Chapter 32 The Person Outside the Window

Yelena and Ivan's personalities seem to be hot and cold, but at times like this, their reactions are surprisingly consistent, making people feel that they are indeed siblings.

They are all very emotional and soft people inside.

Ash looked back and forth at them while holding the cup, and couldn't help but laugh.

The two siblings held a silent self-reflection meeting face to face, and then prepared to tidy up the room and go to bed.

However, when they got up and walked to the bedroom door, they found that Ash had already made the bed and was standing at the door, making a "come in" gesture with a faint smile in his eyes.

"When did you?" Yelena was surprised. She hadn't noticed Ash leaving the living room before.

Ivan was also stunned: "Hey, why are you..." He knocked his forehead in annoyance, "Sorry to bother you, Ash."

"It's getting late." Ash said, "Don't we have to go to Tianping City tomorrow morning?"

That's right. Ivan smiled, and stopped worrying. He patted Yelena and said, "Good night," and then walked towards the room where Ash was.

"Brother! Wait!" Yelena hugged Ivan's arm and her voice suddenly became tense, "I remembered something!"

"What?"

"I mean..." Yelena paused, raised her hand and pointed to the living room behind them, "Brother, you can sleep on the sofa tonight!"

Ivan: "Hmm...Hmm?" He reacted and looked at Yelena suspiciously, "Why should I sleep on the sofa?"

Yelena's voice was dry: "The bed in the master bedroom is not big, it's too tight for you and Ash to sleep on it."

"I'll squeeze in with Ash." Ivan didn't care. "It's not summer yet, it's just right to be a little warmer."

Ash nodded as well, agreeing with Ivan's statement.

Yelena first stared at Ash in disbelief: Have you forgotten that you have someone in your heart? How can you lie in bed with another man! What if you catch Sigourney and he hears that you slept in the same bed tonight - do you want to kill my brother?

"..." Ash failed to understand this glimpse of her inner drama.

Then she pulled Ivan to the living room with force: "No, no! You, um... you are not a good sleeper! You kick and punch! You snore! You grind your teeth! And you have smelly feet! Do you want to keep Ash awake all night?!"

Ivan defended himself awkwardly: "My feet don't smell, Yelena..." As for whether he snored or gnashed his teeth or not, he really didn't know. But seeing that Yelena was so sure, then he probably, possibly, or perhaps really did?

Ivan fell into self-doubt.

"It's okay, I..." Ash wanted to say that he didn't care. There was a stream of light entering his dreams every night. He had a feeling that even if Ivan's snoring was like thunder, it would not wake him up.

While Yelena was pulling him, Ivan took the time to wink at Ash quickly, his gentle brown eyes smiling, showing his pampering and indulgence towards his sister. He seemed to be saying, although he didn't know why, but she insisted, so he would just do as she pleased. It wasn't a big deal anyway.

She blinked her eyes, but still showed an unwilling attitude. She was dragged by her sister's arm to the living room reluctantly.

Ash: "..." What else can he say?

There is actually a reason why Brother Ivan drank so much stomach medicine.

He silently picked up the bedding and carried it to the living room.

After all this tossing and turning before going to bed, it was already very late at night when the three of them lay down in their respective seats.

Ash almost fell down and entered the dream state.

He stood in the quiet dark space, with dazzling streams of light. From the ever-changing shapes and patterns of the light, he saw Sigourney walking towards him with a long dagger in her hand. Pure joy surged in his heart, and he smiled and happily went to meet her.

When he approached the figure made of flowing light, the light shattered and scattered with a "crash".

A strange, bloody figure appeared and disappeared in the fragments of flowing light.

Ash suddenly woke up from his dream.

What was different from before was that he could still clearly remember everything he saw in the dark space, such as Sigourney walking towards him and the bloody strange figure.

It was the first time he woke up from a dream like this.

Ash lay on his back in bed, staring at the dark ceiling in a trance. What did this mean? What was the dream trying to tell him?

As he was thinking, his sleepiness seemed to be scared away, and he was surprisingly energetic in the middle of the night.

It was at this moment that he heard the sound of someone knocking gently on the glass window.

It sounded light and dull, like knocking with thick leather gloves.

Ah, here it comes! Ash thought to himself, Huh? What's coming?

At this moment, his mind seemed to be split into two parts. On one side was the calmness that he had expected, and on the other side was the doubt about this calmness that came from nowhere - what did he expect? He himself didn't know, so why did he feel like he knew everything?

Very contradictory.

The doubtful one thought that it would be best to wake everyone up now and see what was going on.

The calm side was particularly decisive: Go open the window.

Ash: "..." He felt torn apart.

But he did not hesitate too much and followed the calmer side's idea.

The mysterious perception has helped him many times, and tonight he also wants to obey such perception once.

He got out of bed, put on his robe, and walked to the window.

It started raining outside the wizard tower at some point, and the dark clouds blocked the moon. The rain was not heavy, but fine and continuous, wetting the glass and making the image on the other side of the glass unclear.

Ash calmly opened the window, and immediately cold rain and chilly wind blew in.

There was no one outside the window, and it seemed that the sound of knocking on the window just now was Ash's illusion.

It couldn't be an illusion, Ash was sure, and identified the marks on the window: there was indeed a place on the rain-blurred glass, as if a water mark had been spread out when someone knocked on the window.

He thought about it, then leaned out and looked out the window.

——Sure enough, there was a tall figure shrouded in a cloak lying on the ground.

There was a faint smell of blood diluted in the moist water vapor.

The bloody figure in the dream must be this person, right?

What to do now?

The easiest way was to wake up Ivan and the others. After all, this man looked seriously injured, and it would be best if a wizard could help him.

But there was a voice in my heart saying that it would be better not to do that.

But if I don’t do that, will I just watch the other person get seriously injured and die?

The ups and downs of his thoughts only took a short moment. Ash pursed his lips, gently pushed the window with his hand, and jumped out lightly and silently, landing steadily next to the cloaked man.

He did not curiously peek at the appearance under the cloak. He just took a few steps back, scanned the ground for a while, found a small stone that he thought was suitable, tossed it in his hand to test his strength, then raised his head, squinted his eyes, aimed the stone at the second-floor window, and threw it over.

"Bang".

A faint sound.

It will not disturb the people on the first floor, nor will it make the people on the second floor feel nothing about it.

A perfect sound.

“Bang”, “Bang”, “Bang”, “Bang”…

Ash was like a naughty kid smashing his neighbor's window, constantly replicating the perfect sound.

Although wizards are powerful, their power lies in their knowledge and control of the rules. They can use magic to make their eyes see farther, their ears hear more clearly, and their bodies stronger. But when wizards do not use magic, their own strength is actually not as good as the elites of the Duogu Village Hunting Team.

Therefore, Ash could immediately detect the faintest knock on the window, but Brent could not wake up from his dream immediately.

Ash had no choice but to act like a naughty child until he woke Brent up.

He was going to throw this problem to Brent. After all, they knew each other, right?

The cloaked man was seriously injured and probably wanted to seek help from Brent. He knocked on Brent's window, but he didn't know that Brent had just given his bedroom to a guest tonight.

If they hadn't asked him to stay with them tonight, the cloaked man might have successfully sought help.

As the courtesy guest, Ash decided to act as a transit point to facilitate the desired outcome.

Brent was finally "woken up" by Ash.

The window on the second floor was also pushed open, and Brent looked down.

Ash looked up and waved at him, without saying anything, just pointing to the ground, motioning him to look at the fallen cloaked man.

On that rainy night, Ash couldn't see Brent's expression clearly. He just felt that the young man seemed to be stiff for a moment before he floated down from the window and carefully picked up the injured person on the ground.

He stood there, looked at Ash deeply, nodded at Ash, then picked up the person, flew lightly to the second floor, and closed the window silently.

He seemed to be in a hurry, probably anxious to heal the patient.

Ash shook the rain off his hair, climbed up the window, swiftly returned to the room and closed the window.

Brent can fly. He leaned against the window and thought, "Flying" is a third-level magic, which can be mastered by at least mid-level wizards. Unless you are like Yelena, a low-level wizard who has a flying prop.

What about Brant, who claims to be just a wizard's apprentice?

He exhaled lightly and patted his chest. His mysterious perception had helped him again tonight.

If the cloaked man was exposed in front of them, if the cloaked man died quietly because he was not discovered... Brent, who had no ill will towards them at the beginning, would probably become their most terrible enemy, right?

Ash climbed into bed and rolled around in the covers.

——Actually, he didn’t look at it on purpose.

But when he saw Brandt flying up, his eyes subconsciously followed him, and he accidentally saw a corner of the cloak.

The man under the cloak has a pair of pointed ears.

Delicate, thin, like Sigourney's, and different from human ears.

That's an elf.

A magical material.

Author's comment: Nance: Are there any stupid kids who saw the title and thought it was Sigourney's? Hahahaha, he's not an elf, he's a vampire!
