Su Tang felt that her chances of escaping had increased, so she closed her eyes to rest.
Not long after, Xu Zhengqiao brought the roasted rabbit meat to her.
"Tangtang, come and eat."
The smell of burning meat filled Su Tang's nostrils. She opened her eyes, glanced at the meat, and then immediately turned her head away.
Not wanting to provoke the pervert by talking, she simply stopped talking.
Xu Zhengqiao wasn't angry and placed the rabbit meat next to her.
"Then you can eat it when you want. I'll go out and get you some water."
He then turned and left.
He seemed so hardworking and conscientious that Su Tang would have been fooled if she hadn't known about his perverted behavior.
Su Tang leaned against the wall and closed her eyes to rest.
It wasn't that she really wanted to starve herself; it was just that the food had no appetite for her and was worlds apart from the lean meat porridge that Hu Shen had made that morning.
Xu Zhengqiao had probably only found this cave recently, so the contents inside were not complete.
With her eyes closed, Su Tang could hear Xu Zhengqiao going in and out several times.
The sky was obscured from inside the cave, and Su Tang didn't know how much time had passed before the sound finally stopped.
She was dozing, but her mind was clearer than ever before.
A rough hand gripped her chin, forcing her to lift it and open her eyes to meet its gaze.
"Tangtang, why aren't you eating what I prepared for you? You can't go hungry, it will break my heart..."
His movements were rough and forceful, yet his tone was extremely gentle.
Su Tang got goosebumps listening to this.
Unable to overcome him, she simply shifted her gaze to the side.
Xu Zhengqiao knew Su Tang's stubbornness, chuckled, and forced her to look at him again.
"Tangtang, I'm going to get angry if you don't eat."
"Or do you want those little brats to come keep you company? What are their names again, Da Bao and Er Bao?"
