Chapter 54 Caught in the Act (1/2)

Two days later, when Zhu Qing woke up, she discovered that the temperature had dropped significantly overnight, and a thick layer of snow had accumulated outside.

The thought that her family must have endured an incredibly difficult night while she slept soundly in her warm bed, completely unaware of what had happened, filled her with panic and guilt.

Seeing the white layer of snow on the roof of the cowshed, she didn't care about anything else and used her spatial ability to run to the cowshed before it was fully light.

The room where the Zhu family slept originally didn't have a kang (heated brick bed). The brigade leader had been looking for someone to build one these past two days, hoping that the people inside would be able to sleep on a kang before the heavy snow came. However, they didn't expect the temperature to drop so quickly.

Zhu Qinghao rushed to the cowshed as fast as she could and started knocking on the door without even thinking. She was only thinking about confirming the safety of her family and even forgot that she could use her spatial ability to enter the cowshed directly.

Unfortunately, Zhu Yanzhi arrived later than usual, which made her already uneasy mood even more flustered.

Just as she was getting anxious and preparing to break down the door, the person inside slowly opened it.

"Okay? What brings you here at this hour?"

Zhu Yanzhi was surprised by her arrival. As he spoke, he stepped aside to let her in.

Then he peeked out and looked around to make sure he didn't see anyone unusual before closing the door tightly again.

After entering the house, Zhu Qinghao didn't even wait for Zhu Yanzhi and went straight to the inner room where the others were.

There used to be only one room here, but after they arrived, the brigade leader probably thought it would be inconvenient for the whole family, young and old, to squeeze together.

So they had someone make a partition in the middle of that big room so that the men could live on the outside and the women on the inside.

As Zhu Qing passed the outer room, she glanced around to make sure everyone was alright, then quickly greeted them before hurrying into the inner room.

She wasn't particularly worried about Zhu Qingyun and Zhen Zhu, but mainly about Wen Chuyi, who was pregnant, and Jiang He, who was older.

Zhu Qinghao breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that all of them were sitting neatly in bed and in good spirits.

"Thank goodness, thank goodness, you're all alright. It's my fault for sleeping too soundly; I should have noticed last night, especially with this sudden drop in temperature..."

Upon hearing Zhu Qinghao's murmur, Zhen Zhu immediately understood what was going on.

So she lifted the covers, got up, walked over to Zhu Qinghao, took her hand, touched it to make sure it was warm, and then put it down.

"You child, why are you in such a hurry? We're all grown up, don't we know how to take care of ourselves?"

You shouldn't shoulder everything yourself every day. You're just a little older than me; your parents should be taking care of you.

But you not only take good care of yourself, you also work very hard to take good care of such a large family.

So my Haohao is already the best little girl. Listen to Mommy, don't put so much pressure on yourself, okay?

Zhen Zhu's words made Zhu Qinghao, who was still blaming herself, suddenly feel wronged. It seemed like there was nothing to be wronged about, but she just wanted to cry.

Seeing her daughter's vulnerability, Zhenzhu pulled her over and gently hugged her.

“You are really great. Your parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle are all very proud of you.”

People grow up gradually, step by step. You're still young, and your parents aren't old yet, so you don't need to be so anxious, okay?

With tears streaming down her face, Zhu Qinghao threw herself into Zhen Zhu's arms, nodding and shaking her head repeatedly.

Zhenzhu found it somewhat amusing to sense her movements.
