Chapter 116: A flurry of actions as fierce as a tiger, only to find oneself stuck in the same place in the end.

Rong Zi was a little puzzled. She walked towards him with Gu Xiaochui and Yun Jing, then stood behind him and asked loudly, "Why are you back again?"

Could it be that he has changed his mind and is planning to become her disciple?

Upon hearing Rong Zi's voice, Ling Mo paused for a moment and turned to look at her with a puzzled expression.

Then he asked a question that left all three of them speechless.

What are you doing here?

The three of them: "...?!"

Gu Xiaochui looked at Ling Mo with a strange expression and said, "This is our sect. Where else would we be?"

Ling Mo was taken aback, "Sect?"

“That’s right.” Yun Jing echoed, pointing to their sect, hidden in a forest not far away. “Look, isn’t it right here?”

Ling Mo looked in the direction he was pointing.

He frowned. "It does look somewhat familiar. Could it be that I've come back again?"

The three of them: "...??!"

You don't know whether you've come back or not?

Ling Mo carefully observed his surroundings, then clasped his hands in a fist salute to the three of them, saying, "Sorry to bother you, I'll be leaving now."

After saying that, he turned and quickly left.

Rong Zi looked in the direction he left, and called out to him hesitantly.

"Wait a minute."

Ling Mo stopped and looked at her. "What's wrong?"

Rong Zi's expression was somewhat subtle as she raised her hand and pointed in a direction for him.

“You’re going the wrong way. You need to go in that direction, otherwise there’s no path. The direction you’re going only leads to cliffs and mountains.”

Didn't Ling Mo tell him the right direction when he left?

Ling Mo turned around, lowered her eyes, and thanked him.

"Okay, thank you."

After thanking him, he walked in the direction Rong Zi had pointed.

His steps were steady, his back view resolute.

Rong Zi, Gu Xiaochui, and Yun Jing looked at Ling Mo's departing figure, exchanging strange glances.

"Could Ling Mo be... lost?" Gu Xiaochui asked uncertainly.

Yun Jing replied, "Probably not? The road out of our sect doesn't have many turns, and you only need to follow one road to the end to get out of our sect's protective formation and onto the main road outside. It's such a simple road that even a child like me can walk it. He's so big, how could he possibly get lost?"

Gu Xiaochui thought for a moment and nodded in agreement, "That's true, maybe I'm overthinking it."

The two didn't dwell on the matter and instead asked Rong Zi.

"Master, should we go back first?"

Rong Zi looked in the direction Ling Mo had left, and after thinking for a while, she narrowed her eyes and shook her head.

"Let's not go back yet, let's wait here for a while."

As he spoke, Rong Zi walked to a piece of broken wood by the roadside and bent down to sit on it.

Yun Jing and Gu Xiaochui looked at her in confusion, "Wait? Wait for what?"

Rong Zi raised an eyebrow. "You'll find out soon enough."

...

Five minutes later.

Gu Xiaochui and Yun Jing were completely dumbfounded when they saw Ling Mo reappear in front of them.

Ling Mo looked at them with a complicated expression.

He opened his lips and tried to ask a question.

"I'm back again?"

Rong Zi and his two disciples: "..."

Ling Mo was stumped, his brows furrowed in confusion. He muttered to himself, "This shouldn't be happening. I've been heading in the right direction the whole time. How could I have gone astray?"

"No, I must leave today!" His face darkened slightly as he bid farewell to Rong Zi and his two disciples once more. "Farewell, gentlemen."

Rong Zi watched the direction he left in, her lips twitched slightly, and then she patiently called him back.

"Wait a minute."

After Ling Mo looked over, she raised her hand and pointed him in the correct direction again.

"there."

Ling Mo's expression was somewhat awkward.

Thank you.

After quickly thanking him, he hurried away.

Rong Zi and his two disciples watched as his figure disappeared from sight again. Then, the three of them looked at each other and remained silent for a long while.

Finally, Yun Jing whispered, "He seems... to really be lost."

Gu Xiaochui's face was full of disbelief.

"But how did he manage to get lost on such a short distance?"

Leaving their sect is really easy.

Anyone with a modicum of common sense wouldn't be stumped by a single path, right?

Rong Zi sat on the broken log, resting her chin on her hand listlessly, and asked curiously, "Do you think he will come back later?"

Gu Xiaochui and Yun Jing exchanged a glance and shook their heads.

"have no idea."

If Ling Mo can win her back every time, that's quite an achievement.

This time, about ten minutes passed.

Rong Zi and his two disciples looked up and met Ling Mo's eyes as he emerged from a corner in another direction.

For a moment, the scene was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

This time, Ling Mo didn't say a word.

Perhaps because he was embarrassed, his handsome face turned red, his lips were tightly pursed, and he turned and left.

Rong Zi didn't stop him, but slowly said something to his back.

"That's outrageous."

Ling Mo: "..."

He lowered his head, turned around, and left so fast that he was almost just a blur.

"He actually managed to win her back." Gu Xiaochui gave Ling Mo a thumbs-up in the direction he left, full of admiration. "What a talent!"

...

Fifteen minutes later.
