Chapter 161 Suddenly I felt wronged
For some reason, she hadn't cried when others were talking about her earlier, but now, because of his concern, Li Man suddenly felt incredibly wronged. Her nose stung, and tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over. She tried her best to hold back the tears.
"Go ahead and cry if you want to. There's nothing shameful about it. I've seen you cry before," Huo Jiansheng said, softening his tone.
Riemann's tears finally streamed down her face uncontrollably. She sobbed softly, her shoulders trembling uncontrollably.
Huo Jiansheng sighed, took out a white handkerchief from his pocket, and handed it to Li Man. "Let's go, I'll treat you to coffee."
Li Man took the handkerchief Huo Jiansheng offered and said, her voice choked with emotion, "Thank you."
Huo Jiansheng glanced at the woman whose face was covered in snot and tears, his eyes darkening slightly, but he said nothing. He turned and walked outside. After a few steps, seeing that Li Man had not followed, he turned back and gestured for her to catch up.
Li Man then jogged to catch up with Huo Jiansheng.
Huo Jiansheng took Li Man to a very tastefully decorated coffee shop and even got her a private room.
"Cry all you want, there's no one here, cry all you want," Huo Jiansheng said, closing the door to the private room.
On her way to the coffee shop, Riemann had stopped crying. Her emotions had calmed down, and she couldn't cry anymore. She shook her head. "I'm not crying anymore. Actually, there's nothing to cry about; I just suddenly couldn't help it..."
Li Man stopped talking, sighed, looked at Huo Jiansheng, and asked, "Do you think I'm being dramatic?"
Huo Jiansheng sat down on the stool and shook his head. "No."
Li Man sat down opposite Huo Jiansheng and said apologetically, "I'm really sorry about that. I just couldn't control myself and made you laugh."
Huo Jiansheng looked at Li Man and said with dissatisfaction, "You don't need to be so polite when you talk to me. You can cry in front of me if you want to, and I won't laugh at you."
Riemann was quite touched and said softly, "Thank you, Mr. Huo."
"From now on, just call me Huo Jiansheng. Don't call me Mr. Huo anymore; it sounds too formal," Huo Jiansheng said calmly. "Aren't we friends?"
"Huo Jiansheng?"
Huo Jiansheng nodded in satisfaction. "Not bad, it sounds quite pleasant."
"But I feel a little awkward. Who calls someone by their full name?"
"Then you'll call me Jiansheng?"
“Uh, then I’ll just call you Huo Jiansheng.” Calling you Jiansheng was too intimate, so Li Man didn’t say the rest.
She felt that as a married woman, it was inappropriate to call a man so intimately. Although she no longer had feelings for her husband, she still wanted to keep a certain distance from Huo Jiansheng.
However, she also knew that Huo Jiansheng only regarded her as a friend. Besides, a man with Huo Jiansheng's excellent qualities would never be interested in her. She had that much self-awareness.
If she were young, she could have such thoughts, but she is no longer young, and to have such thoughts now would be overestimating herself and indulging in wishful thinking.
Huo Jiansheng smiled, revealing his handsome teeth, "Call me whatever you think is most comfortable."
Riemann smiled and said, "Okay."
Why were you crying just now? Who bullied you?
Riemann didn't want to talk about what had just happened. "It's nothing, I just suddenly felt uncomfortable."
“If you won’t tell me, I can find out when I get back.”
