently dug a hole, trying to escape.
The females in the corner watched the two men's actions with blank expressions, offering neither obstruction nor assistance.
It looks like a sculpture hidden in the darkness.
Every time Cat Nine brought soil out of the cave and saw the females outside, he felt a chill run down his spine.
These females seem to be sick; instead of trying to escape, they're all just waiting to die here.
But she had no time to worry about others and went inside to help.
More diligent than ever before.
Cat Nine was secretly delighted. She had now gone through thick and thin with Lion Feather, and she wanted to perform well. Maybe Lion Feather would forget about A Tang and fall in love with her instead.
"Knock knock..."
Lion Feather's movements were rough and unruly, relying entirely on brute force.
Soon, he broke through a thick wall.
They've made it through!
"Great, Lionfeather, we can go out now!"
Cat Nine called out excitedly from behind.
The next second, the clod of earth above their heads collapsed with a loud crash.
An entire row of caves collapsed due to Lionfeather's violent digging.
The loud noise instantly attracted the Zerg orcs.
"Who! Who did this?!"
The Zerg orcs angrily entered the cave, glanced around, and saw that the female in the corner was still motionless, while two dusty orcs crawled out of the mound.
Looking up, they saw several strangely-looking insectoid orcs staring intently at them.
Mao Jiu chuckled sheepishly, "It has nothing to do with us, this dirt just suddenly came crashing down..."
Due to the cave collapse, all the orcs in the collapsed caves moved to other caves.
Fortunately, because the cave had collapsed completely, the Zerg orcs did not know that the two had dug a hole to escape, and only thought that the cave was not sturdy enough.
Cat Nine watched Lion Feather continue digging, "Lion Feather, the hole won't collapse again this time, will it?"
"No more." Lion Feather's gaze was firm; he already had experience with this.
The third time we dug the tunnel, it definitely won't collapse again.
Hearing his affirmative words, Mao Jiu felt a little relieved, realizing that what had just happened must have been an accident.
How could a beastman as powerful as Lionfeather not even know how to dig a hole?
This time, Lionfeather slowed down, and the cave did not collapse.
Seeing the hole that had been dug open again, Mao Jiu's face lit up with joy.
"Are we able to get out this time? Is it a road leading outside?"
The two excitedly climbed out of the cave, only to find that what they saw was not the outside world, but pairs of green and yellow compound eyes.
They came out.
We arrived at the cave of the Zerg orcs.
...
Su Tang entered the cave.
Zerg orcs stood on both sides of the cave, with two large males at the front.
It was the iconic Zerg orc Zhang Xiang that she had just seen.
One had bright green hair, and the other had a yellowish face; the two of them standing together looked like a palette of colors.
"Female, do you really have a way to ensure our numerous offspring hatch successfully?"
The chief, his face sallow, asked impatiently.
Su Tang looked her over discreetly and nodded in agreement.
"Yes, I have a way."
Upon hearing this, a flicker of excitement flashed in the leader's eyes, but it was quickly masked by a ruthless glint.
"Female, if you lie to me, I'll kill you right now."
Su Tang showed no fear. "If it doesn't work, then kill me. But if it does work, I hope you will spare me and my cubs."
To the Zerg orcs, her appearance suggested she was risking everything to save herself and her cubs.
Females will do anything to protect their young.
The leader had already witnessed this from the group of stone moth beastmen.
Seeing Su Tang like this, most of his concerns were dispelled.
“You are a smart female. As long as you can help our cubs hatch successfully, I guarantee that you and your cubs will be in no danger.”
The leader promised.
Upon hearing this, Su Tang's face showed a relieved expression.
"Did your offspring die before they even hatched, because the parasites were already dead?"
"How did you know?" The chieftain looked surprised. Besides him and the second chieftain, only the orcs who cared for the cubs knew about this.
The other orcs only knew that the cubs couldn't hatch, but they didn't know why.
Su Tang looked enlightened and slowly said, "Actually, the method is very simple. As long as these parasites are taken good care of, the Zerg larvae can hatch smoothly."
Parasitic wasp larvae need to obtain enough nutrients from the parasite to grow up, break free of the parasite, and successfully hatch.
However, before it can hatch, the parasite dies, and without nutrients for them to absorb, they naturally become weak and dying.
"So, we're supposed to take care of those cubs?"
The leader's face was grim; why were these insectoid orcs taking care of a parasite?
"Of course not. We can have the cubs' tribespeople take care of them. This place is heavily guarded; even if they come out, they won't be able to escape."
"If you don't believe me, try it on a cub first and you'll see."
Su Tang simply laid out the method.
The second leader frowned. "This female is definitely trying to help them escape. This method sounds fake."
The leader remained silent, lost in thought for a moment.
"Someone, go and capture a female and have her take care of the cubs."
After saying that, he looked at Su Tang with a cold gaze.
"If your method doesn't work, you and your cubs can both become parasites."
Su Tang looked at him calmly and said, "Okay."
Seeing Su Tang's confident expression, the two leaders became suspicious.
