Chapter 161 Zhao Cheng's Decision (1/2)

Zhao Cheng subconsciously glanced at the young girl at the front desk, afraid that she would give herself away, but he saw that she was pretending not to hear the conversation between the two and was hunched over writing and drawing something.

Instantly, he felt a great sense of relief.

"Director Yang, so you came here specifically to see me? Oh dear, I'm so sorry."

I'm a bit of a drinker. After drinking, I felt dizzy and lightheaded, so I thought I'd go outside and get some fresh air to see if it would help. And sure enough, I feel much better now.

"I wonder what Director Yang wants to see me about? Shall we talk when we get back?"

The man called Director Yang snorted coldly, said nothing, and simply walked to the front desk, stood behind the young girl, and watched her write and draw.

The girl quickly noticed him, glanced up at him, but ignored him and continued writing.

Director Yang's expression turned ugly for a moment, but he quickly put on a fake smile.

"What does this say?"

The girl knew he was asking her a question, so she didn't even look up.

"Oh, this is the article I'm going to submit to the newspaper. I've loved writing these kinds of things since I was a child, so I like to write whenever I have free time."

"Sir, are you interested too? Would you like me to recommend a newspaper? Their editor-in-chief is excellent."

As the receptionist spoke, she handed him what she had written and made a gesture as if she were to tear off a piece of paper to write down his contact information.

Faced with the girl's sincere eyes, Director Yang's lips twitched a few times, forcing out a rather ugly smile.

"No need, whatever you like is fine, haha."

Then, with a dark expression, he went upstairs, not forgetting to call Zhao Cheng before leaving.

"Let's go, Section Chief Zhao, it's late, we should rest."

Zhao Cheng followed as instructed, but in his mind he was calculating when they would make their move against him.

Needless to say, he's definitely safe tonight. After all, he still has to cooperate with his boss to put on a good show in front of others tomorrow; that matter can't be done without him.

Having figured this out, he felt reassured and boldly followed along.

Sure enough, after calling him upstairs, the man simply locked him in the house, gave him a few instructions, told him not to wander off, and then went back to his own room.

After all the noise outside subsided, Zhao Cheng tried to open the door again, only to find that it was locked.

However, this was within his expectations, so he wasn't in a particular hurry.

He couldn't help but wonder if Yan Yu would be able to find out the whereabouts of the Zhu family, and he was also worried that he wouldn't be able to get the address from the young lady at the front desk the next morning.

After all, according to custom, the guesthouse front desk is divided into two shifts. The young girl is here tonight, but she will most likely not be here tomorrow morning when he is able to go out.

How will he find this little girl then? Or will she try to find a way to give him the item?

Thinking about these things, Zhao Cheng was basically unable to fall asleep all night.

Just as he was wondering if he should find a way to get out of the house, he heard a noise outside the door.

When he heard the noise, he paused for a moment, his heart leaping into his throat.

I couldn't help but wonder, could it be that they couldn't hold back any longer and really wanted to get rid of me tonight?

Just as he was wondering how likely this was, the commotion outside disappeared, and his door only shook slightly.

Then, by the light of the still-burning candle in the room, he saw a note being slipped in from outside the door.
