Chapter 16 A Step Forward

"Ash! Ash!" Nathan's pharmacy was pushed open by Aubrey in a hurry. He shouted excitedly, "I dreamed about it! I dreamed about it!"

Nathan was so startled by him that his hand shook and the small silver spoon in his hand fell on the pharmaceutical platform with a clang. Fortunately, it did not hit any fragile bottles and jars.

He subconsciously glanced at Ash next to him. Ash was still processing the herbs at a very fast speed, not affected at all, and his technique was steady and meticulous. He nodded with satisfaction, thinking that the disciple was better than the master.

"Ash! I had a dream! Lots of little red dots were surrounding me!" Aubrey stood at the door, still in high spirits.

His words immediately reminded Nathan that the culprit who had frightened him was still here.

Nathan frowned and sternly scolded: "Aubrey! You are so old! Why are you still so reckless?!"

Aubrey shrank his neck and gave Nathan a pleading smile, but his hand was secretly waving at Ash: Come here, come here, come here quickly!

The childish version of Aubrey is online again. If he doesn't go, this guy will probably harass Nathan all day long with his dark face.

Ash silently put down the knife in his hand: "Teacher, I'll go out for a while."

Nathan snorted coldly at Aubrey, then turned to Ash and said, "Go quickly and come back soon. If all else fails, go find Shanna."

Now everyone in the village knows that Shanna is the ultimate weapon to defeat Aubrey.

Ash nodded and washed his hands in the sink nearby before walking towards the anxious Aubrey.

After leaving the pharmacy and closing the door, Aubrey started to complain non-stop: "Ash, you're so slow!"

Ash pulled him into the living room, saying, "You scared Teacher Nathan. You need to apologize later."

"Got it." Aubrey responded quickly, and then became excited again, "Did you hear what I just said? I had the kind of dream you described, with many red, warm dots surrounding me!"

Ash said "Oh" to indicate that he heard it.

"Is this what it means to sense the free elements?" Aubrey looked at Ash with sparkling eyes, "I also have wizard talent, right?"

Ash nodded.

When they went out of the village with Derek to check, they also heard the following news: not everyone can become a wizard, one must have certain talents. There are specific ways to test talents, but a simpler way to judge is to empty your mind and meditate to see if you can perceive the free elements and rules of the natural world.

Ash actually had only a vague understanding of what elements were and how to meditate... He only listened to a few fragments of what was said. After returning to the village, he was pulled over by his friends and repeatedly asked for explanations, which was also a forced task.

Connecting this to himself, the dark space and flowing light that he dreamed of every night - even if the stone tower disappeared, the dream continued - seemed to fit these descriptions quite well, so Ash told his friends that they should just dream.

If you dream of something like starlight, which is abstract but you feel that it is a living and conscious being, then you are perceiving the elements and rules.

It is also a very mysterious explanation.

But the friends who are eager to learn magic still remember it by heart like a treasure, and they wish they could sleep from morning to night, and from night to morning, and fall into a dream and never wake up.

I didn't expect that such an unreliable explanation would actually produce a successful person.

"Ash!" Aubrey looked at him expectantly, "What should I do next? How should I practice? How can I make the black ship explode with a bang?"

Ash answered honestly, "I don't know."

If you know, he would have started learning it a long time ago.

"Hey!" Aubrey was shocked. "How could this happen?"

"There is no open teaching in the next town." Ash was also disappointed. "I heard that there is a special wizard school in Iluf. Anyone with talent can go in and study."

"It would be great if I could leave here and go to Iluf to learn magic." Aubrey was dejected, no longer excited. "If I learn magic, I will also build a ship like the Black Ship and fly it over our village every day to fight anyone who comes!"

"Teacher Nathan will beat you up," Ash said seriously, "If you block out all the sunlight, all of the teacher's herbs will die."

"Yes, yes, haha." Aubrey scratched his hair and laughed again, "Then I'll stop at the entrance of the village."

Ash also pursed his lips, revealing two shallow dimples: "Then Aubrey, I'll go back to the pharmacy first."

"Yeah." Aubrey followed him to the pharmacy, "Wait for me, I still need to apologize to Teacher Nathan."

Just at this moment, Teacher Nathan's door was once again pushed open with great force, making a loud "bang" sound.

"Aubrey, you brat!" Nathan rushed out of the pharmacy, pointing at the door and saying sternly, "Sooner or later my house will be taken over by you - eh?! Lannon!"

Standing at the door was a sturdy young man with sharp eyes and brows. He was Lannon, the current captain of the hunting team in Duogu Village who succeeded Derek.

"It's Lannon." Nathan coughed awkwardly. "What's the matter?"

Aubrey muttered in the living room, thinking he was quiet, "What a huge difference in attitude!"

Ash took out the candy that Grandma Lena gave him from his pocket, quickly peeled off the sugar coating, and when Aubrey opened his mouth to complain, he threw it into Aubrey's mouth with his backhand, with extremely precise movements.

"Um..." Aubrey bit the candy and spoke unclearly, "Lena did it alive, uh,... fruit. Good time."

Nathan glared at Aubrey. This kid was lucky to have Ash taking care of him, otherwise he would have to catch bugs in the herb garden for a month!

After being complained by Aubrey, Lannon smiled apologetically: "Uncle Nathan, I'm sorry, I was too impatient."

"It's okay." Nathan waved his hand and glanced at Aubrey. "You're not always in my house, don't worry about it. Did something happen in the village? Is anyone injured?"

"No." Lannon looked at Ash with a complicated expression, "The village chief asked me to ask Ash to go to his house. The wizard from the Radiant Throne came and said he wanted to see Ash."

"Here, here?" Aubrey stood there stiffly. So soon? Would they also be put on bracelets and "under unified management"?

"Ah, Ash!" He saw Ash take a step forward without hesitation from the corner of his eye, and he couldn't help but reach out and grab him, "Are you going?"

"Yes." Ash turned to look at Aubrey. His light blue eyes were as vast as the sky, as if he was looking at a farther and wider world. "Aubrey, I'm the same as you."

"Um?"

"I also want to learn magic and protect the village."

At Vann's home.

Yelena's conversation with Fann also came to an end.

She concluded with a generous attitude, "The bracelet is necessary for you, and we in the Radiant Throne cannot give you special treatment. You are the only one in the Broken River Plains without a bracelet, which would be too conspicuous. However, we will not use the bracelet to imprison or restrict you. It will only be a decoration to show your identity. Although we will not restrict you, we will still bring you the advanced civilization of the wizarding world, help you grow and develop, and never lag behind other towns."

"With these conditions, we can sign a magic contract, and neither party can violate it."

"These are all favorable conditions for us." Fan En sighed, "Since it is a mutual agreement, you also have corresponding conditions, right?"

Yelena smiled, and her tone was full of confidence: "We only have one condition."

"I want to take away the boy marked by the 'Scarlet Moon'," she said.

At this time, Lannon and Ash also came in.

"I'll go with you." Ash took over her words very naturally.

“…”

“…”

“…”

“——Huh?!”
