"What is it?" Su Tang looked at Su Jianyuan warily; he never said anything good.
Su Jianyuan chuckled and rubbed his hands together, saying:
"I'm trying to make a weapon, aren't I? I want to make a bow and arrow, but I'm missing one material for both the bow and the arrow."
"My dear sister, you're quick-witted. Can you help me think of something that's both flexible and not easily broken?"
Su Tang looked at his sly smile with suspicion, feeling that he had ulterior motives.
Although Su Jianyuan usually acts like a hoodlum, he is reliable and doesn't treat hunting as a game.
She thought about it carefully.
“The vines are not easy to break, but they are not resilient... By the way, how about deer tendons? Yesterday, the mother sika deer pulled out her tendons and left them.”
Now that her family is destitute, Lin Xia won't throw away anything useful from the prey.
What if I need it someday?
Anyway, it wouldn't bother them. Over the past few days, Lin Xia had left behind some bones of various sizes, animal hides, and even wild animal teeth, piling them up next to the thatched shed.
"Deer tendon? That's good, bring it over quickly, I want to try it!" Su Jianyuan's eyes lit up. He was only responsible for hunting, so he didn't really know what things in the house could be used.
"Okay, I'll go look for it." Su Tang found the deer tendon in a pile of miscellaneous items and handed it to Su Jianyuan.
Su Jianyuan took the deer tendon but didn't leave, continuing to grin at Su Tang.
"Um... sis, I need to use one more thing."
"What is that?" Su Tang frowned. Her intuition told her that Su Jianyuan's target should be the latter.
"I want to make a bow and arrow. I have the materials for the bow, but I need some feathers for the arrow. Could you lend me a few feathers from your pheasant?"
"Didn't you catch a pheasant today?" Su Tang retorted.
Su Jianyuan pursed his lips and said without thinking, "That pheasant is too small, its feathers haven't grown in yet, it's unusable."
While Su Tang was still hesitating, Su Jianyuan immediately raised his hand to guarantee:
"Sister, I'll just borrow a few feathers. I promise I won't hurt your pheasant. I'll let it lay eggs for your chicks to eat!"
"Okay, one thing's agreed upon: we can't hurt the pheasants." Seeing his sincere expression, Su Tang reluctantly nodded.
It's just plucking a few feathers; it shouldn't have any impact on the pheasant. Anyway, the weather isn't cold now, so there's no need to worry about the pheasant getting cold. Its feathers will grow back in a while.
"By the way, where do you hunt? I heard from Wolf Nini that you might be able to find clay in the mountains to the north. If you're going there, I'd like to go with you..."
Su Tang remembered the matter of finding clay. Although she wasn't in a hurry to use the pot, she needed to hurry up with making pottery.
Wooden tableware is usable, but it's unprocessed, and the hygiene here is poor, so it can't be used for too long.
“Sure, I was just thinking of hunting somewhere else, so I’ll go to the mountain you mentioned.” Su Jianyuan agreed without hesitation.
Without waiting for Su Tang to speak again, he excitedly went to pluck the chicken feathers.
Looking at his cheerful back, Su Tang felt a pang of doubt.
Why does she feel like she's been tricked?
evening.
Su Tang was about to go to the Gray Wolf Tribe to find Wolf Nini to exchange milk when she bumped into Wolf Qi and Wolf Nini who had come to her door.
Wolf Qi carried a bathtub much larger than himself on his shoulder, walking behind Wolf Nini.
"Wolf Nini, what brings you here too?"
Su Tang saw the two of them and quickly went to greet them.
Upon seeing Su Tang, Lang Nini smiled and explained:
“I saw that Lang Qi was coming over, so I brought the milk over at the same time, so you don’t have to go and get it.”
Su Tang took the milk and led the two to the tree next to the thatched shed.
Wolf Qi couldn't wait to put the bathtub down, even more impatient than Su Tang, the person inspecting the goods.
"A-Tang, I've made what you wanted. What do you think? Are there any problems?"
“Okay.” Su Tang nodded and looked at the bathtub and squat toilet that Lang Qi had brought.
All four items were made according to her requirements; apart from the workmanship not being very meticulous, there were no other problems.
"Okay, no problem." Su Tang expressed her satisfaction, went back to get ten apples, put them in the basket she had woven earlier, and handed them to Lang Qi.
"Um, do you still have...?"
Wolf Qi chuckled as he took the apple, about to say something more, when Wolf Nini behind him suddenly interrupted him.
"A-Tang, we'll head back now. Thank you for entrusting these matters to Lang Qi. I'll bring you the breast milk from now on, so you don't need to go to the Gray Wolf Tribe anymore."
After Lang Nini finished speaking, she didn't give Lang Qi a chance to speak, and pulled him around to walk back.
It was as if they were afraid that Lang Qi would say another word.
Before Su Tang could say anything, the two had already left.
"Hey! Nini, why are you pulling me away so quickly? I haven't finished talking yet..."
After the two walked away, Lang Qi pulled away from Lang Nini's hand and frowned.
Wolf Nini also stopped and looked at Wolf Qi with a serious expression:
"Didn't you promise me last time that you wouldn't look for Atang after you finished making the stone pot? Why didn't you tell me you were making these things?"
If she hadn't seen what Lang Qi had left outside today, she almost wouldn't have known.
Wolf Qi paused, and seeing that Wolf Nini seemed genuinely angry, he quickly put on a smile and coaxed her:
"I was afraid you'd be upset. I didn't mean to. It's just that yesterday, after I delivered the things, Atang was very satisfied and begged me to help polish the stones, so I reluctantly agreed."
"Is it true?" Wolf Nini asked hesitantly.
