It was still dark when the eight men were bound with the Immortal Binding Rope.
The snow continued to fall heavily from the sky, quickly piling up a small patch of snow on her shoulders and head.
Azhuo moved the Immortal Binding Rope around his body and realized once again that the eight of them were being played by a teenager.
A teenage girl, yet she managed to defeat eight strong men all by herself.
Azhuo looked at Sheng Ning with a hint of admiration in her eyes.
"Boss, look what that is!"
Sheng Ning's initial idea was to find an open space so that the pig-worm could continue absorbing the Azure Dragon's inheritance and grow into an adult.
Later, eight men came to her room. Adhering to the principle that it would be a fool not to take advantage of them, she first played the eight men around before releasing the worm again.
The pig-like insect, which was originally only the size of her arm and was pitch black with a bluish glow, had grown considerably in size during the time that Sheng Ning had stuffed it into her consciousness space.
Perhaps because the space of consciousness was too oppressive, the pig-like insect that had just been released roared to the sky, its dragon-like cry almost piercing the heavens.
Azhu stared blankly at the scene before him.
His entire body was bound by the Immortal Binding Rope, leaving only his hands, which he could barely clench into fists.
The pain of his fingernails digging into the soft flesh of his palm brought him to his senses.
He blinked hard and spoke in a trembling voice to the man beside him, "Dragon! It's the Azure Dragon, boss!"
"This little girl's spirit pet isn't a jiao (a type of dragon), it's a qinglong (a type of azure dragon)!"
Most cultivators are already considered lucky to have even one spirit pet in their lifetime.
In a trading town as large as Saluo City, no one has seen a mythical beast in the last few hundred years.
Who would have thought that Sheng Ning's spirit pet wasn't a jiao (a type of dragon), but a divine beast, the Azure Dragon!
Azhuo's scream was so loud that it woke up his companion who was also tied up with him.
So, a group of big men, covered in dust and dirt from the bombing, sat in the snow.
Upon seeing the azure dragon, its entire body radiating golden light, not far away, it immediately widened its eyes again.
The scene became quite comical at one point.
After releasing the piglet from his consciousness space, Sheng Ning no longer cared about A Zhuo and his group.
She stepped forward and looked at the little green dragon that had been born in her hands, which was only half the length of her arm, and had now grown into a huge creature.
Seeing its furrowed brow, she stepped forward and placed her pale hand on its forehead. "My dear, are you in pain?"
Mythical beasts all have inheritances, but accepting an inheritance is an extremely long and arduous process.
When Sheng Ning saw that it didn't answer and was making soft whimpering noises, she knew that it was in extreme pain.
The worm had already signed a master-servant contract with her when it first hatched.
Although she couldn't feel exactly how much pain the pig-worm was in, the feelings of the human and the dragon were connected.
Even though Sheng Ning knew how to refine pills, she was not a true pill refiner and did not know how to make diagnoses.
But she couldn't just stand by and watch the pig-worm suffer, so after sensing the pig-worm's discomfort, she activated her spiritual root, and in the blink of an eye, a blue spiritual power surged from her palm.
Water can be both strong and gentle; it can kill, but it can also heal.
Sheng Ning blinked as she sent water-based spiritual energy into the pig-like insect's body and clearly felt the discomfort in her heart lessen considerably.
"Will this make you feel a little more comfortable, my sweetheart? Don't be afraid, Mommy will always be by your side."
Her gentle words were a stark contrast to her arrogant demeanor when she fought Ah Zhuo earlier.
The expressions on the faces of Azhuo and the other eight people gradually changed from initial surprise to numbness.
"So we should have investigated back then. Although this person was just a disciple of a small sect, I also heard that the sect that won first place in last year's sect competition was a small sect."
With A-Zhuo taking the lead, the other men also remembered this matter.
"I almost forgot, even the Taixu Sect didn't make it into the top three. I heard that the small sect that won first place got quite a few points."
"Could it be that this little girl took it? How old is she?!"
Someone exclaimed in surprise, and everyone's eyes fell on Sheng Ning's back.
Even though they knew Sheng Ning was young beforehand, when they actually checked his bone age, they found that he was only 16 years old.
And that was when he was still a Nascent Soul Level 6 cultivator.
The eight grown men immediately wore expressions of utter despair.
"A 16-year-old cultivator, still at the sixth level of the Nascent Soul stage."
"Others only have spirit pets by their side, but she's different; she's raising a divine beast at such a young age."
"I noticed it earlier; that ball of will-o'-the-wisp in her hand must also have some kind of consciousness."
"Not only that, she's a cultivator with five elemental roots and can even create clones..."
After Azhuo finished speaking, an eerie silence fell over the surroundings.
Even the leader frowned and glanced at Sheng Ning after hearing the chatter among his underlings.
His eyes were just too complex for anyone to decipher.
Perhaps the noise of the eight men talking all at once was too loud, and Sheng Ning paused in her actions of soothing Zhuerchong.
Suddenly, with a flick of her finger, the snowflakes that had been piled on the ground were quickly rolled into snowballs and then thrown at the eight men.
"Please be quiet and don't disturb my little darling's absorption of the inheritance."
Azhuo and his eight companions: ......
Absorbing the Azure Dragon's legacy took an afternoon and a night.
The pig-like insect, which had been lying on the snow and had now transformed into a towering dragon, finally slowly opened its eyes.
"Mother?"
Golden eyes blinked, and when the rough voice rang in Sheng Ning's ears, the latter almost collapsed to the ground.
