Chapter 108 New Year

Sigourney came back at the end of the year.

A few days after he returned to the wizard tower, it was the last day of the year.

Three people in the wizard tower.

Meng plunged into the library and almost made it his home. He was obsessed with deciphering ancient books. Even when he ate every day, he was in a trance. His mind was floating in the long river of history. He never returned to reality. He probably didn't even know that the New Year was coming. Not to mention, Meng had been wandering outside for many years. When others were celebrating the New Year, he might still be running on the line between life and death. He had no concept of the New Year.

And Sigourney... Sigourney welcomes the New Year, can you imagine?

So only Ash started to prepare excitedly. He didn't know how everyone in Ilufu celebrated the New Year, so he decorated the New Year just like he did in Duogu Village.

The first thing he did was to change the decoration inside the wizard tower, using bright warm-toned items for decoration. This step was not easy, as he could not go out to purchase them, so he could only use local materials. However, the items left by Rachel were all pitch black, which made him feel ominous, and he could not use them directly.

He thought about it and went to find Sigourney.

"I want red, gold, and green dyes."

He ignored Sigourney's cold expression and kept clinging to her like a little tail, causing the alchemist who had been planning to watch him work coldly to compromise with gritted teeth and help him make bright red and green dyes that were totally inconsistent with his aesthetic taste.

With the dye, Ash successfully created a warm little living room for the New Year's Eve.

Next comes food preparation.

The wizard tower has enough food stored in it.

Early that morning, Ash started working in the kitchen. He had no talent for cooking, but he had intuition. Although the taste of the same dish was different every time, it was also delicious. This was also a skill.

Everything was ready. The last and most difficult step was to bring the other two guys from the Wizard Tower who had no expectations for the New Year to the dinner table, so that everyone could spend the last moments of the year with laughter and joy.

However, Ash didn't think it was difficult for others.

He went to find Meng first.

"Everything is ready, Uncle Meng." He stood beside Meng and told her about the preparations he had made for today one by one. His light blue eyes were as clear and tolerant as the sky. "Just spend today happily with me and Sigourney."

Heard in the gentle voice of the young man, the spirit that had been wandering in ancient times finally returned to reality.

today?

Is there anything special today?

Meng suddenly recalled the figure jumping up and down decorating the wizard tower that he had unconsciously seen these past few days...it seemed like it was New Year's Day?

His eyes turned and fell on the bookshelf beside him, where Ash had placed a puppet doll at some point.

The original cursed doll with hollow eyes and sharp teeth was transformed by Ash into a doll wearing beautiful little clothes, grinning and laughing happily, all in bright red. No wonder he always felt something was wrong when he was reading here today.

New Year... He stared at the unrecognizable cursed doll, and a faint warmth suddenly rose in his heart, followed by a faint feeling of shame and embarrassment.

I really don't act like an elder.

He actually let Ash run around for these days to prepare, and not only do I get to sit back and enjoy the results, but Ash even had to come and invite me personally?

How big is your face?

"Let's go." He put down the book in his hand and walked out neatly. "I'm stuck on a piece of ancient text. Relax a little. Maybe I can find a new idea."

Meng rarely put his collection of books behind him. "How is the food preparation going? Shall I cook a few more dishes?"

Meng is done, and next is Sigourney.

Ash found Sigourney in his room. He was still in his pajamas and looked lazy and tired, as if he was planning to sleep through the day.

But Ash didn't think so.

In his mind, Sigourney was easier to convince than Meng.

After all, Sigourney had secretly helped him a lot when he was making preparations these days. Not to mention the dye issue, which he had pestered Sigourney to do. As for the items and props left behind by Rachel, most of them were dangerous goods. Even if he was the owner of the wizard tower, he would still be in trouble if he touched them accidentally.

But he was unharmed from beginning to end.

For example, the cursed doll placed in the library. If no one helped him secretly, he would never be able to change the clothes and draw expressions on the doll.

The only one who could do all this silently was the alchemist master Signy.

However, since Sigourney's attitude was "I'll just watch you do it on your own", Ash never pointed it out and just thought that he was blessed by good luck and nothing happened.

It doesn’t matter actually.

Sigourney was his good luck, and he was indeed secretly protected by Sigourney.

When he pushed the door open, Sigourney did not lie down, but sat on the bed flipping through a notebook - he seemed to be very interested in the history that Meng mentioned that day, and had been reading related materials recently, but he was not as obsessed as Meng.

Seeing Ash, he was not surprised, he just raised his eyebrows: "Are you convinced?"

Ash nodded.

"How did you persuade him?" Sigourney asked with interest, "Could it be that you used your authority as the owner of the wizard tower to forcibly close the library?"

Ash shook his head. "I told Uncle Meng that everything is ready." He extended his hand to Sigourney. "Let's spend today happily together."

Signe sneered, "Sly little devil."

Having said that, he still put down the notebook and got out of bed.

"Wait for me in the small living room." He knew where Ash's main room was, walked to the closet and picked out a gorgeous robe, tilted his head and said, "Do you want to watch me change clothes here?"

Ash: "..." Ash walked out of the room silently and closed the door silently.

With a blushing face, she thought, he really wants to see it.

The last day of the year.

The three people in the wizard tower met in a small living room decorated with warmth. The table was filled with delicious stews, and the aroma of the food made people salivate. Even in front of Sigourney, there was... uh, Ash's white neck leaning over.

He wordlessly pushed Ash away, "Not hungry."

Meng laughed, "Then just watch me and Ash eat."

Sigourney propped up her chin, glanced at him, and said nothing. She just picked up the spoon and chopsticks in front of her, slowly picked up the dishes, and put them on Ash's plate, indicating that he was not just "watching".

Meng: “…” He was almost full again.

After finishing their lunch while bickering with each other, Ash cleared the tableware and with a wave of his hand, displayed another achievement of his in the past few days.

A Wizarding Monopoly map adapted from the Totani Monopoly game.

The number of steps forward is determined by rolling dice, and there will be rewards, traps, and punishments along the way. Should it be said that it was thanks to Sigourney's punishment on him that day that he remembered this game and excitedly made a set by hand. Is he planning to play it today?

"You are not allowed to use your abilities to cheat." He emphasized to a black-robed wizard and a high-level vampire, "Also, you must accept defeat if you are willing to bet."

The two nodded in coordination, but soon after the game started, they forgot about this sentence.

It's simple. Ash's luck is full. If they don't cheat, they will be doomed.

In other words, isn't it what the person who uses his abilities to cheat is?

Behind a game, there are invisible storms, swords and sabers. The black-robed wizards and vampires are secretly fighting each other, causing a bloody storm.

However, the game appears peaceful and calm on the surface, full of fun.

The low-level wizard Ash Elwyn was completely unaware of the undercurrents between the two men on his left and right.

He was very happy.

Sigourney fell into almost all of the selfish traps of holding hands, hugging and lifting up.

Today only, Sigourney, who abided by the rules of the game, accepted defeat and satisfied Ash one by one.

Until the end of the game, Meng couldn't understand why the traps he fell into all required him to drink some weird potion, draw childish patterns on his face, and sing a song about the water elf baby foolishly, while the trap Sigourney fell into was so simple that it could be easily completed by just pulling Ash's hand or hugging Ash?

Is there such a huge gap between his strength and Sigourney's?

Can't understand!

The final winner of the game was of course Ash. No matter how you look at it, he was the big winner of the game, as if to compensate for his hard preparations over the past few days.

Mon and Ash cooked dinner together.

Sigourney condescended to clean up the mess in the small living room caused by their games, restoring it to its previous neatness and warmth.

After dinner, we stopped playing games.

Ash took out the Echo Stone and activated the music engraved in the stone - that was what he had prepared a few days ago. He used the wooden harmonica he brought from Duogu Village to play the cheerful and pleasant music in his memory.

Jumping notes floated out from the echo stone and echoed in the brightly lit small living room.

"Dancing?" Ash looked at Sigourney and Meng and smiled. "Where I used to live, everyone would sing and dance to welcome the new year."

As he spoke, he took Sigourney's hand and danced casually and happily to the notes of the music under the bright light of the living room, as if they were back in Duogu Village, where everyone was dancing enthusiastically around a blazing bonfire, laughing and talking.

Sigourney looked at his face with his eyes slightly closed and a faint smile, but did not push him away.

They started dancing in the small living room, and did not forget Meng, and soon dragged Meng into the makeshift dance floor.

Meng was clumsy, and his agility in the ruins seemed like a thing from the past. Ash smiled and led him to dance, and soon pushed him to Sigourney's side and asked Sigourney to dance with him.

Sigourney exuded a sense of disgust all over her body, but after glancing at the two shallow dimples on Ash's cheeks, she still raised her eyebrows, and while attacking Meng's legs and feet, which were as stiff as Nance, with her venomous tongue, she gradually guided Meng to relax in the music.

The melodious music played over and over again. The three people who were dancing on the dance floor, no matter whether their steps were immature or elegant, reserved or free, unconsciously had smiles on their faces, relaxed and happy smiles.

Hey, Happy New Year.

The three people in the wizard tower spent the last day of the year happily.
