Chapter 94 Offering Me Food (2/2)

Old Master Sheng had been sitting there waiting for a long time. When he saw that he had finally returned, he snorted in annoyance.

"You brat, where have you been all afternoon? I haven't seen you anywhere. You didn't even tell me you were going out. I think you think I'm a burden and want to starve me to death as soon as possible!"

Sheng Bojian threw a tantrum again, but this time Sheng Yi didn't play along and still had a smiling face.

"I'm out on important business, of course. Come and try this. I brought you braised pork and stir-fried beef. It's delicious. Want to guess where it came from?"

"Oh? There's beef too. That old man is in for a treat today. Go and get the wine that Qing girl gave us the other day. With such hearty dishes, how can we not have a few sips? Hurry up and go."

Sheng Yi usually didn't allow him to drink, but today he was in a good mood, and the dishes he brought back were indeed suitable to be paired with a little wine, so he readily went into the house to get them for him and poured him a glass of wine.

Grandpa Sheng was astonished by his self-awareness.

"Huh? You seem to be in a good mood today? You're actually quite enlightened?"

Seeing the uncontrollable smile on Sheng Yi's face, he seemed to understand something all of a sudden, and a glint of light flashed in his eyes.

"You went to see Qing? Did she invite you to stay for dinner?"

Sheng Yi nodded with a smug smile.

"Yes, she asked me to bring these dishes back for you. How about it? Aren't you happy, old man?"

Sheng Bojian's smile widened, and he nodded repeatedly in approval, but his expression changed the next second.

"However, you should be careful, and even try to go less often in the future. You two are both grown up now, not like when you were little."

Some people in the team have quite the mouths; you might just walk away and leave, while they're left to face all the gossip and rumors.

Sheng Yi knew that the old man was right, so he didn't refute him.

"Yes, I was paying attention, so I stayed a little longer to clean up the kitchen before coming back. I didn't run into anyone on the way back."

Sheng Bojian felt much more relieved after hearing what he said.

Then he eagerly put a bite of beef in his mouth and sipped his wine.

As he ate, he seemed to remember something, looked up at Sheng Yi, and had a serious expression on his face.

"Boy, have you developed feelings for Qing?"

Sheng Yi glanced at him lightly, said nothing, and thought to himself, what does it mean to have feelings for someone?

Sheng Bojian wasn't annoyed that he didn't answer, and continued speaking.

"You've seen the current situation of the Zhu family. The burden of the whole family rests almost entirely on Qing'er's shoulders. She must be under a lot of pressure. Don't go and cause them any more trouble."

Moreover, most of her previous marriages were unsuccessful, and this girl may have suffered a lot in the process. If you are not sincere, don't provoke her.

The Zhu family and she are now too fragile to withstand any further trouble.

Sheng Yi was aware of these things, and he had thought about them himself, so when Grandpa Sheng spoke, he suppressed the smile on his face.

"I know, Grandpa, I won't cause her any trouble."

"Besides, I was there today because he asked me to stay and teach her how to cook. Otherwise, who will teach her after I leave?"

Grandpa Sheng remained noncommittal, simply sitting there eating his side dishes, drinking his wine, and occasionally taking a bite of rice.

Sheng Yi was so annoyed by their leisurely demeanor that he simply stopped looking and went back to his room.
