Chapter 186 Earnest Anticipation (2/2)

Eleven years have passed in the blink of an eye.

Wang Ergou was the most enthusiastic participant among the team members who were sprouting beans. He was assigned the task of sprouting 20 jin (10 catties) of beans as soon as he arrived.

Moreover, he did a very good job, all of which were up to standard. Whenever he had any questions, he would quickly go and ask someone. He was busy with all sorts of things, and after a few days, he finally saw results.

He originally thought he would be lucky to earn a few more work points, but he never expected that the team would give them all the money for this year. How could this not be a huge surprise for him?

So he didn't even listen to the captain's last words before he was the first to stand up and support him.

Everyone was initially hesitant, but after hearing what Wang Ergou said, they naturally felt embarrassed not to follow along.

"Yes, Captain, Er Gouzi is right. We're not the kind of greedy people who know what's good for us."

"Yes, we know..."

Today was originally just a preventative measure, but unexpectedly, because of Wang Ergou's words, the effect was surprisingly good.

Seeing that everyone had given such a response, Wang Fulin felt much relieved. The organizers collected the qualified bean sprouts and told everyone to go back and wait for news.

They loaded the bean sprouts onto the tractor, preparing to deliver the first batch of goods to various units in the city.

They didn't expect that none of them would rush home. Instead, they spontaneously took shovels, hoes, and other tools and followed the tractor to help them clear the snow from the road.

The brigade leader and a group of brigade cadres, who were originally sitting on the tractor carrying shovels, couldn't help but tear up.

"Everyone, go back. We've brought our tools. If we can't move anywhere, we can clear it. There are so many people in the truck!"

This time, Wang Ergou was leading the charge again.

He was wearing a thin cotton coat that someone had given him after wearing it out, and his lips, cracked from the cold, revealed a set of bright white teeth.

"It's alright, Captain. We don't have anything to do at home anyway, so why don't we come along and see if we can help? Plus, it'll keep us warm!"

“That’s right, that’s right. We also want to contribute to the team’s side business. We don’t want work points, but the team leader can let us follow along. What if we need them?”

There were more than a dozen people following under the vehicle. Wang Fulin looked at the tractor and realized there was no room left for them.

However, he understood that everyone didn't want any mishaps to occur on the way to delivery of this batch of bean sprouts.

Therefore, it's not appropriate to send these people back; they can only stay with us.

At the same time, he made up his mind that he must not let these people down and must do this side business well so that poor families like Wang Ergou in the team can live a good life.

Wang Fulin wasn't the only one on the bus with this idea; the accountant, Zhishu, and even Zhao Cheng, who was traveling with them, shared the same thought.

Because they could see the earnest expectations in the eyes of the people, and their yearning for a better future, no one had the heart to let their efforts go to waste.

With everyone's escort, the tractor successfully drove onto the main road leading to the city.

The villagers stopped seeing them off here because there were cars and people walking on the main road, and the snow accumulation was minimal, hardly affecting the tractor's movement.

"Captain, Comrade Zhao, you can go with peace of mind. If it snows later, we'll come back to pick you up!"
