Chapter 35 Renting a Room (1/2)

The captain waved his hand dismissively:

"Don't worry about that. You've already paid the rent, so the house is yours for the rest of the lease term. I'm not shameless enough to rent the same house multiple times."

Zhu Qinghao and Si Tian smiled upon hearing this, and at the same time felt relieved.

Zhu Qinghao was unsure of Si Tian's thoughts, but Si Tian decided to stay there for as long as she intended, and that was how long she would rent the apartment.

Before she could even speak, she heard Si Tian already talking.

"Captain, I'm planning to rent this house long-term. How much is the rent? Will it be paid annually or something?"

"Long-term lease? You mean even if the old place becomes vacant or new houses are built, you don't plan to move back?"

"Yes, I like it here, so I'll stay here and not move. That should be okay, right?"

The captain's expression changed from surprise to delight. Long-term rentals are great! Doesn't this mean the team will have another stable source of rental income? And these two don't seem to be short of money, so they probably won't be late on rent payments.

"Yes, yes, absolutely. So, what about Zhu Zhiqing?"

"Captain, I'm also planning to rent long-term."

Zhu Qinghao's answer deepened the captain's joy, and he nodded repeatedly.

"Okay, the rent is three yuan a month, right? This is what our brigade cadres discussed before. You can pay annually, quarterly, or semi-annually."

If we pay annually, I can give you a discount of two dollars. What do you think?

Perhaps because the rent was cheap in the village, Zhu Qinghao and Si Tian agreed immediately and decided to pay the rent annually.

If it weren't for the fear of being too high-profile, Zhu Qinghao would really like to pay for five or six years at once.

Fortunately, the team leader promised that as long as the two of them didn't terminate the lease, he wouldn't rent the house to anyone else, otherwise she really wouldn't feel at ease.

After agreeing on the rent and paying, Zhu Qinghao casually pointed to a small courtyard not far away and asked:

"Captain, whose house is that?"

The captain was busy counting money. He glanced at it briefly, then lowered his head to continue counting, casually remarking in between:

"Oh, that's the cowshed. A new family has moved in recently. They're not bad people, but the situation is a bit complicated. You should stay away from there if you don't want to, there might be someone watching you from the shadows."

"I see, okay, Captain."

After counting the money, and seeing that both men had listened to his instructions, the captain prepared to leave.

"Okay, you two choose your rooms and get settled in first. I'll go back and draft a rental contract, then I'll bring it over for you two to sign. We'll stick to the original terms."

Zhu Qinghao and Si Tian agreed with this view, so naturally they all agreed.

When choosing a house, Si Tian took the initiative to choose the one closer to the main road, while the other one was convenient for going to the cowshed.

Zhu Qinghao couldn't help but have a moment of doubt. This little girl shouldn't be that smart, right?

But then I thought it was probably just a coincidence.

And so, she "exploded" and naturally moved into the small courtyard she had always wanted to choose.

When the captain returned with the contract, the two men were tidying up in their respective rooms.
