She would be more inclined to believe that the child was born to her, but she would never believe that the old lady across the street had given birth to such a young child.
Thinking of this, she decided to test the waters with a question:
"Auntie, is this your child?"
The old woman's grip on the child tightened for a moment, then she turned away as if nothing had happened, seemingly not wanting Zhu Qinghao to see the child's face.
"Oh yes, hehehe, she's being good, she's asleep now."
Zhu Qinghao became suspicious and never went down again. She certainly didn't believe her current explanation, but wondered if the child had been given some kind of drug.
"Sir, are you going home or somewhere else?"
The man wasn't on guard and was about to answer:
"Ah, we..."
"We're going to Kyoto! We're going to Kyoto to visit our relatives, don't you think so, old man?"
As the old woman interrupted his answer, she quickly winked at him and glanced at Zhu Qinghao.
The old man instantly understood and quickly changed his words:
"Oh right, we're going to Kyoto to visit relatives, hehe."
The old woman was relieved, then turned to look at Zhu Qinghao with a hint of reproach:
"Your memory is terrible. I told you I was going to Kyoto too after you went there, but you forgot in the blink of an eye."
But I can understand you young people, you're just forgetful, so your elders at home are definitely worried about you going out alone.
"But luckily, you're lucky to have run into me and your uncle. Just stick with us, you definitely won't get lost."
Zhu Qing smiled, said nothing, and continued to sit there with her eyes closed in deep thought, which others would have thought was her resting.
In reality, she was thinking about how to get these two people, who seemed to be human traffickers, investigated.
Fortunately, it wasn't long before it was time for dinner again.
"Grandpa/Grandma, I'm going to use the restroom and then go to the dining car for a meal. But I still have my things here. Could you please keep an eye on them for me?"
The old woman immediately tensed up when she saw Zhu Qinghao stand up, as if she was afraid that Zhu Qinghao would run away.
But the next second, when she heard her say that the things were still there and asked them to watch over them, she felt relieved and sat down again.
"Oh, go ahead, go ahead. I promise I'll take good care of your things, including your seat. When you come back, I'll make sure nothing is missing!"
Zhu Qing smiled and thanked him before quickly leaving the carriage.
As she walked, she kept a careful eye out, afraid that the old man would catch up with her.
In the end, even after confirming that neither of them had caught up, she was still not completely at ease.
After all, there are so many people on this bus. Who can be sure that there aren't any other accomplices besides them?
Observing along the way, Zhu Qinghao pinched her nose and went into the restroom. She then used the space to look outside and, after confirming that no one was watching her, she came out of the restroom and headed straight for the dining car.
After entering the dining car, she began to focus on looking for uniformed police officers, but she couldn't find any after searching around.
Just as she was frowning in thought, someone called out to her.
"Comrade, the dining car is where you eat. What are you looking for? Do you need our help?"
The man who asked the question had sharp features and was dressed in a black cadre uniform. He was tall and straight, but there was no sense of stiffness in him. His bangs moved slightly but did not look messy.
Zhu Qinghao turned around and immediately sensed that the two people looking at her were people of high status, most likely plainclothes train police officers.
