Chapter 100 Being Bewitched
The doctor sent these photos to the head professor, asking him if he had ever seen such an insect.
"I suspect these insects have all turned into black liquid. Director, I'm not very knowledgeable, do you know what kind of insects these are?"
The professor replied quickly:
"This is a Gu worm!"
Where did you take the photo?
When the professor said it was a Gu worm, the doctor was startled. He had heard of Gu worms before, but had never seen one. He thought they were just terrifying things made up in movies and novels. He never expected that they actually existed in reality.
So this is what Gu worms look like. I've really learned something new.
He quickly replied, "I have a patient who vomited up these worms. I can't find any cause for her illness, so I came to ask you."
The professor replied, "You should send her back immediately. This isn't an illness; the hospital can't cure it. Tell her to find someone who knows how to remove the curse as soon as possible. Otherwise, when the time comes, even a god couldn't save her life."
The doctor looked up and said to Chen Xiaohui, "Your friend has been poisoned by a Gu worm; what she vomited up was a Gu worm."
"Poisoning? Gu worms?" Chen Xiaohui's mouth dropped open in surprise, then she tensed up. "Will my friend die?"
The doctor nodded seriously. "Yes! If you can't find someone to remove the curse from her, she will die."
Chen Xiaohui turned pale with fright and was completely at a loss. She had never encountered anything like this before, and had only seen it on TV and in novels. Where was she supposed to find someone who knew how to break free from the curse?
Her eyes welled up with tears, and she looked at the doctor, asking in a thick, nasal voice, "Doctor, do you know anyone who can cure this curse? I really don't know where to find such a person."
The doctor shook his head. "I don't know him, and I don't know anything about him."
"Could you ask around for me? See if anyone knows?" Chen Xiaohui looked at the doctor with a pleading expression.
The doctor's heart softened, and he picked up his phone again to send a message to the head professor:
"Director, do you know anyone who can cure the curse?"
The professor replied quickly: "I don't know them. Don't get involved in this mess. Make them leave quickly and don't get yourself into trouble."
After reading the message from the head professor, the doctor looked grave. He looked up at Chen Xiaohui and saw her looking at him anxiously, which made him feel a little sorry for her.
But there was nothing he could do to help. He sighed heavily and said in a deep voice, "I'm sorry, I can't help you. You should hurry up and take your friend to find someone to remove the curse."
With her hopes dashed, the light in Chen Xiaohui's eyes dimmed.
After thanking the doctor, Chen Xiaohui returned to the ward, where Li Man had already fainted from the pain.
In just one night, Riemann was tormented by the Gu worms to the point of being unrecognizable. Her face was sallow, her eye sockets were blue, and her lips were white. Even when she was unconscious, her brows were still tightly furrowed, and she had a look of pain on her face.
Chen Xiaohui didn't know what to do. She took out her phone and called Gu Ya. Gu Ya was knowledgeable and might know someone who could cure the curse.
It was just dawn, and the phone rang for a long time before it was answered.
As soon as the call connected, Chen Xiaohui cried and said, "Gu Ya, Li Man has been bewitched... Waaaaah..."
Still half asleep, Gu Ya jolted awake upon hearing this. "What? What did you say? Riemann has been bewitched?"
