Wolf Kui scratched his head, looking puzzled. "Why call a perfectly good fruit 'mouse'? What a strange name..."
Su Jianyuan looked at Su Tang. This girl doesn't seem to be a time traveler!
What kind of time traveler would react like this to sweet potatoes? This is just plain primitive!
He had met Xu Zhengqiao before. Although he spoke in a pretentious manner, he couldn't possibly be that convincing.
Su Tang frowned slightly. If Lang Kui really was Xu Zhengqiao, he might not be sure of his own identity. But Lang Kui didn't react at all to what she just said, which showed that he didn't know any of this.
Is she really overthinking things?
"A-Tang, wait here for me for a moment, I'll go back and get the fruit for you."
Lang Kui didn't think much of it and turned around to go back to get the fruit.
"Okay." Su Tang nodded, but as he turned to walk back, she suddenly called out, "Xu Zhengqiao!"
Lang Kui's figure did not pause at all, and he continued to walk forward.
Su Tang already knew the answer in her heart; she had indeed been overthinking things.
It seems that Lang Kui's recent strange behavior is only for Ah Tang, and nothing else.
Her whole family is good-looking. Her skin is as white as snow, just like the fur of her animal form. Her appearance combines the best features of her father and mother, and she is charming with a touch of beauty.
Coupled with her stunning figure, it's hard not to be attracted to males.
If it weren't for A Tang's parents and three brothers, a whole family of vampires, there would be quite a few males in the Gray Wolf tribe who would want to pursue A Tang.
In the end, only Wolf Kui persevered.
Su Tang had recently heard about Lang Kui's obsession with A Tang, so it wasn't surprising that Lang Kui had reacted so extremely recently.
"Lang Kui," Su Tang called out to him.
"What's wrong, Tang?" Lang Kui turned around and asked with a puzzled look.
"My brother doesn't want to eat anymore. Thanks, we'll head back now." After saying that, Su Tang picked up her basket and left with Su Jianyuan and Da Qing.
Since Lang Kui is not Xu Zhengqiao, Su Tang cannot give him the apples and corn either.
Little Fu, who was at home feeling utterly hopeless as her five kittens licked her ears and bit her hair, was unaware that Su Tang had given her another personality trait: a love for fruit.
Lang Kui stared blankly at the backs of Su Tang and the other two, his face full of confusion. "Xiao Fu didn't come again. How does A Tang know that Xiao Fu doesn't want to eat?"
Naturally, no one answered him.
After leaving the cave where the male lived, Su Tang went to Wolf Nini's house.
Since she was already here today, she planned to stop by Wolf Nini's place to change her breast milk, so that Wolf Nini wouldn't have to deliver it herself. She had heard that Wolf Nini's three cubs were quite timid lately and needed her to watch over them all the time, otherwise they would cause trouble.
Little did they know that the three of them had only gone halfway when they encountered Wolf Nini, who had come out to visit.
"Ah Tang, what brings you here? I was just about to look for you!" Seeing Su Tang arrive, Lang Nini walked up to her with a big smile.
She was holding two basins, one large and one small, stacked together.
Seeing this, Su Tang told her about returning the prey to the tribe that day, but omitted anything else that she shouldn't have mentioned.
"That's perfect, you can take it back directly, I won't go over." Lang Nini smiled, and seeing that Su Tang had arrived, she handed her the stone basin.
"By the way, Wolf Kui recently discovered a kind of fruit. The chieftain led the orcs to dig up quite a few, and each female got some. I also gave you a few."
The fruit was only distributed last night, and she thought she would bring some for Su Tang to try today.
After all, Su Tang had traded so many fruits with her and helped her a lot.
She always felt that even if helping someone was a small favor for them, she should still be grateful.
After hearing what Lang Nini said, Su Tang looked down.
Sure enough, there were several sweet potatoes in the large basin outside.
There are seven in total, three large and four small. The small ones are only the size of a baby's fist, and the larger ones are not much better, just a bit longer, but only as thick as three or four fingers.
Even though the sweet potato was dried out beyond recognition, Su Tang still recognized it.
"Thank you, then I won't be polite." Su Tang was just thinking about how to get sweet potatoes and see if she could grow them on the farm when Wolf Nini brought them over.
Because she didn't want to have any further involvement with Lang Kui, she didn't switch with him just now.
She stopped being coy and, taking advantage of the leaves covering her basket, put several more apples into it before handing it to Wolf Nini.
Wolf Nini took the basket and exclaimed in surprise, "So heavy? There's too much of this today!"
She brought the fruit as a gift for Su Tang, not intending to exchange it.
She knew perfectly well that these fruits were so small and far inferior to those from Su Tang.
Su Tang just smiled and said, "I picked too many today. They'll go bad if I can't finish them. My younger brother likes to eat fresh fruit he's never tried before. If you have any more next time, could you bring me some to try?"
Wolf Nini readily accepted this.
The two of them gave and received gifts, and their relationship grew closer. Neither of them felt that they had been taken advantage of. If they felt bad, they would make it up to each other next time.
Su Jianyuan and Da Qing weren't interested in what the females were talking about; while the two were talking, they went to wait on the side.
Wolf Nini glanced at Big Green not far away, recalled the rumors she had heard today, and asked in a low voice:
"A-Tang, I heard that Da-Qing isn't your partner. What's going on? Then who is your real partner...?"
“He is indeed not my cub’s father.” Su Tang had no idea who the cub’s real father was, so she could only give a vague explanation.
“I don’t know where the cub’s father went. The situation in the forest was too complicated at the time. I only brought back the cub, and I can’t remember anything else.”
It was quite an accident that Daqing was able to find us, after all, there aren't many orcs as persistent and simple-minded as Daqing.
Su Tang thought that the cub's father had most likely died in the forest, otherwise how come Da Qing had come looking for him but there was still no trace of him?
In that case, what happened in the forest is just a matter of her word.
Upon hearing this, Wolf Nini looked distressed and said, "I know the forest is so dangerous. It's already very kind of you to bring the cubs back."
If Ah Tang says that, she must have some bad memories of the cub's father in the forest.
It must be incredibly difficult for a female to survive in the forest for two months while pregnant with her cubs.
I heard that when Atang came back, the cubs were all on the verge of death, and Atang herself was covered in blood. Atang must have suffered a lot. I didn't want to talk about it, so I didn't ask anymore.
Looking at Lang Nini's "I understand! I understand everything!" expression, Su Tang felt that this girl's imagination was a bit too wild.
Never mind, just don't ask.
After exchanging pleasantries for a while, Wolf Nini suddenly remembered something.
"By the way, Tang, the rainy season is just over a month away. The chief is planning to send orcs out to exchange for white stones. Do you want to exchange some too?"
