Chapter 28 Reunion

Before He Jiuniang could speak, the young doctor next to her said, "Of course it hurts to scrape away the necrotic flesh, since it can't be done in a short time."

To put it simply, it's better to have a short, sharp pain than a long, drawn-out one.

Zhang Yong steeled his heart, closed his eyes, and said, "Then... Third Sister-in-law, you...you do it!"

He's a grown man, after all; he can't appear too weak in front of so many people, or his son will laugh at him later.

But... he wasn't sure if he'd faint if he got hit...

There was no follow-up. He Jiuniang made her move as soon as he finished speaking, and Zhang Yong fell straight down.

Luckily, the young doctor was nearby and reached out to help, otherwise he would have bumped his head.

This time, it wasn't her own husband who got beaten up, so Lu Guilan finally had the mind to watch the show. She didn't even see how He Jiuniang made her move before the man collapsed. She was shocked and exclaimed, "Third sister-in-law, how did you train? You're amazing!"

Madam Shen nodded repeatedly. Although it was her husband who was beaten this time, her elder brother was fine just now, and her husband's injuries were less severe than her elder brother's, so it was even less of a problem. She then held her son and watched the excitement intently.

On the other side, the elderly couple, Mrs. Sun, were so excited to see their eldest grandson suddenly appear before them that they were speechless. Unlike He Jiu Niang, Mrs. Sun hugged Xiao Hu Zi tightly and asked, "Where are your parents? Why are you all alone? Have you seen your second uncle and the others?"

Xiao Huzi was quite clever. He didn't panic when faced with Sun's series of questions. After thinking for a moment, he answered, "Dad and my sister are sick. My third aunt and mother took them to the clinic. My third aunt asked me to come and tell my maternal grandparents that everything is alright. I didn't see my second uncle and the others."

Upon hearing this, Madam Sun knew it was He Jiu Niang who had found their family, and she felt relieved. She hugged Xiao Hu Zi and tears streamed down her face: "Good child, you've become so thin from hunger. How much suffering have you endured? Are your grandparents alright?"

Little Tiger's lips trembled, and tears welled up in his eyes: "Grandpa and Grandma are gone, sob sob sob..."

Old Lu was also saddened. Seeing the old man and the little boy hugging each other and crying, he silently wiped away his own tears, then came over and patted his little grandson's head, saying, "Come on, take us to find your parents."

Now that we know where my daughter's family is, there's no reason for us to keep standing here waiting. We should go check on them first; who knows how serious their illness is?

There were still a few people waiting at the camp, but Old Man Lu didn't want them to come along, so he said, "You all wait here. If my family comes back, they'll meet us. We'll be right back."

The Liu sisters were about to follow, but upon hearing this, they could only obediently nod. They only hoped to settle down in Anzhou safely with the Lu family and dared not cause any more trouble.

After making the arrangements, the elderly couple took their grandchildren to the clinic.

They hadn't gone far when the elderly couple ran into their second son and his wife, who were returning home. The second son was about to say that he hadn't found his sister's family when he saw Sun holding Xiao Huzi's hand, and his eyes lit up.

"Little Tiger came here on his own?"

The second son stepped forward and picked up Xiaohuzi, saying with emotion, "You've lost a lot of weight! But as long as you're alright, that's all that matters. Your second uncle will definitely help you recover!"

Qin seemed to have something on her mind. She smiled when she saw Xiao Huzi, but didn't say anything and quietly followed behind.

The second son glanced at her, unsure of what to say, and simply carried Little Tiger ahead.

The elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Sun, were so focused on their daughter's family that they failed to notice anything unusual about Ms. Qin.

The whole family, including the children, walked slowly. When they arrived at the clinic, Zhang Yong had already been knocked unconscious for the second time, and He Jiuniang was stitching up his wounds.

Sun leaned over for a look, but she couldn't bear to look at the bloody mess for long. Before she could even say a word to her daughter, she asked, "Why is the third son's wife doing this? And why is she using needle and thread?"

Shen was the first to see them. She calmly called out to them and then explained, "Third Sister-in-law said that stitching the wound this way will help it heal faster!"

The moment Lu Guilan saw her parents, her vision blurred with tears, and she couldn't speak at all. When she did, her voice was choked with sobs: "Father, Mother, you've finally come, sob sob sob..."

Not to be outdone, Mrs. Sun and her daughter embraced and wept bitterly, "My daughter, my poor, woeful daughter..."

He Jiuniang could understand their joy at having suffered and reunited. Although she found the noise in her ears annoying, she did not show any disgust. She calmly finished stitching up Zhang Yong's wound, made room for the old doctor, and then looked at the mother and daughter who were still crying and said, "Don't cry. It's hot in this weather, and it's easy to get dehydrated. If you keep crying like this, it will be terrible."

Upon hearing this, the two immediately began wiping away their tears. He Jiuniang was right; water was precious now, and so were tears!

Even so, after wiping away her tears, Madam Sun still slapped He Jiu Niang: "Annoying!"

They were crying peacefully, why did you have to ruin the mood!

He Jiuniang knew she had a sharp tongue, so she didn't take it to heart. She smiled and followed the doctor to get the medicine, and then paid for it.

Seeing this, Lu Guilan and Shen were extremely grateful, but He Jiuniang waved her hand and said, "We're all family, sister, you don't need to be like this."

Seeing how sensible He Jiu Niang was, Madam Sun felt relieved and comforted her daughter, saying, "Yes, she is your sister-in-law, so it's not a big deal if she treats you well. But you must remember this kindness and not be an ingrate."

"Mother, I know."

Lu Guilan nodded repeatedly, she would definitely remember this kindness.

The group did not leave immediately, but waited in the clinic for Zhang Song and his brother to wake up before heading back to the camp at the city gate.

Zhang Songgang was still unaware of anything when he woke up, but seeing this family reassured him, and he let his wife and brother-in-law help him walk.

Zhang Yong is in better condition; he can walk with his wife's help.

Although it was a bit of a mess, everyone had a smile on their face. As long as the family is reunited, even the biggest difficulties can be overcome.

The eldest brother and his men who bought the grain had already returned. They rushed forward to greet them upon seeing their return, and were heartbroken to see their sister's family in such a sorry state.

Lu Guilan was about to burst into tears again, but remembering what He Jiuniang had said, she quickly forced back her tears and put on a forced smile that was really creepy.

"It's good that we're reunited! It's good that we're reunited! Now, we can spend the night here and set off for Anzhou tomorrow!"

Lu Laoda was in a good mood and led a group of people to find firewood to cook for the women.

This time, the purchase of grain cost a lot of money. Boss Lu also took the initiative to lend some grain to the newly found clansmen. The grain was distributed to them so that they could find a way to fill their own stomachs instead of having to squeeze their whole family together to eat.

The clansmen were all deeply grateful and obeyed their every word.

While Yu and Qin were cooking, He Jiuniang would go to Lu Laoda to record the amount of grain that had been lent out, to make sure there were no mistakes.

With her daughter's family found, Sun's heart was at ease, and she soon noticed that something was wrong with Qin.
