Every time he turned around, he would see two heads huddled together, either covering their mouths and giggling or whispering to each other. He smiled helplessly, then turned back to continue with his own business.
Even after he finished making breakfast, the two of them continued their gossip.
This time, even if Sheng Yi didn't want to interrupt, there was nothing he could do.
"Alright, Comrade Si Tian, stop chatting and get your bowl ready. Help me taste this new flavor from this morning and see how it is?"
"Okay, okay, I'm coming, I'm coming."
The two of them were quite cooperative, responding immediately to the sound, as if the intense conversation they had just been having was just Sheng Yi's illusion.
This morning, Sheng Yi used the lamb he bought to make a spicy noodle dish, which looked very appetizing.
Zhu Qinghao and Si Tian were amazed after just one bite. The mutton was sliced very thinly, soaked up the broth, and was prepared very well, without any gamey or dry taste.
Paired with a bowl of lamb bone soup that Sheng Yi simmered on a small stove, it was an absolute delight.
"Dr. Jiang's skills are truly amazing. Just for that, I'd be willing to let you win Hao Hao over. Just don't forget to reward me with a bite to eat when you do, I don't eat much and I can bring my own food."
Zhu Qinghao and Sheng Yi exchanged a glance, and both of them burst out laughing at this foodie's mind.
She had initially thought Sheng Yi wouldn't pay any attention to Si Tian, but to her surprise, he put down his chopsticks and said to Si Tian in a serious tone:
"In that case, Comrade Si Tian, you must be too embarrassed to refuse my next request?"
Si Tian paused in her act of stuffing noodles into her mouth, a mouthful of noodles hanging there, leaving her unsure whether to swallow or spit it out.
In the end, she bit off the noodle, swallowed the portion in her mouth, put down her chopsticks, and looked back at Sheng Yi.
"As expected, you're beholden to someone who pays your bills. Just tell me what you're doing. I'll do my best to help with anything I can do."
Sheng Yi couldn't help but chuckle at her nervous expression.
"Don't worry, you can definitely do it. There's no need to act like you're facing a major crisis."
"I'll be leaving in a couple of days, and I was wondering if you could take care of Hao Hao for me. Whenever I come back and cook something delicious, if Hao Hao is willing to share, you'll get a portion, okay?"
Si Tian looked at him with some surprise, then at Zhu Qinghao, and only after confirming that he had finished stating his request did she voice her question.
"That's it? You really don't have any other requests? It seems like I've been asking for food far too easily?"
Sheng Yi thought for a moment and then added a sentence.
"Then, should I ask you to spend more time with her?"
Si Tian was quite surprised. How was this request different from the previous ones?
That's it?
Sheng Yi shook his head calmly. "That's all."
Si Tian felt somewhat incredulous and looked at Zhu Qinghao, but the latter kept her head down and didn't look at any of them at all.
Zhu Qinghao had no idea that Sheng Yi would bring this up at the dinner table. She was a grown woman; why would she need someone to take care of her?
However, since she had agreed to Sheng Yi's request to accept his kindness, she had no reason to refute his foresight.
Besides, Sheng Yi's girlfriend is Si Tian, and the two of them see each other all the time, so it doesn't matter whether he takes care of her or not.
However, the fact that Sheng Yi said these things to Si Tian in front of her still made her feel a little ashamed, and she wished she could dig a hole in the ground and crawl into it.
