Chapter Forty-Six: Free Labor

Su Shiwei and Su Jianyuan glanced around in perfect unison, avoiding Lin Xia's fiery gaze.

Lin Xia was furious and didn't have time to be angry with the two of them. Before Su Tang could introduce them, she pulled her aside.

"Tangtang, who is he? Could he be that wandering beastman?"

Su Tang nodded in agreement.

Su Guodong, who was standing to the side, turned pale immediately.

"Daughter, are you confused? Why did you bring him back? Did he threaten you? Father will go and chase him away!"

The thought of his precious daughter, whom he had raised with such care, being bullied by wandering beastmen was unbearable for him.

"Father, Mother, don't be anxious, listen to me..."

Su Tang pulled Su Guodong back with a helpless expression.

Why is Dad even more impulsive than Mom these days?

"Tangtang, what exactly happened? What just happened between you two?" Lin Xia couldn't help but ask.

How can she not be in a hurry!

She had heard that the wandering beastmen were brutal and took pleasure in torturing females; they were the epitome of perversion. She would rather risk her life than let Tangtang suffer like that.

Su Tang gestured for the two elders to calm down and told them about Da Qing's decision to come and live with them.

Lin Xia almost exploded when she heard this.

"What?!"

"He's coming to our house? No way, absolutely not!"

Lin Xia shook her head repeatedly, her face turning as black as charcoal, leaving no room for refusal.

Su Guodong naturally listened to his wife and waved his hand, saying, "Your mother is right, we don't agree to him coming to our house."

"Look at his silly appearance, he's not clever at all. He hasn't even met us yet, but he wants to move into our house. He has no manners whatsoever!"

Su Guodong looked back at Da Qing again and felt that he disliked everything about him.

He's considered one of the most stubborn people in the family, with rather feudalistic ideas and still holding onto modern values.

Who moves into a woman's house like this? What kind of behavior is this!

Su Tang was both amused and exasperated, and quickly held down the two elderly people who were jumping up and down in a panic.

“Father, this is the ancient continent, not the modern world. Orcs don’t care about these things.”

Su Guodong, who was in a state of anxiety and frustration, was taken aback.

"Oh, I forgot we time-traveled."

He pursed his lips, still refusing to budge, "That won't do either, he doesn't respect you! If he really wants to come, let him come and talk to me."

Although he doesn't have a high status in the family, he still has some say in the matter of choosing a son-in-law.

Lin Xia and Su Guodong share the same opinion on this point.

"Yes, you told him to come find us. Even orcs have to listen to their parents, right?"

Su Tang coughed lightly twice.

Seeing that the two were still determined, he used his ultimate technique.

“Even my brother can’t beat him. Look at my brother’s face, that’s where he beat him up.”

Lin Xia and Su Guodong glanced at Su Jianyuan's asymmetrical panda eyes and were startled.

The two fell silent.

There's nothing I can do about my fighting skills being inferior to others!

"Barbaric! Rude! Backward!" Su Guodong exclaimed in exasperation, unable to hold back his criticism.

"I can't just stand by and watch him take advantage of you like this." Lin Xia snorted coldly; she hadn't even learned the word "compromise" yet!

Su Tang continued to patiently guide him:

“Father and Mother, actually, we don’t lose out by having him come to our house.”

"What do you mean?" Lin Xia asked, puzzled.

"This wandering orc came looking for Ah Tang. He said that if she didn't come back to the forest with him, he would stay at the Gray Wolf Tribe."

“I decided to bring him back. We’re short-handed for the work, aren’t we? We don’t know when the cabin will be finished, so it’ll be good to have another helper.”

Su Tang winked at the two elders.

Su Guodong and Lin Xia exchanged a glance.

Free labor?

This sounds alright!

"But he's a wandering orc. What if he suddenly becomes a beast and attacks us?"

Lin Xia was still worried.

She was mainly worried that her daughter would suffer.

After all, in matters between men and women, it is always the women who are more likely to get hurt.

Su Tang suddenly clapped her hands. "That's right! What if I chase him away and anger him? He might just kill us. Wouldn't we be finished?"

"We might as well keep him at home, go along with him for now, and see how things go!"

The two elders thought it made some sense.

But why do they also have this feeling that they've been fooled by their daughter?

With things having come to this point, Lin Xia had no other options.

She pushed Su Guodong aside and said:

"Honey, you go ahead first. I have a few words to say to Tangtang alone."

Su Guodong naturally agreed, nodded, and walked away, leaving the mother and daughter alone.

He was thinking to himself, "What are you saying that you have to say in secret, that even he can't stop listening?"

No, his status in the family is declining day by day. He needs to hurry up and prepare for farming so that he can maintain his status once he grows his own food!

"Mother, what do you want to tell me?" Su Tang asked Lin Xia curiously.

It's rare to see her mother so serious; it's quite a sight.

Lin Xia's expression was serious, with two large knots furrowed between her brows, and she spoke earnestly:

"Tangtang, I can't object to him staying, but there's one thing you have to promise your mother."

"What's wrong?" Su Tang asked, looking puzzled.

"You two can't act recklessly. It was Atang who did the cub thing, and we can't change that, but you can't be like Atang and just do things without thinking..."

Before Lin Xia could finish speaking, Su Tang already understood.

She quickly assured them:
