"A tribe?" Hu Ming looked puzzled as he gazed at the hillside and the small cave entrance in front of him.
The scene before them had absolutely nothing to do with a tribe.
The tiger-clan beastmen behind him wanted to go in, but the voices inside immediately stopped them.
"Stop! You're not allowed in. If you come any closer, I'll use my weapon!"
The beastmen looked at each other, then turned to look at Hu Shen with questions.
Just then, a steady voice came from inside.
"Xiao Mao, who's outside?"
"I don't know, Uncle Gan. A group of orcs tried to break into our tribe, but I stopped them," the voice that spoke first replied.
Seeing this, Hu Shen walked up to Hu Ming and said to the beastmen inside, "We are beastmen passing by. It's windy outside, so we want to take shelter here and rest for the night."
They had only been here a short while, and it was already getting dark.
The weather was so abnormal that they couldn't continue their journey, and they couldn't find a more suitable place to camp.
"There's nowhere for you to rest. Get out of our tribe!" The voice inside continued to urge them on, its tone harsh, but you could tell they were actually terrified.
"Xiao Mao!" The voice behind him became more serious.
Immediately afterwards, footsteps sounded, and a short, middle-aged orc emerged from the cave, bending over.
Su Tang looked over.
The middle-aged orc had a fierce look in his eyes and a stern face, giving him the appearance of a menacing man.
A boy of about fifteen or sixteen years old emerged from behind him.
The boy looked malnourished, thin and bony, but his eyes were very sharp, and his face was full of vigilance and dissatisfaction.
"Uncle Gan! Their origins are unknown, don't bother with them." The boy called Xiao Mao glanced at them warily, seemingly wanting to pull the middle-aged orc back.
"Alright, Xiao Mao." Uncle Gan raised his hand, signaling Xiao Mao to shut up.
"Are you a tribe? We've just come here to rest for the night. Where is your chief? Please call your chief out for a talk." Su Jianyuan was an impatient man and asked loudly.
“We won’t stay for free; we can give you white stones in exchange.”
They weren't robbers or bandits. Since this was their territory, they should act like guests if they were staying here.
"Shiraishi?" Upon hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Xiao Mao's eyes, but it was quickly concealed by his guard.
Uncle Gan looked the group of beastmen up and down, and then said, "I am the leader."
His gaze fell on Hu Shen, who was the leader, and he could sense that he was a powerful orc.
Even if he doesn't provide accommodation, these orcs probably won't leave today.
"Come in, there aren't many seats, you'll have to squeeze in."
As soon as Uncle Gan stepped aside to make way, Xiao Mao shouted excitedly.
"Uncle Gan! We can't let them in! Have you forgotten those guys from last time? They came in and stole our stuff and the females!"
"What if they're in cahoots?!"
Xiao Mao was agitated, as if he had been stimulated by something, and his eyes were red.
Su Jianyuan chuckled upon hearing this, "Kid, if we wanted to rob something, would we need to wait here for your permission to come in?"
Xiao Mao then noticed a large group of orcs standing outside, and he was speechless for a moment.
"Alright, Xiao Mao, let them in. It's windy outside, and we're about to close the cave. Hurry up," Uncle Gan said in a deep voice. Xiao Mao obediently stepped aside, but his eyes were still filled with dissatisfaction.
"Thank you!" Hu Shen nodded slightly to express his gratitude.
With Uncle Gan's permission, Su Tang led Si Bao and followed Hu Shen into the cave quickly.
Because the cave was too small, they had to stoop and bend over to get in.
Sibao was so big that he almost got stuck.
Several hundred orcs were quickly crammed into the cave.
Upon entering the cave, Su Tang discovered that the space inside was quite large. Right at the entrance was a large open area, which was dimly lit, but it was clearly a circular open space.
There are many holes on the opposite side, about a dozen, distributed around the perimeter.
The opening inside is much larger, a normal size for people to enter and exit.
After Su Tang and her group of orcs all entered, more than a dozen orcs came out from behind Uncle Gan and together they pushed an irregularly shaped round stone.
With a loud "boom," the entrance to the cave was blocked.
There were still some gaps, so the orcs mixed water, mud, and some unknown mixture together to seal the remaining gaps.
Soon, not a single light could be seen in the cave, and the sound of the wind outside also decreased significantly.
All the beasts breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing that Su Tang and Hu Shen's group had been let in by Uncle Gan, the other orcs in the cave didn't say anything, but simply kept their distance from them.
They made quite a commotion when they came in.
Su Tang saw several heads peeking out of the holes; they were probably cubs, with long ears, seemingly curiously observing them.
As soon as her gaze swept over, those long ears immediately shrank back, as if playing a game of whack-a-mole.
Su Tang's eyes showed a hint of curiosity.
Uncle Gan said something to his orcs, then walked up to them.
“Our cave isn’t that big, so you’ll have to split up and squeeze in. I’ll take you there.”
After saying that, he led them to the middle of the cave entrance.
It's not narrow inside; three or four adult males can pass through at the same time.
Uncle Gan, being the leader, recognized that Hu Shen was also the leader of this group of beastmen. He arranged a total of five caves: four large caves for the other beastmen to live in, and one small cave for Hu Shen and Su Jianyuan.
