“I have breast milk, I can lend it to you.”
The female spoke, looking at Su Tang, and asked with a gentle smile:
"You're the female they're talking about, the one who's going to mate with Wolf Kui, right?"
“My baby is over a month old and is teething, so he doesn’t like drinking milk anymore. It would be great if you could trade me some fruit.”
Wolf Nini spoke in a soft voice, as if she were holding a ball of cotton in her mouth.
She paused after speaking, as if remembering something, and whispered a reminder:
“My name is Lang Nini. I’ve heard about what happened. Take the milk and go back quickly. If you run into Lang Man, he’ll probably cause you trouble again.”
Xiao Fu was so shocked that his jaw almost dropped to the ground.
There really are females willing to exchange milk! How come my luck has improved after my sister's brain injury?
"Thank you!" Su Tang smiled back. "My name is Atang."
None of the beastmen in their family had proper names, so Su Tang introduced herself as such.
Wolf Nini nodded slightly, "Wait here for me."
Upon hearing this, the three stood still at the cave entrance.
For an orc to trespass into another's cave is an act of trespassing, which is considered extremely impolite by orcs.
Only orcs who are completely trusted are allowed to enter his cave.
"Wait, you've already eaten our last two fruits. Now that we have no more fruits, what are we going to use to exchange for her milk?" Xiao Fu quickly thought of another problem.
“Who said there isn’t one?” Su Tang flashed into the farm space. The saplings in the field had grown into big trees, with bright red apples hanging from them.
These apples are big and round, each one as big as a grapefruit.
Su Tang tried to pick the apple, but found that she couldn't pull it off no matter how hard she tried.
Seriously? You can only look at them but not pick them?
Does that mean we can't eat it either?
Thinking of this, Su Tang simply stood on tiptoe, grabbed an apple, and took a bite.
"Ouch!" It's so tough! I can't even bite into it!
Su Tang frowned, and just then, a sudden inspiration struck her, and she thought of that once-popular game.
Since this place is the same as that game, but there's no keyboard or mouse, could it be controlled by thought?
Thinking of this, Su Tang placed her hand on the tree trunk and silently recited in her heart, "Pick it."
The next moment, the apple tree disappeared before Su Tang's eyes, and the farmland became barren again.
Having learned from her previous experience, she was no longer shocked and instead ran to the warehouse.
The warehouse shelves stretched out in rows, seemingly without end. On the shelf closest to the door, there was a row of red apples, which she had just picked.
Su Tang approached and counted them; there were ten apples in total.
It's rare for an apple tree to bear ten apples, but this one is ten times the size of a regular apple, so it's quite a lot.
Without hesitation, Su Tang reached out and touched one of the apples, silently uttering the word "planting," and the number of apples on the shelf increased to nine.
She looked from the warehouse door toward the farmland, where a small sapling had sprouted from the previously bare ground, with a countdown timer on it also showing one hour.
“Great, the fruit can also be used as seeds.” Su Tang concluded that this way she wouldn’t have to go out and look for fruit again.
Since it can be planted and harvested in just one hour, she should make the most of the time to plant more.
This is their family's only source of food right now.
Su Tang took three large apples from the shelf and left the space.
"Where did we get these fruits..." Xiao Fu's voice trailed off as he stared dumbfounded at the three large apples in Su Tang's arms. "Where did these come from?"
He remembered that it hadn't been there just now.
"I brought it from home," Su Tang said without batting an eye.
“But you clearly didn’t have any fruit in your hand just now…” Xiao Fu looked at her suspiciously.
What the hell? Is he seeing things?
"I'm holding it, do you have a problem with that?" Su Jianyuan patted Xiao Fu's shoulder and asked in a rough voice.
Xiao Fu's shoulders twitched, and he subconsciously shrank his neck. He realized that he hadn't paid much attention just now, so he thought he must have misremembered.
“But we’ve run out of fruit. I remember the fruit was very small, not this big…” he muttered to himself, feeling that something was wrong.
Su Tang glanced at Xiao Fu.
This little wolf cub is quite suspicious.
"There really aren't any more fruits at home. We picked these on our way to find you." She made up a plausible explanation, half true and half false, and Xiao Fu couldn't find any fault with it.
I waited for about fifteen minutes.
Wolf Nini came out again, carrying a large leaf folded into the shape of a bowl, filled with a lot of milk.
Su Jianyuan took the leaf, and Su Tang handed three grapefruit-sized apples to Lang Nini.
"Such big fruits?!" Wolf Nini exclaimed in surprise. "There are too many. One is enough."
As she spoke, she was about to return the two fruits to Su Tang.
Although wolf-like orcs are carnivorous and do not like to eat fruit, that does not mean that fruit is not precious.
Fruits are also a good source of food during the snowy season when food is scarce.
Su Tang pushed the fruit back, "I need to change my breast milk tomorrow. I have five babies, and they eat a lot."
Upon hearing this, Lang Nini stopped refusing and accepted the gift with embarrassment.
"Then come to me again at this time tomorrow, and I'll save the breast milk for you."
After her wolf cubs grew teeth, they would bite her while nursing, so she stopped nursing them; the milk was useless to her.
She felt she had gotten a good deal from Su Tang by exchanging unwanted breast milk for such a large fruit.
The three of them got their wish and obtained the breast milk. After saying goodbye to Wolf Nini, they headed towards their thatched hut home.
