Su Tang tried to discuss it with her mother:
"Mom, can you feed me?"
Before she could finish speaking, Lin Xia refused with a smile, "No way, whoever's child it is, they should feed them."
Su Tang turned to look at Su Jianyuan.
The latter quickly shoved the leaf containing the milk into Su Tang's hand and jumped back a good distance, saying, "Sister, I can't do this kind of thing, don't look at me!"
It wasn't that he was unwilling, but that he was afraid he might accidentally crush those little brats to death.
Helpless, Su Tang had no choice but to carry the leaves back to the thatched hut.
The thatched hut has been repaired and is now completely dark inside, with only the dim, yellowish sunset streaming in through the entrance. It is clean and tidy inside, with a thick layer of leaves on the ground so it won't be too hard to sleep on.
There was a round grass nest on the ground, and the cubs were lying inside, blowing snot bubbles.
Each cub even had a green grass collar around its neck.
Su Tang could tell at a glance that it was her mother's handiwork.
Her lips twitched slightly. As expected of her mother, she still had the mood to do these things at a time like this.
Perhaps attracted by the aroma of food, the cubs twitched their wet noses and, before even opening their eyes, began to wriggle and whimper towards Su Tang.
Startled, Su Tang quickly put the leaves on the ground.
The leaves are pinched together at one overlapping corner to form a concave shape, which is needed to hold the milk.
Su Tang stretched out her hand, tilted her head back in disgust, and waited for the cub to come and drink the milk on its own.
The little ones were very helpful; they climbed up to the leaves in no time, and then... plunged headfirst into the milk.
Some were licking their heads while soaking in the milk, some were burying their heads in it as if they were drowning, and others couldn't squeeze in and were anxiously calling out from the outside.
Su Tang: "..." Help!
Seeing this terrible scene, Su Tang felt like she was suffocating.
This was even harder to accept than the moment she discovered she had traveled through time!
Su Tang took a deep breath, found a small stick, and tied the leaves together.
Then, with a look of disgust, she reached out and used her index finger and thumb to lift the kittens by the scruff of their necks, placing them on clean leaves near the entrance of the shed to stop them from continuing their milk bath.
The once fluffy down was now wet, making the cub look even smaller.
The last kitten was eating with great relish. When Su Tang picked it up, it was still engrossed in licking the milk from its mouth. After licking it all with its pink little tongue, it even chewed the air a few times.
Su Tang: Besides being stupid, she's just plain stupid.
With a dark expression, she used leaves to make small spoons and fed the cubs little by little.
The breast milk wasn't much, and it was all gone in no time.
The five kittens, still not satisfied, took turns licking the remaining milk off their bodies.
Su Tang: "..."
Great, saves her the trouble of drying them.
Su Tang then carried the clean cub into the round grass nest her mother had made. The cub, which had just eaten, was so sleepy that it fell asleep in no time.
Su Tang breathed a sigh of relief.
Raising a baby is such a grueling job!
As evening fell, the sunset painted half the sky crimson.
Su Jianyuan had already started a fire by rubbing sticks together and built a bonfire outside the thatched hut. He surrounded it with stones to prevent sparks from hitting the hut and causing a fire.
When Su Tang came out, her family was sitting around the fire.
There were also several basins made of leaves, filled with clear river water.
A broken bowl sat on the campfire, the crackling of sparks and the bubbling of boiling water creating a unique and heartwarming atmosphere.
After a long day of hard work on empty stomachs, everyone was starving. Su Tang quickly carried Xiao Fu on her back and took out the remaining six apples from the farm space.
Xiao Fu simply assumed that they had just picked these in the woods and didn't think much of it.
Su Guodong, however, holding the big apple, stared wide-eyed in amazement:
"Honey, did you grow these on your farm? I've never seen such big apples before. If they were from where I live, they'd be on the front page of the news!"
"I need to save some apple seeds to do some research..."
Lin Xia pressed an apple into his mouth, looking disgusted. "In this desolate wilderness, by the time you figure out how to grow it, our whole family will be lining up to be reincarnated in the underworld!"
"Girl, this apple is so sweet." Su Jianyuan had already started eating it in big bites, wolfing it down.
Su Shiwei carefully cut the apple into thin strips for Su Tang and arranged them neatly on the clean leaves. "Tangtang, eat up, you've been hungry all day."
"Thank you, brother."
Su Tang picked up the sliced apple and started eating.
These apples are sweet, juicy, and satisfying.
Even so, Su Tang ate a full half of it before stopping.
This is the equivalent of five regular large apples!
She couldn't help but sigh inwardly, "As expected of an orc, their appetite is much greater than before."
Xiao Fu sat there blankly, holding a big apple, as if she had lost her soul, staring unblinkingly at the harmonious family in front of her.
Does he have food to eat?
Do people still sleep in thatched huts that are draft-free and dark?
My brother can still conjure up precious flames, and my sister no longer eats alone. Although my mother still scolds my father as before, she has become much gentler and kinder to my sister and me...
Xiao Fu felt this was even more unreal than a dream.
He was suddenly incredibly grateful that Lang Qing had stopped him today, otherwise he might have lost all of this.
"Xiao Fu, why aren't you eating? Don't you like this?" Lin Xia asked with concern when she saw Xiao Fu standing there motionless.
No! I'll eat it, I like to eat it!
