Chapter 27 A Game of Three (2/2)

In most cases, isn't it usually a man and a woman? And the vast majority of them would say they are "dating"?

How come I ran into a three-person gathering today, and one of them was even claiming he didn't know the other two? So, did the three of them end up together or not?

The two groups looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

Left with no other option, the police had to call out from outside the door, telling the two people inside to get dressed and come out.

Lu Rou kept crying and calling out to Liu Yansong, but the latter remained silent with a sullen face, seemingly lost in thought.

Seeing this, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and endure the pain in her lower abdomen, quickly get dressed, and leave the house.

She knew that the most important thing now was to sever ties with the other man; otherwise, even if she died in pain, Liu Yansong probably wouldn't care.

Once all three parties involved had arrived, the committee members and the police were all eager to get started.

"Everyone's here. Let's talk. He says he doesn't know you, but do you know him?"

Liu Yansong looked at the middle-aged man the policeman was pointing at with a gloomy face, but he couldn't see anything unusual on his face.

So he could only shake his head with a cold face and without saying a word.

Lu Rou sobbed softly, also stubbornly denying that she knew him.

"Officer, I really don't know him. I've never seen him before. I have no idea how he ended up in my house. I... I'm so confused, I can't explain myself even if I jump into the Yellow River..."

Lu Rou always knew how to make herself look weaker and more innocent. She didn't scream hysterically, but just bit her lip tightly, her face full of humiliation and determination.

The police officers who came to handle the case were relatively young, and they seemed to be on the verge of being persuaded.

However, the old fox leading the committee was, after all, a deputy director, and not so easily fooled.

He squinted as he looked back and forth between the three of them, making Lu Rou feel flustered, afraid that he would notice something.

The middle-aged man, however, was not afraid. He looked at the police officers and spoke earnestly:

"Officers, have you seen this? I really don't know these two people. I don't know who is trying to frame me like this. They're trying to kill me! I have a family and a career. Please help me find out who's behind this and clear my name!"

The deputy director of the committee scoffed, then laughed dismissively.

"Framed you? Then tell me, what is there about you that would make someone want to frame you, and who are the suspects?"

As soon as he said that, all the Red Guards in the group burst into laughter, without any attempt to hide it.

The scene before her made Lu Rou clench her fists tightly.

The middle-aged man glanced at them, walked up to the deputy director, and whispered something in his ear.

Before long, the deputy director's expression changed several times, and he forced a smile:

"This...it's a misunderstanding, it must be a misunderstanding. Some clueless person probably tried to play a joke and accidentally hurt you. You see..."

As soon as the words were spoken, the committee members immediately performed a "smile disappearing act".

What's going on here?

"I don't need to see it. Just give me an explanation. You can handle the rest yourselves. I'm leaving now."

The deputy director breathed a huge sigh of relief and smiled ingratiatingly.

"Okay, okay, take care. Don't worry, we will definitely find out the truth and give you an explanation."

Seeing this, everyone present, including Lu Rou, felt a little confused. How could there be such a misunderstanding?

The crowd looked at each other, and finally their gazes fell on the only person present who might know the truth, the deputy director of the committee.
