Chapter 112 A Perfect Match (1/2)

"Ahem, well, Sheng Yi-ge, if I told you right now I'm not hungry, would you believe me?"

Sheng Yi chuckled and pointed to her stomach.

"Little liar, it's more honest than you."

Zhu Qinghao blushed slightly, wanting to refute, but for a moment she didn't know how to refute, so she could only awkwardly change the subject.

"Yes, or how about we have noodles again? Or maybe we can stir-fry some vegetables and have some steamed buns? We still have some steamed buns at home, they'll be perfect after steaming them."

Sheng Yi pondered for a moment before replying:

"Let's have noodles instead. Something with soup will keep you warm and help you sleep better. I'll make you some stir-fried shredded pork, and then we'll have shredded pork noodles? We happen to have some fresh meat today."

Upon hearing this suggestion, Zhu Qinghao immediately became interested.

"Okay, okay, is there anything else we need besides meat? I'll go find out if there's anything we can use as a side dish."

"Sure, or do you still have the same kind of chili peppers as the ones used for the stir-fried beef the other day? If not, some potatoes will do too. We can make minced meat and potato cubes, which are just as delicious with noodles..."

"Yes, yes, please wait a moment, I'll go get them right away!"

After Zhu Qinghao finished speaking, she ran quickly to the cellar, grabbed a basket, and nimbly filled it with some of the things Sheng Yi had mentioned.

Sheng Yi looked at the basket she brought up, which was filled to the brim, and gently tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"You took both? Do you want to eat both?"

After asking the question, before Zhu Qinghao could respond, he continued:

“Okay, I’ll make a little extra. You can take it over for Grandpa Zhu and the others to try. You can keep some for yourself so you don’t have to eat egg noodles pitifully in the future.”

Zhu Qinghao had the same idea, and quickly nodded in agreement, as if Sheng Yi would take back what he said if she hesitated even a little.

"Okay, I'll make them all. But actually, egg noodles are alright. I haven't had them in a long time, and they taste pretty good when I eat them occasionally."

Sheng Yi nodded in agreement with her words, as if he were doing so seriously.

"Okay, why not? At least you didn't cook yourself some plain noodles, I should be thanking my lucky stars."

After saying that, he turned his head and glanced at Zhu Qinghao, his eyes filled with deep helplessness and doting, but Zhu Qinghao, who was busy arranging the chili peppers, did not notice.

Before long, a large bowl of stir-fried green peppers with shredded pork and minced pork with diced potatoes, both delicious and visually appealing, was ready. Meanwhile, Zhu Qinghao had already cooked noodles for two people on the small stove.

The moment she tasted it, Zhu Qinghao had to admit that Sheng Yi's disdain for her egg noodles was justified; indeed, there is no harm without comparison.

Even she herself, after eating the green pepper and shredded pork noodles that Sheng Yi made, felt that the egg noodles she had cooked earlier were rather bland and tasteless.

Perhaps Sheng Yi's cooking was too delicious, because after finishing one bowl, Zhu Qinghao actually added a little more, intending to mix it with another dish.

"Don't overeat, or you won't be able to sleep comfortably at night."

Sheng Yi's pleasant voice rang out, causing Zhu Qinghao to pause in her action of scooping minced meat and diced potatoes onto the noodles.

But she only paused for a moment before stubbornly continuing.

"No, no, I'm not full. Look, I only have a little bit of noodles. I just want to try a bite because I feel like it might not taste as good after it's reheated tomorrow. So I want to try it while it's still fresh."

As if afraid Sheng Yi wouldn't believe her, she showed him the small amount of noodles in the bowl.

Sheng Yi sighed and rubbed his forehead in exasperation.

"I'm not stopping you from eating. I'm just worried that you might feel uncomfortable if you eat too much. If you feel it's okay to eat, then you can eat as much as you want."
