Chapter 258 Attacking the Canyon

The veterinarian was groping around with his hands when he accidentally poked his index and middle fingers into Shida's nostrils.

Shida's temples throbbed. He grabbed the veterinarian's hand and pulled him to Shitian's side.

"The leader is here."

The veterinarian opened his eyes wide in a daze, only to realize that he had mistaken the person for someone else. He quickly lowered his head and began to examine Lion Sky again, touching it all over.

He pinched his head, then opened his eyelids, fidgeting for a while, his expression growing increasingly grave.

"Veterinarian, what's wrong with my father?"

"How is the leader, veterinarian? Say something."

Seeing that the veterinarian hadn't spoken for a while, the two of them became a little anxious and urged him to ask.

"Little Chief, the Chief has an injury on his leg. Let me apply medicine to the Chief first." The veterinarian searched for a long time but couldn't figure out why Lion Sky had fainted, so he could only treat his wound first.

After spending several days in the forest, Lion's leg injury worsened, even becoming infected and oozing pus, which was quite gruesome.

This veterinarian was more reliable than the rabbit-tribe veterinarian. He went back and got some unknown herbs, chewed them up, mixed them with saliva, and applied them to the wound on Lion's leg.

Under the watchful eyes of the other beasts, it circled Lion Sky, rolling its eyes and jumping around like a possessed spirit, muttering incantations.

Whether it works or not, the veterinarian doesn't know; in any case, this is how veterinarians have treated patients throughout history.

The orcs standing nearby, seeing this, all wore expressions of reverence and dared not utter a sound to disturb them.

Lion Feather was extremely anxious. When he looked at Lion Sky on the ground, he noticed that Lion Sky's face was getting paler and paler, and his lips were turning purple. It was even worse than before.

The veterinarian stopped, sweating profusely, and Lion Feather eagerly asked:

"Veterinarian, why hasn't my father woken up yet?"

The veterinarian rolled his eyes; he'd rolled his eyes too much during the shamanistic ritual earlier, and now he couldn't quite control them.

He rubbed his aching back and explained, "Young chief, don't be impatient, we need to wait a little longer."

He's a veterinarian, not a beast god. How could he possibly wake up a comatose beastman immediately?

Upon hearing this, Lion Feather had no choice but to wait aside.

A dozen minutes later, Shi Tian not only did not wake up, but his body began to convulse and white foam came out of his mouth.

Lion Feather panicked and hugged Lion Sky, crying, "Father! Father, what's wrong with you...?"

"Veterinarian, what's going on! Weren't you treating my father?!"

Shitatsu's face darkened as he grabbed the veterinarian's arm. "Can you even cure the leader?!"

The veterinarian tremblingly wiped the sweat from the corner of his eye. "This... the chieftain's injuries are too severe; I'm afraid he can't be cured."

Even a beast could see that the leader looked deathly pale and lifeless.

"Impossible! You must have a way to cure my father, veterinarian, please think of another way, I'll do anything for you." Lion Feather looked incredulous.

His father was the most powerful orc in his memory, capable of commanding the wind and rain and being omnipotent. How could he possibly die after being attacked by a pack of wolves once!

Any orc may die from injury, but his father would never.

"You'd better explain yourself clearly what you mean by 'incurable.' If the leader doesn't wake up, you won't live either!" Shida's face turned completely black. He had followed Shitian since childhood and was his most loyal subordinate.

He shared the same thought as Lionfeather: the leader was always the most strong-willed, and he could endure any injury, so how could he not withstand this little one?

He didn't have time to think about why Shitian had fainted; he just wanted to wake Shitian up first.

The surrounding orcs couldn't believe it either, and then panic ensued. Their leader was gone; what were they to do?

They're still waiting for their leader to lead them back to Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain!

For a time, panic gripped the people in the canyon.

The veterinarian shuddered at the murderous intent in Shida's eyes.

"I...I'm not lying. The leader is very ill, and now I'm afraid only the divine stone can save his life..."

“A divine stone? But our tribe doesn’t have a divine stone.” Lion Feather stood up anxiously. “I’ll go find a divine stone. Father will definitely get better.”

Unlike Lionfeather, he was an unambitious orc, but that didn't mean he was without feelings.

“Little chief, wait a minute.” Shida grabbed Shiling’s arm. “No need to look for it. Chief, you still have the last divine stone.”

That was originally meant for the leader to save his own life, but unexpectedly it has come in handy now.

Lion Feather's eyes lit up. "Really! Where is the divine stone? Go get it for Father."

He was about to go look for it when Shida stopped him again.

"Young chieftain, the divine stone isn't in the tribe, the divine stone is..."

Before he could finish speaking, a lion-clan beastman with a panicked expression suddenly ran in from outside the canyon and hurriedly came to Lionda's side.

"It's terrible! Orcs have broken in! It's Hu Shen leading the orcs from Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain!"

Shida and the other beasts present changed their expressions drastically.

The leader was unconscious, and just then, orcs attacked their door. It was as if the heavens were going to destroy them.

"Why are orcs attacking us? Shida, didn't you say that Father wouldn't go to seize Ten Thousand Beast Mountain anymore?" Shiling keenly sensed something was wrong and turned to ask Shida.

The lion race is a powerful race. From childhood to adulthood, he had only ever seen lion orcs attack other tribes, but had never been attacked by other tribes.

In his memory, the only thing that could make his father and Shida so wary was the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain.

But they clearly came from the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain as well.

Shida's eyes flickered, and he quickly came up with an excuse, "The chief does indeed intend to live here with the young chief, but that vicious beastman Hu Shen is not satisfied with just getting the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain, he wants to exterminate the chief!"

It's obvious that only the orcs from Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain could get here first and attack the tribe.

Lion Feather frowned. "How could he do this? Father no longer wants Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain. I'm going to find him!"

Before Lionda could speak, the other orcs stopped Lionfeather.

"You can't go, little chieftain. Hu Shen has brought over a thousand orcs and has already killed many of them outside the canyon. If you go now, you'll be killed."

Shitatsuya said, "Little chief, the most urgent thing now is to save the chief. Let's go get the divine stone first."

Looking at the dying Lion Sky, Lion Feather could only nod.

"Someone, gather all the orcs in the canyon and stop them. You few, come with me and the little chief to escort the chief to get the divine stone."

After giving his orders, Shida selected several of the strongest orcs to carry Shitian into the canyon.

Lion Feather sensed something was wrong, but the situation was urgent, and she didn't have time to think about it in detail before following them.

The other orcs rushed out of the tribe without hesitation, hoping that their leader would come to their rescue once he woke up.

If the orcs of Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain capture their leader, then we're truly doomed.

"This isn't the cave where supplies are stored, Shida. Where is the Divine Stone? Where are we going to get it?" Shiling looked at the increasingly remote road with a puzzled expression.

He had been away from the tribe for so long that he didn't even know the tribe had this road; it seemed there hadn't been one before.
