Chapter 11 Collar

Ash was on his way back to the village quickly when he heard the emotionless voice.

When the light from the black ship fell on the village, he could not see the red flames, but only heard a deafening roar, and even the ground beneath his feet seemed to tremble with the roar.

The village was attacked?

Is anyone injured?

With such a big commotion, perhaps it’s more than just an injury?

Could it be that someone was already in the loud noise just now...

"Ash!" Derek appeared in his field of vision from a distance, and as if he knew he would be worried, he shouted, "Don't panic! Everyone in the village is fine!"

Ash felt relieved and stumbled a bit, but he didn't slow down. He quickly rushed to the entrance of the village and stopped next to Derek.

"I just heard..." He gasped slightly.

"It's okay." Derek looked up at the black ship, "They attacked the open space."

Ash followed his gaze and saw two people jumping down from the black boat, falling towards them from the sky like two floating dandelions.

There were no ropes or other auxiliary tools, it just floated in the air and fell lightly.

Derek and Ash saw each other and took a shallow breath.

This is magic, this is a wizard!

How incredible!

Under Fann's organization, the villagers gradually gathered at the entrance of the village.

When everyone was panicking, frightened and at a loss, Vann's calmness and composure naturally became the backbone that everyone subconsciously relied on.

Then again, if people didn’t trust Vann, they wouldn’t have elected him as village chief a few years ago.

At a time when you are unable to think for yourself, entrusting the decision to someone you trust is the best choice that everyone makes subconsciously.

Now walking out and seeing the two people floating down from the sky, I was so shocked that I even had the thought, "Fortunately I listened to the village chief and did as the black ship asked."

In the eyes of ordinary villagers, everything they saw today was almost close to the realm of God, and they could not challenge such an existence.

Isn't it just becoming the other party's subject?

Will there be any changes in life after becoming a subject of the other party? Their village is neither poor nor rich, what can the other party get from their village? No matter how you think about it, there is no treasure worth thinking about in their village.

Thinking of this, the emotions of most villagers eased a little.

They watched as the two messengers from the Black Ship fell to the ground.

They were two young men, one tall and handsome, the other equally thin and plain-looking. Both wore black waisted robes with a badge on their left chests.

The badge has a black background with a burning flame pattern on it.

Ash immediately thought of the "Red Throne" they had mentioned earlier.

"Oh?" The handsome one looked at the villagers with interest. "It's rare. This is the first quiet village along the way. That's good. It saves a lot of trouble." After saying that, he raised his hand and waved casually at the black ship.

After a while, the black ship slowly changed direction, just like when it came, like a ghost, it drifted away in the blink of an eye.

Without the black ship's obstruction, the sun shines down again, but people can no longer feel its warmth.

"Let me introduce myself again." Facing the gazes of the crowd, the handsome man smiled calmly, "My name is Phil, and he is Benedict. We are from the Third Army of Lord Knapton. Lord Knapton is the master of the Ninth Wizard Tower under the Red Throne - we will explain these common sense to you in detail later. Now let's get down to business."

He swept his hands across the flat ground, and a flat table and a high chair appeared in their place.

The tables and chairs that appeared out of nowhere surprised the villagers again.

"Line up." Feier sat down on the high chair calmly, "Come one by one."

Benedict also walked up to him and looked at everyone.

He had a smile on his face, and his ordinary appearance made people feel very friendly: "Don't worry. The Broken River Plain where you are has been disconnected from the outside world for too long. Now the two continents are connected. We come to obtain resources, and at the same time we will bring you more advanced civilization. We each take what we need. You just need to know that your future life will be better than it is now."

"More delicious food, more gorgeous clothes, a better environment!" He raised his arms, his voice full of temptation, "Healthier body, more powerful strength, longer life - you will also become people like us, master the mysteries of this world, control the rules of this world, and even be omnipotent!"

What beautiful words, they are so heart-warming to hear.

Especially with the black ship in front, he was really good at playing with a whip in one hand and candy in the other.

Fann sneered secretly. If they were promised such a good prospect, what should their ordinary village give in exchange?

The forces represented by the black ships are definitely not generous philanthropists.

He walked out of the crowd and towards the two people.

"Identity registration", these people have been emphasizing this, so let them take a look at what the mystery is.

Since he led the villagers out, he had the responsibility to be the first to try it.

But before he could walk over, a tall and thin boy was already standing in front of the two wizards.

"Ash!"

There were several exclamations from the crowd, especially from Aubrey, who shouted particularly loudly. If his father had not grabbed his arm tightly, he would have rushed over to pull Ash back.

Derek stared at the empty side. When did this kid sneak past on his own initiative? I didn't notice him at all!

"Ash, let me go first." Vann walked quickly to Ash and held his shoulders. "The kid goes to the end of the line. Be obedient."

Ash shook his head and looked at the handsome man named Fair, "I was there first."

Feier stared into his eyes for a while, then smiled: "Okay, you go first."

He turned his palm upwards, and a red metal bracelet appeared in his hand.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"Ash Elwyn."

"Ash Alwyn?" Feyre repeated his words, his fingers brushing across the smooth surface of the bracelet. A row of neat letters appeared one by one under his fingertips and were clearly engraved on the bracelet. It was Ash's name.

"Stretch out your hand." He gestured to Ash. "You can use your left or right hand. But once you put it on, you can't take it off. You have to decide which hand you want to use."

As Vann listened, his face changed. In those larger towns, he had seen people putting collars on pets such as cats and dogs, and leg rings on birds... What was the difference between the significance of this bracelet and those collars and leg rings?

Is this what is called "identity registration"?

In order to save your life, you have to wear a demeaning bracelet?

After putting on the bracelet, can I still be myself?

Vane's thoughts were racing, but at this moment, he heard Ash's voice again.

"Will you hurt us after wearing this?" the boy asked seriously.

"No." Fell raised the corners of his lips strangely, "You are very, very precious magic... Ahem, all wizards will treat you with great care. Of course, the premise is that you don't make any mistakes."

"After I put it on, can I also learn magic, like you guys?"

"Oh? You've heard about magic, too?" Fair's odd smile still lingered on the corners of his lips. "Yes, you can learn it, too."

As if he knew what Ash was planning, he said in a coaxing tone, "If one day, your strength exceeds that of Lord Knapton, you can take the Ninth Wizard Tower from him. His territory will be your territory, and his subjects will be your subjects. Duogu Village will naturally be in your hands, and you can do whatever you want with it."

"Fell!" Benedict raised his voice in disapproval. "How can you make up stories about Lord Knapton?"

Fel smiled and spread his hands: "Hey, don't be so serious, Benny! I'm just talking, how could this country kid have such ability?"

Ash looked at Fair steadily. Although Fair spoke lightly, as if he was just teasing him, he felt that Fair was telling the truth.

As long as he has that ability, he can replace Knapton and take back Duogu Village.

He pursed his lips and smiled faintly. Teacher Nathan was right, "You are all still young, and the future has infinite possibilities."

He held out his left hand toward Fair.

Author's words: Ash extended his left hand toward Fair.

Fair put the ring on Ash's finger.

Phil: No, no, no, my prop is a bracelet, not a ring, okay! Author, why are you trying to hurt me? [vomiting blood] Sigourney, listen to my explanation!!!
