You are weird too

You are weird too

Zhu Zhi turned around and looked at him with her head tilted: "Are you a detective, not a policeman?"

Luo Yuwen nodded.

Zhu Zhi then turned to Jiang Shuiying, who was standing next to Luo Yuwen, and asked, "What about this sister? Are you also a detective?"

She looked confused, as if she didn't recognize Jiang Shuiying.

Jiang Shuiying shook her head and said, "I'm his assistant."

Zhu Zhi propped his hands on the chair and looked up at the two of them. "Why should I tell you? I've told the police everything I need to say."

"You don't have the right to ask me, do you?"

"Besides, the police already said he committed suicide. What else is there to investigate?"

"Of course," Luo Yuwen responded, "You certainly have the right to refuse, Miss Zhu."

"But I can tell you that there's something fishy about Yan Ming's death. Don't you want to know why he died?"

Unexpectedly, Zhu Zhi shrugged and said nonchalantly, "I don't love him. I'm with him because of the resources he has."

"There are so many wealthy people in the entertainment industry, one less person wouldn't be too few."

Luo Yuwen's expression was very surprised. He knew that these two people were together for profit, but he didn't expect Zhu Zhi to say it so bluntly.

After admiring Luo Yuwen's wonderful expression for a few seconds, Zhu Zhi burst out laughing.

"Pfft...Mr. Luo, you're so easy to fool...Hahahaha!"

"If I didn't want to tell you, I wouldn't have asked my agent to bring you in just now...Hahahahaha!"

The girl in front of me laughed so hard that she held her belly, without any star airs at all.

Zhu Zhi covered her stomach and asked two people to sit next to her. Jiang Shuiying looked at Luo Yuwen's face which turned red, then white, and then red again, and felt a little funny in her heart.

After Zhu Zhi had laughed enough and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, she slowly spoke:

"Okay, okay, I'll tell you. Just listen to me."

"Actually, I don't know why my sponsor suddenly died..."

From Zhu Zhi's perspective, the day Yan Ming died seemed no different from any other day. The two had originally agreed to meet on the phone, and Zhu Zhi even asked Yan Ming to order some fruit and vegetable juice for her. However, he suddenly changed the announcement at the last minute and said he was going to another city.

However, it's common for celebrities to suddenly change their schedules, so Zhu Zhi didn't think too much of it. After discussing it with Yan Ming, they decided to wait for Zhu Zhi to return before meeting again. Zhu Zhi knew Yan Ming didn't like fruit and vegetable juice, so she told Yan Ming to throw it away.

Unexpectedly, this cup of fruit and vegetable juice entered Yan Ming's stomach and took his life.

The police had questioned her before, but she was on the plane when Yan Ming died, and the notice was indeed changed at the last minute, making it impossible for her to be fabricated. The fruit and vegetable juice was delivered, and Zhu Zhi couldn't have poisoned him remotely, so the police ruled her out as a suspect.

Hearing this, Luo Yuwen couldn't help but wonder, "Yan Ming's secretary said that you used to like milk tea. Why did you suddenly start drinking fruit and vegetable juice during that time?"

"I'm trying to lose weight, but many netizens say I'm fat," Zhu Zhi said unfazed. "The fruit and vegetable juice there is freshly squeezed, without any sugar. It's healthy, delicious, and won't make you fat."

“I drank it many times.”

Jiang Shuiying and Luo Yuwen looked at each other again, and then Jiang Shuiying said, "Then Miss Zhu, can you give us the address of that store?"

"OK."

After saying that, Zhu Zhi took out his phone, opened the takeaway interface and handed it to Jiang Shuiying:

"This juice is delicious. You can try it when you go back."

Jiang Shuiying smiled and nodded to thank him, then wrote down the address and returned the phone.

Luo Yuwen watched the two people's actions without saying anything. He glanced at the address Jiang Shuiying wrote down, which was exactly the same as the one given by the secretary before, which proved that Zhu Zhi was not lying.

He hesitated for a moment, then asked Zhu Zhi the question he wanted to ask the most:

"Miss Zhu, could you please tell us about your relationship with Yan Ming?"

"Also, why do you want to be Yan Ming's lover? He's married. You know that, don't you?"

The implication is that he is asking Zhu Zhi why he should take on the responsibility of knowing three things.

After saying this, Luo Yuwen glanced at Jiang Shuiying inconspicuously, but Jiang Shuiying just looked at Zhu Zhi with a businesslike expression on her face, as if she was not Yan Ming's wife.

Luo Yuwen didn't know whether Jiang Shuiying's acting was too good or she really didn't care.

Perhaps it was because Luo Yuwen's tone was a bit tough, Zhu Zhi changed her indifferent attitude, lowered her head, twisted her fingers, and did not speak.

Jiang Shuiying spoke at the right time, her tone gentle, as if to comfort the girl who bowed her head in front of her: "Miss Zhu, our purpose is not to accuse you or anything else. We just want to know more details, which will be of great help in investigating the cause of Yan Ming's death."

"Now that things have come to an end, it's okay if you don't want to talk about it."

Jiang Shuiying's words made the other two people raise their heads. Zhu Zhi seemed to be comforted, while Luo Yuwen did not expect Jiang Shuiying to be so magnanimous.

On the other side, Zhu Zhi prepared himself mentally before speaking slowly:

"I, I knew he was married, and I knew it was not good to interfere in other people's marriages, but I had no choice at the time."

This sentence made Jiang Shuiying and Luo Yuwen frown at the same time.

"I was at the theater he invested in, and he said if I didn't agree to it, he would ban me and I would never be able to sing on stage again..."

"I really needed money at the time, and singing was the only thing I could do."

It was only through Zhu Zhi's subsequent narration that Jiang Shuiying and Luo Yuwen learned the other side of the matter.

Zhu Zhi doesn't have a high education, nor is she a music student; singing is just her hobby. While in college, she stumbled upon a bar singing gig, and was later recruited by a manager to become a minor singer in a theater. She's been working in the theater industry ever since graduation, earning a much higher salary than before, and has amassed a significant following on social media.

Just when Zhu Zhi thought her life would go on like this, Yan Ming's male secretary suddenly found her and said that Yan Ming had taken a fancy to her and offered to support her, and also promised to provide her with resources, money, and various luxury goods.

The conditions were very tempting, but Zhu Zhi refused because she knew that she could not destroy other people's marriages and she knew it was wrong.

But the next day, when Zhu Zhi was getting ready to go on stage, she was suddenly told that a new face would be replacing her. Zhu Zhi received a call from Yan Ming in the dressing room.

"He said on the phone that if I didn't agree to it, this would only be the beginning, and there would be more to come..."

"I really had no choice at the time."

These words silenced everyone present. In Luo Yuwen's impression, lovers would always do anything to gain power. He had never expected that there would be people who were coerced and bribed into becoming lovers.

Jiang Shuiying, who was standing beside her, looked a little distressed. She said softly, "What will happen after you confirm your relationship?"

"After we got together, he treated me very well. If he hadn't gotten married, he would have been a very good partner."

"He kept his word and got me signed to a music company. I did become a singer and became a bit famous."

Zhu Zhi lowered his head, his voice gradually becoming quieter: "But this relationship makes me want to vomit."

"I really didn't like him. Every minute I was with him made me want to vomit. Now that he's dead and the people at the company don't care about me so much anymore, I feel relieved."

The room then fell into a brief silence, with only the rustling sound of Jiang Shuiying recording.

But Luo Yuwen's thoughts did not stop. He felt that it was shameful for Yan Ming to treat Zhu Zhi like this, and at the same time he could not help but start to doubt - if things were really as Zhu Zhi said, then could he suspect that Zhu Zhi had hatred for Yan Ming and therefore planned to murder Yan Ming?

His eyes wandered between the two women, trying to find something, but he failed. Zhu Zhi lowered her eyes, not knowing what she was thinking, while Jiang Shuiying's face showed only distress and concern, with no other emotions visible.

Luo Yuwen thought, it seems that he has to go back to City G to check the glass of fruit and vegetable juice.

After asking some trivial questions, he and Jiang Shuiying prepared to leave, but before they took two steps, Zhu Zhi stopped them.

"Um, have you met Madam Yan?"

Luo Yuwen glanced at Jiang Shuiying and nodded.

Zhu Zhi stood up, twisting her fingers, looking a little uncomfortable: "Then, can you help me apologize to her? I know it's too late to say anything now, and I think she probably doesn't want to see me, but..."

Luo Yuwen was about to respond when Jiang Shuiying spoke first, with a warm smile on his face:

"Okay, we'll tell her for you. I believe Madam Yan won't blame you when she finds out."

"After all, you are also a victim."

Jiang Shuiying's words made Zhu Zhi's eyes brighten up, and his body was not as cramped as before.

"Thank you."

Accompanied by their agent, Jiang Shuiying and Luo Yuwen successfully left the filming site and returned to the car. Jiang Shuiying pulled the notebook off the car door handle and threw it into the back seat while fastening her seatbelt.

"I'm hungry, Mr. Detective. We've checked everything we need to check."

"Shall we go eat first and then go straight back to G City?"

Luo Yuwen seemed to have no interest in eating. He held the steering wheel with both hands, thinking about something. He did not start the car nor answer Jiang Shuiying.

Jiang Shuiying turned her head and waved her hand in front of Luo Yuwen, "Luo Yuwen, what's wrong with you?"

"Jiang Shuiying, don't you find it strange?"

"What's strange?"

Luo Yuwen took his hands off the steering wheel, then crossed his arms and looked at Jiang Shuiying with a somewhat cold expression on his face.

"Zhu Zhi is weird, and you are weird too."

Jiang Shuiying stretched out a hand and pointed at herself, "Me?"

Luo Yuwen's tone grew increasingly forceful, and the enclosed space inside the car suddenly became oppressive. "My secretary told me earlier that Zhu Zhi volunteered. If she was really threatened as she said, then she had every reason to kill, perhaps because she couldn't stand being controlled by Yan Ming and decided to murder him."

"But Jiang Shuiying, you are so weird,"

"I don't believe a woman who loves her husband so deeply can be so generous. You just acted like an older sister. This is not normal at all."

"You said Zhu Zhi didn't know you, and you didn't know Zhu Zhi either, but she called you sister as soon as she saw you. How did she know your age?"

"When I first entered the set, I was wondering, how could you get in so easily with just one sentence?"

"Either you don't love your husband at all, and you have other motives in investigating his cause of death."

"Or, you are teasing me, Jiang Shuiying."
