Chapter 50 I Don't Want You Anymore
The Cayenne's door opened.
Upon seeing that familiar, slender figure, Lu Chong rushed forward almost instantly, pulling the person into his arms as if he wanted to crush them.
Lu Chong's grip was strong, as if he were using all his strength to hold him tightly, as if afraid that he would suddenly disappear. His chin rested on Mu Yan's shoulder, his breathing was rapid, and his voice was almost choked with emotion: "Did he force you? Have you suffered a lot of grievances?"
Mu Yan was covered in a lot of mixed pheromones, the heaviest of which was the alpha pheromone with the scent of ebony and sandalwood.
Without even thinking, Lu Chong knew who the pheromones came from.
It's okay, it's okay, as long as Mu Yan went back with him. It's just pheromones; if he sleeps with Mu Yan in his arms for one night, he'll be covered in his pheromones again.
"It's alright, Yan Yan, let's go home..."
The night was deep, and the distant streetlights cast two blurry shadows on the car window.
Shang Qiyue sat in the back seat and let out a sneer.
The driver glanced back at him nervously: "Sir, Mr. Mu should..."
"I know," Shang Qiyue replied calmly.
Outside the car, Lu Chong, who had finally found Mu Yan, was so anxious that he didn't notice that the person in his arms was unusually quiet.
By the time he finally realized something seemed wrong, a while had already passed.
Mu Yan stood there, and apart from staggering a little when he was first hugged, he did not give any reaction from beginning to end.
Lu Chong sensed something was wrong and immediately let go of him.
"Yan Yan..." Lu Chong's voice was a little tight, "Are you still angry with me? I'm sorry, I..."
"He didn't force me." Mu Yan turned her head slightly, her tone calm.
"What did you say......"
Lu Chong's fingers twitched slightly. He wanted to grab Mu Yan's hand, but Mu Yan wouldn't even give him a second glance. He even took a step back, widening the distance between them.
"Is it because of money? How much do you owe him? I'll pay you now, okay? You blocked my number, so I had to send my sister to the hospital. I then asked Jiang Yizhuo to ask your brother. I'm sorry, I should have asked more questions back then..."
"Why is it always your sister and Senior Jiang?" Mu Yan said sarcastically. "And what about you? Why are you so unwilling to meet my family?"
Lu Chong had never seen Mu Yan like this before.
The Mu Yan before him was even thinner than he remembered. His eyes were slightly red, his face was pale, but his expression remained calm and undisturbed.
Mu Yan had never...never even spoken loudly to him before.
But he was wrong before; he had spoken ill of Mu Yan so many times. It's good that Mu Yan is still willing to scold him now.
It's good that Mu Yan is still willing to scold him...
Lu Chong was so stunned that he lost even the chance to defend himself.
Even if he had done something wrong in the past, he would have had a thousand reasons to argue with Mu Yan and get Mu Yan to forgive him. But now, even though he was being confined by his family, he couldn't utter a single word.
The car window slowly rolled down, revealing Shang Qiyue's handsome face, but with a somewhat irritating smile.
Lu Chong's face darkened as soon as he saw him.
Shang Qiyue rested his chin on his hand, watching them with a leisurely air, a hint of interest in his eyes: "Didn't Young Master Lu just say something wrong? It wasn't 'give,' it was 'return.'"
The moment Lu Chong saw Shang Qiyue, an inexplicable anger surged within him.
The pheromones of ebony and sandalwood wafted out of the car window, colliding with Lu Chong's own pheromones. Lu Chong stared coldly at him, wishing he could burn a hole through him with his gaze.
The SUV was very tall, and Shang Qiyue, sitting in the car, glanced down at him.
"Yan Yan said that he borrowed 100,000 yuan from you before."
Lu Chong's expression changed, and his lips turned slightly pale.
“Yes.” He reached into his bag somewhat hastily and, with trembling fingertips, pulled out a black bank card and handed it to Mu Yan.
"He...he's right. Take it. It's the money I owe you. The password is your birthday. The company will start making a profit soon, and your share of the profits will be deposited into the account after that..."
However, Mu Yan did not accept it immediately.
"Is it 100,000 yuan?" Mu Yan lowered her eyelashes and asked softly, "I only want the 100,000 yuan I lent you back then."
“Yan Yan…” Lu Chong’s hand paused. He was somewhat taken aback, his fingers tightening slightly as he gripped the black bank card. His throat tightened, making it almost impossible to speak. “No, no… How could I only repay you 100,000? You gave me a million back then. The 100,000 you saved, plus the shoes and clothes you sold… and that bracelet…”
As if remembering something, Lu Chong quickly walked back to the car and took a bracelet from it.
Mu Yan was very familiar with that bracelet; it was of the glassy type, clear and beautiful.
It was a gift from Lu Chong when he confessed his feelings to him, and he later sold it to support Lu Chong's business venture.
Mu Yan still remembers that when the jade shop took the bracelet off to sell, for some reason, they failed several times, as if the bracelet had developed feelings for him.
“You like this bracelet, so I redeemed it,” Lu Chong said softly.
He was released from solitary confinement only a week ago. The jade dealers had already sold the bracelet long ago, and he had to inquire around for a long time before finding the current buyer.
Those who can afford to collect jadeite are unlikely to be short of money, and that lady firmly believed in the health benefits of jade, so she refused to sell the bracelet to Lu Chong.
In the end, he asked a designer friend to carve a new pendant based on the lady's birth date and zodiac sign, and bought a glass-type jadeite bracelet of similar price to exchange for the original bracelet.
He was smug when he got the bracelet back, thinking that once he found Mu Yan, he would definitely go to Mu Yan to claim credit.
But when Mu Yan actually stood in front of him, he found himself speechless.
Now all he wants is to see him accept it, and all he wants is to see him happy.
Mu Yan's gaze fell on the bracelet, and he stared at it for a long time.
He doesn't like jade bracelets.
Whether he was in college or after he started working, he had to code every day, and wearing the bracelet was not convenient at all.
The reason he cared about and valued that bracelet was always because of Lu Chong.
But now, he no longer likes Lu Chong.
"The bracelet is too expensive, Lu Chong." Mu Yan's voice was light and airy. "It can't be broken like the last one. I can't afford to pay for it. You can keep it and give it to the young master or lady who will marry you in the future."
"I don't know whether I should feel wronged or grateful that someone like you is willing to spend three years playing with me. But I can't afford to play anymore now, you should go find someone else."
Go find someone else.
Mu Yan spoke slowly and deliberately, his tone calm and without anger, seemingly no different from any of his previous remarks such as "You should get some rest" or "The studio still has summer blankets, you should come back and sleep."
Lu Chong felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave.
"No, I didn't. Let me explain. I didn't mean to lie to you. I just..."
Lu Chong couldn't continue speaking.
What lie is ever intended to be a lie from the start?
He didn't mean to lie to Mu Yan, but no one held a knife to his throat and forced him to lie to Mu Yan that his family had gone bankrupt.
Because of that initial lie, he fabricated countless more to cover it up. If, even once, he had considered that he shouldn't have treated Mu Yan this way, he wouldn't have ended up in this irreparable state.
"I...it's my fault." Lu Chong apologized awkwardly, "Yan Yan, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have lied to you, I'm a bastard, I'm a worthless person..."
"Don't talk about yourself like that," Mu Yan said softly. "I don't want you to apologize to me. We're over."
Lu Chong was a very proud person. In the past, getting an apology from him was almost impossible. After every argument, as long as he gave the slightest sign that he wanted to make up, Mu Yan would keenly pick it up and then invite him to eat, take a walk, or sleep together.
He no longer needs the apologies he once desperately sought.
Mu Yan wasn't a mean person. Seeing someone who was once so proud bowing and scraping before him would give him a little pleasure, but he didn't need it.
He no longer wanted to like Lu Chong, so any guilt or lingering feelings Lu Chong had for him were a burden to him.
He will wait until his contract with Shang Qiyue ends before returning to his own life, buy his own house, slowly pay off the loan, spend more time with his mother, and of course, go on blind dates if a suitable person comes along.
Therefore, he sincerely hoped that Lu Chong would find a suitable omega as soon as possible, so that they could go their separate ways.
“If you find it troublesome,” Mu Yan looked at him quietly, “I can keep this card. Just give me a card number and I’ll transfer the extra money to you.”
Lu Chong's face gradually turned pale, his fingertips tightened, and his heart felt as if it were being gripped tightly by an invisible hand, making it difficult to even breathe.
He originally thought Mu Yan would be angry, ignore him, scold him, hit him, smash his things on the ground and tell him to get out, and he could accept all of that.
“I’m not… Even if you’re angry and don’t want to see me right now,” Lu Chong said with difficulty, “you don’t have to give these back to me, okay? The bracelet was originally yours. If you don’t like it, you can sell it for money. As for the money in the card, consider it interest. Haven’t you always wanted to buy a house?”
"Lu Chong." Mu Yan's voice was very soft, each word clear and distinct, "I don't want your money."
His tone was calm and undisturbed, yet it was more cruel than any accusation or approval.
Lu Chong's fingertips trembled slightly as he slowly lowered his hand holding the card, his knuckles turning white, as if he had used all his strength to prevent himself from completely collapsing.
"It's not my money, it was originally yours. The money from selling the things I gave you was originally yours..."
"I don't want your things either."
It felt like a knife had been plunged into his heart, and the pain was so intense that Lu Chong could barely stand.
His lips trembled, as if he wanted to say something more, but Mu Yan had already looked away and didn't give him any more glances.
"I don't want you anymore either."
[Author's Note]
Silly boy, be content. At least you got to hold your wife. You won't get to do that for the next few dozen chapters, though (devil's whisper).
