A tiny scorpion, no bigger than a thumb and as red as a ruby, crawled onto the ground.
The little scorpion found her when she first arrived here with the orcs.
"This is……"
“It knows where Shiwei is buried, A-Tang. Please believe me, I’m not causing trouble. I really want to rescue Shiwei.” Lin Shanyue looked at Su Tang with a sincere expression and earnest eyes.
She was afraid that Su Tang would think she was lying.
"I believe you." Su Tang nodded without hesitation. She didn't think that Lin Shanyue had come all the way here with the orcs just to cause trouble.
Seeing the undisguised trust in Su Tang's eyes, Lin Shanyue's eyes reddened, and she quickly lowered her head to say to the little scorpion;
"Quickly lead the way and tell me where Shiwei is now."
The little scorpion flicked its tail, as if it understood Lin Shanyue's words, and turned around to nimbly climb down the cliff.
Seeing this, Hu Shen waved for Ying Jie to come back and followed the little scorpion down to search.
The little scorpion scurried quickly and soon reached the bottom of the ravine, its tiny body moving nimbly across the rocks.
Soon, it stopped on a large rock, touched the rock with the tip of its tail, and then remained still.
"That's it! Shiwei must be down there!" Lin Shanyue said excitedly.
The beasts looked and saw that it was in the direction Su Tang had just pointed, but it was off by about two or three meters.
Hu Shen gave him a wink, and Ying Jie and his men immediately began digging.
The little scorpion then burrowed into the crevice, seemingly leading the way for everyone.
As the stones were dug away one by one, the hole grew deeper and deeper, and everyone's hearts were in their throats, fearing that something unexpected might happen.
Underground.
Su Shiwei was exhausted. He had been walking in the forest all day and had fallen and injured himself. Looking at the seemingly endless rocks in front of him, he felt as if a voice in his mind was constantly telling him to give up.
Su Shiwei couldn't hold on any longer, so he pressed his hands against the wounds on his body through his clothes. The pain instantly brought him back to his senses, and the noisy sounds in his mind quickly disappeared.
His eyes were firm, and his hands moved slowly and deliberately, feeling around and shifting the stone above his head.
Just as he moved a stone, a faint sound came from above, as if the stone was shaking and even dust was falling down.
Su Shiwei was startled and quickly retreated back into the cave she had just dug to the side.
Fortunately, he had just dug himself a hiding place.
"Snap!"
A small stone fell down, and then several faint white lights shone down.
The originally faint moonlight now appeared to Su Shiwei like a bright flashlight, shining down from above.
He was stunned for a moment, and soon the light increased, with small stones falling down continuously, but no large stones fell.
He clearly estimated that he hadn't even dug halfway through.
"It's through! It's through!"
"Where is he?"
The orc's surprised voice came from the cave entrance, and Su Shiwei also came back to her senses.
It was the orcs from Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain who came looking for him.
He quickly got up and crawled out.
A small red scorpion was wagging its tail arrogantly in a crevice in the rock.
Seeing the little scorpion that had been lost and found again, Su Shiwei was a little surprised. Could it be that this little scorpion led the orc to him?
With the help of the orcs, Su Shiwei successfully returned to the cliff face.
"Brother!"
"I'm sorry to have worried you all." Su Shiwei felt a little ashamed seeing so many orcs coming to find her in the middle of the night.
"You're injured." Su Tang looked at his torn clothes and the dried blood.
There were bloodstains everywhere, and too many holes in his body; it was impossible to tell exactly where he was injured.
"I'm fine. I just had some minor injuries when I fell. It's nothing serious." Su Shiwei moved her hands and feet to show Su Tang.
Then, as if remembering something, she was about to ask a question when Su Tang pulled Lin Shanyue close.
"We were so grateful to Shanyue just now. If it weren't for her help, we wouldn't have been able to find you so quickly."
Looking at Lin Shanyue, Su Shiwei's earlier guess was confirmed.
"Thank you. If it weren't for you, I might have become the first orc to be crushed to death by a rock." Su Shiwei joked to ease the tense atmosphere.
"It's good that you're alright." Lin Shanyue didn't dare to take credit. It was everyone's achievement that Su Shiwei was rescued; every beastman here contributed.
The little scorpion had somehow climbed onto Su Shiwei's clothes and slowly crawled into the bottle.
Seeing this, Su Shiwei also put the bottle cap back on, no longer as wary of the scorpion as before.
It was already late at night when the group of orcs returned to Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain.
To thank the orcs for their help, Hu Shen gave all the orcs a day's worth of food. Although it wasn't much, the orcs considered it the most practical and best reward.
The orcs happily returned home.
Knowing that Su Shiwei was reluctant to let Lin Shanyue go through all that hardship, Su Tang asked Hu Ming to take her back to the cave and bring her food.
They called a veterinarian to treat Su Shiwei's wounds, and by the time they finished, it was already dawn.
The kids had already eaten dinner last night and went back to their rooms to sleep soundly.
Su Tang and the others were still hungry. With their stomachs rumbling, the three of them were wide awake. They decided to reheat the food from last night and cook a pot of lean meat porridge.
After a hearty meal, Su Shiwei felt like she had been given a second chance at life.
"Tangtang, I found magnetite at the bottom of the mountain stream. With this, the construction of the railway can be put on the agenda." While Hu Shen was in the kitchen, Su Shiwei couldn't wait to tell Su Tang this good news.
With magnetite, steel could be smelted, and steel was an essential material for building railways.
